Chapter 23. Waiting for Answers

Rhiana took a tray on the table. He fed Kenneth whose position was currently sitting on the bed leaning on the headboard.

"You must have deliberately made everyone panic," said Rhiana.

While chewing his food, Kenneth nodded. This is the only way to get her mother to bless her relationship with Rhiana.

"You know how worried your mom and dad are. Don't make drama like that! Just like a child," said Rhiana.

Although his hand was feeding, but his mouth continued to nag endlessly. After the last bribe, Rhiana took the glass and gave it to Kenneth. Kenneth drank it to the end and then returned it to Rhiana's hands.

"Thank you" said Kenneth.

"You've improved, haven't you? I have to go home now" said Rhiana.

Opportunities do not come over and over again. Kenneth has energy now. He pulled Rhiana's hand until it fell right on her lap. His gaze clashed, silent, admiring each other, and immersed in his own feelings.

When Rhiana's consciousness began to return, she pushed Kenneth back until he hit the headboard. Kenneth screeched in surprise.

"Don't try to get me in a difficult position, Kenneth. I have to go see your parents and tell them you're okay."

Rhymes has to go faster. If not, then Kenneth will do it again. It was impossible to be in Nathanael's mansion for quite a long time.

Almost reaching the door, Kenneth hugged her forcefully. Not once or twice was Kenneth brave enough that Rhiana snapped at him.

"Kenneth, please don't be impudent! Keep limits!"

Surprisingly, as powerful as anything rebelled, Kenneth so tightly embraced her. Honey, Rhiana's words were opposite to her body as if enjoying the warmth of the young man's embrace.

As strong as her strength, Rhiana tried to gather her strength again. Not long after, he was able to escape from Kenneth. Now, he looked at the man with a thousand questions. It's kind of weird to be in a position like this.

"Kenneth, our relationship is long over. Please don't make my life difficult! I've wasted a lot of time just acting out your ridiculous behavior."

"Then give me a second chance. We can get engaged and get married. I don't want to be away from you. I'm afraid that you'll be owned by another man."

It's hard to be in the most difficult position like this. Rhiana did not deny that she wanted to get married, but her past failures also left her in a dilemma.

Stella and Albert were in the living room. They were waiting for the best news that Rhiana would bring. However, when they saw the arrival of Kenneth and Rhiana, Stella could smile happily. She hugged her son without caring if there was any Albert or Rhiana.

"Darling, don't scare the mother." Stella hugged him so tightly that no one was allowed to pick him up.

"Enough, Stella. Don't make your son more depressed like that. Let him breathe. Go, release!" Albert's orders.

Stella immediately let go of his embrace then asked Kenneth to sit down. They forget that there is a Rhiana there.

"Ehm, I wanted to apologize earlier. I think Kenneth's fine now. I'm going home" added Rhiana.

"Please don't leave now. Before I finish talking, stay here!" pinta Kenneth's.

Rhiana nodded as Albert asked her to sit down. It was already late, dinner had passed, and they were still talking non-stop.

"What's up, Kenneth?" ask Stella.

Kenneth explains his intention to get engaged to Rhiana first. After that, he will work for the company. They will get married a few months later.

"Yes, the engagement is bound to happen. When did you want it, Kenneth? Papa will prepare everything." Albert was so happy to hear his son was getting engaged.

Stella seemed to force a smile. Rhiana also realized it. And so, he had to save himself.

"Sorry, Mr. Albert. I have not agreed with this unilateral decision," Rhiana refused.

It seemed like Stella seemed pleased with Rhiana's rejection, but suddenly the cheer turned into an endless cloudy.

"Pa, I want the engagement to take place tomorrow" Kenneth said. This is one way to bind Rhiana so as not to be released again.

"What's? Don't make decisions too hastily, Kenneth! You don't quite understand what marriage is, yet" Rhiana explained in a raised tone of voice.

"Then we'll understand it together!" reply Kenneth.

Everyone is silent. Stella thought that Kenneth should not have asked for such a sudden engagement. Moreover, the woman is old and very inappropriate to get married especially to be with Kenneth.

"Mama agrees you're engaged. Tomorrow too will mama prepare," said Stella convinced.

This is the most surprising. Stella suddenly changed so quickly. They looked at Stella question markingly. Could it be that Stella had a veiled intention in her agreement? Though the Nathanael family has not approved or rejected the proposal sent Samantha extended family.

"Why do you see me like that? Can humans change so quickly?" Stella continued her words.

"Alright, Rhiana. You can spend the night here tonight. I think you guys know each other. You're not going to reject my son, are you?" ask Albert to Rhiana.

Rhiana remained silent. Is Kenneth the man he was meant to be? Why should Kenneth? Why is it not a man of age or at least a divorced widower who will marry him? Why Kenneth? The boy she used to care for. Can Rhiana refuse the request of Albert who has been kind to her?

"Don't sell expensive! You can't do it if it's not my son who married you" Stella said with great care.

"Mama, please don't make things worse. Without Rhiana's consent, Kenneth's engagement will not be held tomorrow" Albert said.

Kenneth can't lose Rhiana anymore. Sooner or later, the nanny must be in his grasp. Even though Rhiana was upset because of her childlike attitude, but this was part of her effort. Later Rhiana and her parents will find out the secret kept by Kenneth.

"Rhiana, please don't refuse. The universe gives us a chance. There won't be a second chance when the first chance is missed. Please!" pinta Kenneth.

Stella did not like it when her son begged for such love for Rhiana. There are still many girls who are ready to get engaged and even marry Kenneth at this time.

"Sir Albert, please give me a moment to think for a moment. What can?" ask Rhiana.

Rhiana needed to solidify her heart first. At least a brief breath of fresh air would allow him to think rationally.

"alright. We await your decision" replied Albert.

As Rhiana exited the mansion, Kenneth paced around without cause. Rhiana could have refused his request. Kenneth can't take that.

"Kenneth, relax! Let Rhiana think for a moment" Albert said.

While Stella hopes that Rhiana will reject her son. After that, he would make an impromptu engagement with Samantha. It doesn't make any difference, does it? Both hold an engagement party, only the prospective women are different.

Waiting about 10 to 20 minutes does not actually make Rhiana return quickly. There may be a lot of consideration he thinks about out there. It was possible that the age range was too far, Stella's attitude towards him, and Rhiana would definitely have trouble adapting again in this mansion.

"So, what's your answer, Rhiana?" kenneth asked when he saw the woman coming back.
