Love Above the Heart

Love Above the Heart
- Unexpected Events -

*POV. Erick

I just arrived at the airport. In the city of Gia's dreams she told me about.

"I want to go there someday, Yang. At least once in my entire life." Said Gia at that time.

My goal here is clearly to find Gia. But I still doubt if Gia will be able to meet here. My instincts forced me to finally decide to immediately arrive in this city, before my work leave expired.

It was noon when I arrived. Because I did not wait for anyone to pick me up at the airport, then I decided to immediately leave the Airport and order a Taxi to the Hotel that I had booked through the application on my phone.

****

I put my stuff in the hotel room. I don't want to waste time looking for Gia. So even though I just arrived, I immediately went to walk through this city to crowded places that might bring me to meet Gia.

Suddenly, an unexpected event happened in front of the hotel. I saw a woman who just got hit and ran. The car that hit him had stopped for a moment and left very quickly and lost inedible distance.

Circumstances are not so crowded, because it occurs in office rush hours and weekdays. People may not be outside much of the room.

Until the moment I saw the woman, I immediately reflexively ran towards her and approached her.

The woman was unconscious. I saw blood start pouring out of his head. Things started to get crowded with people going back and forth and then stopped on the side of the road watching the woman and I who squatted on her side.

"Buruan Mas, take it straight to the hospital!" Saying someone on the street.

I felt a lot of boisterousness around me watching the tragic events that had just happened in front of my eyes. I followed my human instincts and soul to help the woman.

I lift slowly his body which has many blisters due to rubbing against the asphalt road. My clothes and hands were cut from the blood that was still flowing.

Someone with his hand stopped a passing taxi. And I immediately entered in a hurry into the taxi carrying this ill-fated woman.

"Nearby hospital sir. Please deliver quickly!" I nodded to the taxi driver in a trembling voice.

A taxi drove to the nearest hospital in the city.

"How are the patients, doctor?" I asked the doctor who handled the woman I helped.

"Can I speak to his guardian? You ready?"

"I found him on the street, he was a hit-and-run victim. I don't know who he is or where his family is. But I brought him here. So let's just say I'm the doctor's guardian"

"Well, the patient's condition is fine, we have done a scan on his bumped head. There are no signs of harm until now. We have to wait for him to come to his senses, because I want to make sure that there is a clash in his head, whether there is an influence on the consciousness and memory of the patient or not."

"Oh, doctor, can I see how he is?"

"Of course, and also look for his identity. Excuse me first" said the doctor.

I stepped into the patient room. I watched the unconscious woman. Looking at the state of the woman's head that was wrapped around bandages and some blisters on her face and arms. And his hands are decorated with infusion hoses.

"Poor woman" my inner.

I saw the lady's sling bag placed on the bedside nightstand. I tried to check the contents to find his identity.

I opened his wallet which seemed quite expensive.

I saw his name on his identification card.

"Mikhayla" I said reading the identity of the woman I just found.

I put the wallet back down, switched to the woman's phone. I tried to open the phonebook menu to contact the Mikhayla family. Fortunately the phone was not locked using a password.

I didn't find any contacts that should have been related to Mikhayla's parents. Forcibly, I opened the messaging app to make sure the person close to Mikhayla was able to contact me and tell Mikhayla's condition to the person.

I stopped at one contact name I should have been able to call about this woman. With contact name "My Sunshine"

I dialed that number using my own phone.

...Tut's.......

...Tutt.......

Several times the tone was heard but the call was not also raised by someone across there.

I tried to contact him again and again. But still no one raised my call. I finally had to use Mikhayla's phone to dial the number.

From the beginning, I wanted to use Mikhayla's phone to contact a contact that I thought would be able to handle this woman. But I respect Mikhayla's privacy and don't want to use that phone any further than just looking for an important contact.

And usually, certain people will not want to pick up the phone from an unknown number.

Sure enough my guess, the contact I just called with my phone did not answer my call. But, once a call using Mikhayla's phone, the call was instantly answered without waiting for long.

"Hallo" the man's voice across the street sounded.

"Hallo, is this true with people who know Mikhayla?"

"Yes, who are you? Why are you using Micah's phone?"

"Sorry sir, I just want to let you know that the woman who owns this phone is in the hospital because of a hit-and-run"

"What's? How's things going? Which hospital is it?"

"You better see for yourself the situation, at the Vitra Medika hospital."

"Well, I'll be there right now!"

Call ended. I have to wait for the guy I just called to come.

"Huffffff" I took a deep breath and exhaled.

I didn't expect my first day in town to be like this. My arrival to find Gia I had to postpone in order to save one life.

Hopefully after this I can leave the hospital soon to find my Gia.

I sat on the hospital couch. Coincidentally the room occupied by this woman is a VVIP room with a larger room facilitated and there is a Sofa and TV.

Previously, after exiting the ER room, the nurse who handled Mikhayla immediately drove her into the VVIP Room.

When I asked, he said Mikhayla had a special treatment card to be placed in the VVIP room of the hospital. I just nodded in understanding.

*POV. Gia

I woke up a little bad today. I want to buy breakfast rice sitting in front of the alley that has become my subscription.

But because I came when the day was near noon, it was certain I could not enjoy the nasi uduk which is now my favorite.

"It's over, neng!" Said Mang cardi the rice seller.

"Yahhh" I immediately left while weaving my lips like a child.

I decided to take public transportation to a market that was not too far from my contract.

I shopped the ingredients for cooking for a few days. But I feel so tired when I want to go home. I decided to order an online motorcycle.

But suddenly because I was not careful my phone was nudged by someone and it can be ascertained that the phone fell into the streets of the market that muddy in front of me.

"Good my phone!" I half-cried in surprise. I took my phone off the street.

"Ma, sorry son." Said a middle-aged mother who looks still beautiful at her age who is not young anymore. her appearance was so fashionable but not excessive.

I looked at the mother with a smile.

"It's okay mom, I'm okay, right?" I said sorry to see that mother was also shocked pale when she accidentally nudged me. He seems exhausted.

"I'm okay, son. Sorry your phone must be broken."

"Udah ma'am, it's okay. Maybe the age of the phone is only up to this time in my life" I said while holding a phone that really does not want to live anymore aka die completely. My phone doesn't seem to accept being mocked on the street.

"Where is your address? I'll have my son there deliver change for your phone"

"What are you riding on? Same with my mother."

I actually want to refuse. But somehow I'm not good at rejecting mother's offer in front of me.

Maybe this is his way of apologizing to me for something I don't really care about. I never use my phone to contact anyone. I no longer want to relate to my past.

At least I just open the sosmed for promotion of clothes from my creation. You can also log in from another phone. Of course I'll have to buy that other phone later.

But I really don't mind it. I consider it my spare time.

"Don't bother you?" I'm polite.

"No really. Mom was picked up by mom's son, but she didn't seem to be there yet. That's why I was confused here waiting for him, uh even hit you. Sorry again, son."

"Yes ma'am, I'm waiting for my mother's child to pick me up" I said as I finally sat on a long wooden bench near people who used to park motorcycles and cars in the market.

"Ma..." Shouted a man who just got out of the car and walked over to us.

"That's my son, come on, boys" said the mother as she pulled my hand to go with him, past her approaching son. I was tired just following him.

I saw the man who said he was his son was straddling the groceries the mother left behind just near the chair we were sitting on earlier.

then walk also followed behind us with the goods in his hand.

"You just in front, let the mother behind" said the mother and directly into the passenger seat in the back.

I hesitated to enter. Because I was reluctant to suddenly board a car that I realized was quite luxurious and I did not know the owner.

The rear window of the car is lowered.

"Come on, kid, come in. Its alright. Mother's son didn't eat people" the mother held back from laughing saying her sentence just now.

I pulled the car door handle nervously, then I sat down to put on the seat belt. I saw from the rearview mirror the man opened and put his mother's groceries into the trunk of the car behind.

The man got into the car and sat behind the wheel, beside me.

I saw him a little surprised by my presence sitting next to him. I decided to shut up and look out the window.

Silent mood. The car started to leave the market. But suddenly the mother sitting behind broke the silence between us.

"Who's name, son? Mother's name, Goddess."

"I'm Gia, ma'am" I said disinclined to see the daughter of the Goddess who was driving like putting on a dislike face.

"Where do you live, son? Let Arga know to take you"

"Arga?" I said confused.

"Yes, Arga's mother's son who is beside you" replied Miss Dewi while patting slowly the shoulder of a man I just knew named Arga.

"I contracted on Pertiwi Street, ma'am. Across from Tirtanadi" I said again.

I'm really clumsy to be in this position. I don't know what it's gonna be like. You can imagine my position in front of the Goddess mom had to talk to her who was sitting behind me. I don't want to have to look back a little while I talk. And that position made me have to look at the person next to me who was driving with a face that was hard to explain.

"Why do you really like to bring people who are not clear, ma?" Arga said. His tone was slightly upset and Sharp satirized.

his words were like they were directed at me. Yes he insinuated me indirectly. And what did he say? the unclear person?

'That means I'm an obscure person, right? '

I just kept quiet while looking out the window. Though his words are very unpleasant in my ears.

"You are yes, this Gia is not an obscure person!" Answer Miss Dewi defend herself and I think represent my words that want to say that I am not a person as unclear as she thinks.

"Your mother just found out his name and address. That means it's not clear ma!" Said Arga again in a flat tone.

"Yes, but you know his name and address now. Not only my mom knows. But you heard it too, right? Means it's no longer unclear dong!" Reply to the Goddess with satisfaction.

The man named Arga shook his head.

"It's up to mama"

"I'm sorry Gia, Arga does not get along. Lose the same mother" the words of the mother Goddess ignored Arga.

I lyrics Arga who just clucked annoyed but still focused on driving his car. I just nodded at the words of Mother Goddess.

"Have you contracted there for a long time?"

"Not too long ago ma'am, about 2 months"

"Who's contracted there?"

"Self ma'am"

"Well, girls live alone? Where are your parents? Do you work in this town or what?"

I accidentally saw Arga's gurgle glancing at me and seemed interested in listening to our conversation.

"My parents are out of town mom, I'm here to open my own business, small business"

"Well, you're independent! Stay away from your parents and open your own business. That's great of you, Gia!"

At first I saw Arga smiling showing dimples on his cheeks. She smiled either because she heard her mother's words or because she praised me like her mother in her heart.

"This has been on earth, where else?" Suddenly Arga asked me the way to my contract. Did he ask me? Yes, obviously this guy was asking me why I was so stupid after looking at his smile earlier.

"E, uh yeah. It's the alley ahead" I said, who was suddenly nervous to speak to him.

After driving me home. Madam Dewi immediately resigned herself. I offered him to stop by. The Goddess looked at her son. But again his son named Arga was like a protest from the gaze of his eyes.

Today I decided to continue the remnants of Nila's uniform order for her brothers. My stitches just got some done. The rest is much.

"I have to work harder. If you need to be ready on time" I said encouraging myself.

When I sewed one of my clothes, I heard my door knock from the outside.

...Tok.dok.....

"Yes, for a moment" I said from inside the house walking towards the front door opening the door.

"Ka, you?" I said a little bit.
