Chapter 26. Dilemmas

The atmosphere of the mansion looks so beautiful when all the flowers are neatly arranged. Maid prepares dinner to entertain some guests who come.

"Mama invited anyone?" ask Kenneth.

"Not much, dear. Only the closest people. Samantha will come too." Stella was normal, but different from Kenneth's response.

"Why should Samantha, Ma? Why not someone else? He's gonna be even more mad at me, isn't he?" Kenneth could not accept what his mother did.

Kenneth's relationship with Samantha is not going well. He had already rejected the expression of the girl's love. This time, he refused his proposal.

"If he's angry, calm down! It's not your job anymore, is it?" stella replied lightly.

It felt as though Kenneth was becoming increasingly clueless with his mother's attitude. Tonight he will be happy above the suffering of others. Can Kenneth look at the sad face of his best friend?

Rhiana looked at the interaction that took place between the mother and the child. Both have different standards of living. It certainly looks real if Stella doesn't like it at all.

"When were you there?" kenneth asked as he saw Rhiana still wearing her casual clothes.

The event will last about two hours. Rhiana still had a chance to tour the mansion before returning the next day.

"Old lumayan." Short, clear, and solid answers.

"You must be looking for me because you miss me, right?"

Rhiana smiled. "It's better to think about the way you work to make money, rather than having to argue with me. Marriage is not just love, it takes capital to live life. I don't want you to depend on me!"

After his short lecture, Rhiana returned to the room. While Kenneth smiled at the words of his future fiancee. Tomorrow, Kenneth will officially work in the office helping his papa. This is done until the wedding. Kenneth was already thinking about when they would get married. He will announce it after the engagement.

The awaited time has arrived. Albert did invite some office staff to witness that his son tonight will be engaged to the woman of his choice.

While Samantha was shocked when she saw the atmosphere of the middle room that was conjured up in such a way. Like an engagement party there.

"Samantha, you're coming, honey," said Stella. He gave her a warm hug.

"Yes, Aunty. But, sorry, I just came alone. My parents had a show with their client."

"No problem, honey. Come on, sit down!"

Stella can't bear to explain that tonight her son is getting engaged. That would be a huge blow to Samantha.

When Kenneth came out along with Rhiana, Samantha's eyes seemed to dislike him. His heart was broken while Rhiana took Kenneth's hand in a friendly manner. Some people had commented softly with what he saw, making Samantha understand what this all meant.

"It's no wonder Mr. Kenneth wants to get engaged. The candidate is quite beautiful and interesting," said one guest, then responded to the other guests.

"Yes. Rumor has it that the woman was Mr. Kenneth's nanny in the past, but Mr. Albert didn't bother her at all."

Samantha's tears almost fell. However, he tried not to appear before everyone. His love for Kenneth ends today.

The event was very short. Before dinner, Albert went forward to announce that his son was officially engaged tonight. The exchange of rings between the two.

"Tonight is a very special night. Where my son has found the moorings of his heart. Along with what I said, this very second Kenneth Nathanael and Rhiana Roseanne are officially engaged!"

Samantha jealous. To be honest he wanted that position of Rhiana to be his. He lamented Kenneth's decision to choose an old woman for her size.

"Congratulations, Kenneth! I didn't expect your choice to fall on him." Samantha said congratulations, but her face did not show happiness at all.

"I'm sorry, I rejected your proposal. I love Rhiana so much. I can't get away from her, Samantha. I'm sorry."

Samantha's smile seemed to mock. "By loving the old woman? Your taste is low, Kenneth!"

Kenneth could not accept that Rhiana was denigrated like that. However, his service to Kenneth's life was already considerable. In fact, even Kenneth was unable to retaliate.

"At least he's mature enough for a man like me" Kenneth replied then leaving Samantha to meet the invited guests.

Rhiana looks very pretty with the dress Kenneth chose for her. Some of his papa office staff had praised that the older, the beauty of Rhiana is very plenary.

"You're lucky, Miss. Mr. Kenneth is the sole successor of the Nathanael group. We hope you can join the company later" said one of the staff.

Rhiana's name was already well known among Albert's staff. They knew that name a long time ago. Albert often praised for his success.

Upon hearing such a remark, Stella was extremely displeased. He tried to divert the conversation.

"That's thanks to my husband too, right?" sahut Stella's.

The staff was also bearded. After all discussing anything with Stella must have ended the debate. Luckily, Kenneth is not like his mother.

Some people really enjoyed that amazing night. As for Samantha, her heart was deeply wounded. There was ill will in him to break this engagement.

"Kenneth, can we talk to you for a second?" Samantha tries to speak from heart to heart.

"What's wrong? Say it!" Kenneth is still upset with Samantha.

"I want to apologize to you. Can we talk outside? Just moment! I don't want to disturb the guests here" said Samantha.

Kenneth agreed without thinking badly of his best friend. However, unexpectedly when the two reached the edge of the pool, Samantha suddenly kissed him. Honestly, Kenneth was surprised until he pushed back Samantha's body.

"What are you doing, Samantha?" snapped Kenneth.

"I just wanted to make the sweetest farewell with you, Kenneth. I can't be away from you. Why did you leave me like this? What's my lack in your eyes?" Samantha. He kept making his point so Kenneth could understand.

From afar, Rhiana sees Kenneth and a girl's interaction. Yes, Rhiana is looking for Kenneth because he was asked by Albert. Some guests who intend to leave are still waiting. At the sight of that incident, Rhiana did not feel jealous at all or anything. That's exactly the case for a young man like Kenneth.

"Not in that way, Samantha! You look so cheap to kiss me like that!"

Samantha doesn't care. Loving Kenneth is no mistake either. After all, before Kenneth got married, Samantha still needed to fight again to corner Rhiana.

Rhiana could no longer wait. Albert must be expecting his son's presence.

"Sorry, bother you. Mr. Albert asked Kenneth to come back quickly because some guests wanted to say goodbye," Rhiana said, to Kenneth's surprise.

Could it be that Rhiana saw everything? How did she react after Kenneth spoke to her later? Will Rhiana accuse him of cheating? Kenneth is in an extraordinary dilemma.
