Make Me His Substitute

Make Me His Substitute
Little Father and Mother

"Mara, let's answer Mom's question, why are you crying?" She took off Amara's arms to see Amara's face clearly.

Amara did not answer. Only a small stuffing came out of his mouth.

Mother became increasingly anxious to see the condition of her youngest daughter. There has never been a history of the youngest daughter coming home in a state of tears as it is today. I believe something has happened to Amara that caused her daughter to be sad.

"Mara, let's answer Mom or I'll be mad!" Ms. Fatma threatened. The moves he relied on hoped Amara could answer his questions.

"Ma-mara is sad, Mom..." Amara stutters.

"Sad why? Who made you sad, son?" Ask Mom.

Amara hugged Fatma again and cried in her arms. "People in the office are evil with Mara, Mom. They say that Mara has used the magic to attract the attention of Kak Aga. Not only insult Mara, they also accuse Kak Nai who is not." Amara complained like a child to her mother.

Ms. Fatma gasped at the complaint from her youngest daughter. Amara who was not satisfied to complain also continued the story to make Mother sad to hear it.

"Absolutely people like us don't deserve to be with people, do they, Mom? Do we look disgusting in their eyes? Why did they have the heart to call Amara that was not like that. huuu..." Amara was crying loudly. And his cry finally invited Arif's father into the kitchen to see what had happened.

"Mother, Mara, what's going on?" Father Arif's face looks anxious to see his daughter who is crying while hugging the wife. Arif's father approached them and rubbed Amara's head.

Hearing his daughter's complaint made Arif's father grow angry. All this time he had been working hard to keep his daughter happy but behind him it turns out there are people who behave badly to his daughter.

"Sad Mara, Dad. Mara is sad because Kak Nai is also insulted by them even though Kak Nai does not know anything." Amara said as she sobbed.

Arif's father's hand clenched. She recalls the past when Naina was pregnant with Daniel's child. How his daughter endured the pain of the moment until finally he decided to bring his daughter to live in the village to keep her good name. Not only that, Arif's father and Fatma's mother even changed Zeline's status as their child instead of their grandchild. And that's what makes Naina more sick because until the age of Zeline four years, her little daughter had never called her Mama.

"Already, Son. Don't be sad anymore..." Arif's father tries to control his emotions so that he can still calm his crying daughter.

Instead of stopping crying, Amara's cry just got louder.

Ms. Fatma and Arif's father were overwhelmed to calm their daughter who was crying like a child. After Amara was calm enough, Arif's father also invited Amara and Mother to sit in the living room.

The grieving Amara lay with her head on her mother's lap.

"Don't be sad anymore, son. I'm so sad to see you cry like this." Mother rubbed the darling of her daughter's head. All this time he thought Amara had turned into a strong woman considering Amara could always overcome her problems alone. But it turns out his mind is wrong, Amara is still his daughter who still likes to complain if his heart is hurt.
