Chapter 43. The Stares of Two Men

"What happened to Zam?" surya asked with an irregular heartbeat. She does not yet know why Nadya was being treated and now doctors seem to be in a hurry to check on her mother. Surya's heart pounded back irregularly, his hands were cold and his body seemed to tremble. Truly Surya feels that he is being tested by trials and Surya is aware of all the powerful reproof of his past sins.

"Azam doesn't know. Last time Azam saw grandma was still unconscious." replied Azam.

"When did you last see Grandma?" surya asked as he stared fixedly at his only son.

"Twenty minutes ago, less" Azam answered, looking back at his father, who was staring at him.

"We just pray yes, may grandma be aware and can tell what happened" said Azam grabbed his father's trembling hand.

"What's Zam?" Leo who happened to pass by asked Azam.

"Sister Leo, do you know why the doctors and nurses rushed to the grandmother's room?" instead of answering Azam just asked back who immediately answered the ring by Leo.

"Why don't you come in and see what the doctor is doing?" ask Leo again.

Azam patted his forehead. Too panicked to see people running in the room of the grandmother makes Azam so slow in thinking.

"Let's see." take Leo.

The three walked over to the door of Grandma Rosa's room. It was seen the doctor was still checking the state of the patient and the nurse was busy helping.

"Grandmother is conscious!" azam shouted at the door, forgetting that he was in the hospital. Azam saw Rosa the grandmother had opened her eyes when the doctor who examined Rosa's grandmother shifted from her original position.

Azam's loud voice rang out to the hospital room where Nadya was treated.

"Grandmother Mas" said Nadya who was very familiar with the voice of Azam who shouted.

"Yes want to see and see grandma" said Nadya again.

"Before a minute, dear, let Mas see first in the grandmother's room. All of you take a wheelchair for you." reply Reno who immediately got a nod from Nadya.

It was not only Nadya who wanted to know the state of Rosa, Haris and Dina also immediately wanted to know what happened.

"Reno, Mama's coming" said Mama Dina as Reno was about to walk away.

"How is Rosa's mother" Leo asked to divert their previous discussion.

"All normal Doc, no one's worried" replied the nurse.

Before long, the doctor who examined Rosa's grandmother was done with her activities. Leo came closer to ask.

"How's Doc?" ask Leo.

"Everything's normal, but we still have to test whether there's leftover poison or not" said the doctor who handled Rosa's grandmother.

"Do your best for the patient" Leo said, patting the back of the doctor who treated Rosa's grandmother. The doctor immediately nodded at what Leo said. What Leo said was the same as the command he had to do, a superior ordered his subordinates.

"Sir, what's going on now?" ask Leo to Rosa's grandmother.

"Grandmother still feels dizzy, son Leo." replied Grandma Rosa.

Leo spoke to Rosa. Nuri takes the opportunity to talk to Azam and Surya's father. He told her what Nadya had told him. Of course after Nuri told him about the people who entrusted drugs and money to him that he still keeps at this time.

"You go back home. But after I saw Nadya."

What Surya said reached Leo's ear, for he had been searching for Nadya. Leo couldn't lie to his heart that shook when he saw Nadya, it was still the same as it was seven years ago.

"So what's the good news, Ren?" ask Surya's father who was curious. Not only Surya's father, Leo was also curious to know.

"We'll be grandfathers, Sur." Papa Haris replied.

"And Grandma will be a great-grandmother" Reno told Rosa.

"Is this really my son?" ask grandma Rosa doesn't believe it.

"Of course it's true. If it's not true, how can I be this happy?"

"Congratulations Om." Leo's congratulatory voice made Reno realize there was someone other than their family in this room.

Honestly Reno does not like the existence of Leo, moreover Reno recognizes the look of the eyes emitted by Leo is a look of love when he sees his wife. Reno doesn't like that, she doesn't want any other guy to love Nadya. Nadya can only be loved by Reno and Nadya's love is only for Reno.

'Nadya that's my wife, don't try to take it from me.' Reno's heart said.

'Nadya the woman I loved a long time ago even though she never knew, don't try to hurt her. If that happens then I'll take it from you.' Leo's heart speaks.

"Dad wants to see Dya" said Surya who stopped the sharp gaze of the two men who loved Nadya.

"Reno between Yah." said Reno.

Surya's father nods his daughter-in-law's words, a sign he agrees with the son-in-law's offer. Now the two walked together to Nadya's room followed by Leo who followed behind them. While papa Haris greeted grandmother Rosa to ask the old woman's condition. Mama Dina asked Papa Haris to make sure that Rosa's grandmother was okay.

Azam approached papa Haris and went back to discussing what Nuri had told him before and Nadya's desire to investigate the drug.

"Papa agreed with Dya's opinion. Does Reno know?"

Azam shook his head, "No time to talk Pa. Azam and Dad had just been told by Nuri, so they had not told Reno yet" Azam replied.

"Then we take Reno to Nadya's room. Nuri, you take care of grandma." said papa Haris.

"Well sir." replied Nuri quickly.

Arriving in front of Nadya's nursery door, Reno stopped her steps before opening the door. He turned around and spoke to Leo.

"Can you wait a minute Doc? Sorry is not meant to be disrespectful, I just want to make sure, my wife has closed her aura" said Reno.

Actually Leo was offended, but he couldn't blame Reno. As a husband of course Reno must take good care of his wife and Leo knows it.

"Please, I'll wait" Leo replied at last.

Reno smiled and Leo knew it was a triumphant smile. Reno is indeed the winner, in fact they will have children and Leo can only regret not telling about his feelings earlier on Nadya.
