Chapter 31. Charity Night Events

Nadya's performance tonight made Reno's eyes unable to look away. It felt like Reno didn't want to let anyone else admire his wife tonight, but Reno couldn't have gone alone without her. Tonight is his chance to introduce Nadya to everyone, not just his business colleagues and colleagues, but there will also be a lot of journalists covering.

Arriving at the charity night event, there were already many guests present. Reno never let go of his hand, wherever he stepped Nadya should always be beside him.

The arrival of Reno and Nadya has indeed been awaited by many journalists, especially Reno has not clarified the incident during the restaurant, where Nadya almost slapped Surya.

"There's nothing to call for, just misunderstanding and now our family is all right" replied Reno, who was forced to open her voice because her steps were blocked by news hunters.

Surya who tonight accompanied Azam walked closer to the crowd. He could see his daughter and son-in-law having trouble confronting reporters.

"Excuse me, let my daughter and daughter-in-law pass by. We have to attend the event immediately." said Surya.

"Dad." call Nadya and then grab Surya's hand for her to kiss the back of her hand followed by Reno.

"Solar, is it true that the incident the other day was just a misunderstanding?"

"Solar why did you want to slap your daughter?"

Surya was silent for a moment, his intention wanted to help Reno and Nadya but now he was trapped.

"I've said, it's just a misunderstanding" Reno said.

"Why did you come alone, Mr. Surya?"

"I'm not alone, I'm with my son."

"Where is your wife and daughter named Marisa?"

"You just look for them, they're here too" Surya replied again.

"Excuse me" Reno said while protecting Nadya trying to escape from the crowd of reporters.

They also walked along to the hotel ballroom where the event took place. Nadya's eyes swept around as soon as she and Reno passed through the entrance.

Almost all of those present were upper class people, their appearance showed who they were. Nadya suddenly felt small, almost all the women there dressed up beautifully and wore clothes that showed off their curves, although not a few also wore hijab like her.

"Don't bow your head, look ahead and don't be afraid, Mas is with you" Reno whispered.

It was only the first time Nadya had come to an event like this, but Nadya did not want to humiliate Reno, her two in-laws as well as her father. So Nadya would listen to everything Reno directed for her.

With her arms around her husband's arms, Nadya ventured forward and straightened her body. She is now Reno's legitimate wife, why should she be afraid of people's scorn of her.

"Thank you." a man's voice surprised the pair of eyes that kept stalking Reno, the man she wanted.

"Hi Jasmine." said the man.

"Unexpectedly, it turns out we are one table" he said again and then chuckled.

She is Yuda, an assistant who is also Reno's best friend, who also got an invitation to attend the event tonight. And who would have thought that she was placed one table with Jasmine, the woman whom she was targeting to approach, even though Reno had already reminded her to be careful.

Every guest present at tonight's ceremony has prepared a seat arranged by the organizer. They could not choose who they would sit with, and it was unexpected that it was a coincidence that this evening Nadya and Reno were one table with Anjas and Naura. Reno's wife was quite calm, at least she had a friend to talk to during the event.

"Anjas, Naira." said Nadya.

That's how close Nadya and Naira are, even though they both know what Anjas feels like to Nadya. But Naira doesn't blame Nadya, she feels she's the third person to stand in the way of Nadya and Anjas being together. Moreover, Nadya did not show a hostile attitude to him, even Nadya who became the place to complain about Anjas.

"Thank God, it turns out we are one table" said Naira relieved because she also felt there were friends.

While Reno and Anjas only shook hands, this time Reno met face to face with Nadya's best friend. If Nadya can accept her past with Marisa, then Reno will also make peace with Nadya's past with Anjas.

There was acoustic music as their entertainment tonight. The singer sings a song whose lyrics are familiar to Nadya's ears, this is a song of her memories with Anjas. The two stared at each other, then they threw smiles at each other. Songs that remind, if they can't be together as a couple.

Nadya's hand reflexively squeezes Reno's hand which continues to be linked to her hand. Staring at her husband's face, convinced Reno's heart is the owner of his heart at this time.

"What's wrong?" asked Reno who realized the wife continued to look at him closely.

"Don't leave Dya, Mas." said Nadya slowly.

"No." replied Reno while stroking his wife's pretty face.

It was not only Jasmine who disliked the affection Reno had shown Nadya. In another corner, Marisa also noticed Reno's treatment that she never got during her time as the man's wife.

"I really don't like shows like this." whispered Naira in Nadya's ear.

Just as Nadya was about to respond to Naira's words, a man greeted them.

"Good night" said the man.

"Night." Reno and Anjas are greeting.

"Haikal." muttered Nadya inwardly knowing who the person who was also at the table with her.

Reno who knew Haikal shook the hand of his business partner, followed by Anjas who also knew Haikal who was none other than Naira's cousin. While Nadya only ask me both hands pay respect.

"It turns out I'm at a table with my sister and sister-in-law" Haikal said.

"Where is Brother's fiancee?" ask Naira.

Haikal did not answer Naira's question, he knew his cousin's sister was insinuating him who kept stealing glances at Nadya.

The event ended by announcing the collected charity funds. Reno invites Nadya to go straight home, but Nadya asks permission to go to the toilet for a while.

"Mas inter." haggard Reno but Nadya refused.

"Just be alone."

Looking at Reno herself, Jasmine walked up to Nadya's husband. He invites Reno to talk even though Reno won but only just that. Nadya's husband was a little agitated because Nadya did not return from the toilet, until Jasmine left him for a call.

"Hello I'll be there." replied Jasmine who Reno could still hear.

"Yes. Nadja. Honey." call Reno as soon as she's in front of the ladies' room.

There was no word from the inside, Reno ventured to push the toilet door. There's no one in there.

"Where are you, baby?" ask Reno to herself.

Reno's phone rang, "Right to the fifth floor" Yuda said as soon as Reno answered.

"What's wrong?" ask Reno.

"Hurry up if you want to save your wife" replied Yuda.

Not wanting to buy time, Reno ran towards the elevator. It was fortunate that the elevator was empty so Reno could go straight in and hit number five. Arriving at the fifth floor Reno immediately got out of the elevator and Reno felt her body being pulled by someone.
