The man who was a few years older than me, probably mid-20 years old, launched his fist unhesitatingly that pointed towards my face. Compared to when I faced someone from a mercenary when I was still on the run, I can still see the movements of this person.
I dodged the outside of the punch by slightly leaning forward. It made a wide gap in the man all over the side of his body.
In general, the basic punch technique that exists in many martial arts is called Hook.
One blow I landed on the man's ribs made him slightly pushed to the side, while his hands immediately held the part of his body that had just been hit. He slowly collapsed, then curled up on the ground while groaning in pain.
Hm, is it possible that I was right about his weak point? I don't know.
"This madman," the other looked at me sharply, yet seemed hesitant to attack. "W-who exactly are you?! Why interfere with our business?!"
I walked up to him while thinking about my reason for helping an unknown person. True, I don't know the exact reason. Why would I help a young man whose face I haven't even seen at all? Ah, strangely my body feels hot, full of turbulent energy. For some reason, it felt satisfying when my punch managed to make one person curl up in pain.
He clicked his tongue, before shouting to spill his emotions while moving forward towards me.
The same attack again, he was truly a delinquent who relied solely on intimidation and numbers. He had absolutely no fighting techniques. Therefore, I was able to back away from the side very easily. This time, I did a side-kick aimed at her upper abdomen.
"Gah!!"
I glanced at the young man who was the victim. In the condition of his head slightly lowered, he seemed to force himself to look at me even though his eyelids would close at any time. He sat down lethargicly leaning against the wall of the building.
While walking out of the narrow alley, I said, "Other times, try to be bolder."
The advice I gave him was inappropriate to come out of my mouth, which for years had been terrified by my own shadow. I was able to get out of that circle because I got some really great help from the System. Even so, my advice was basically aimed at myself.
For reasons I don't know, I don't feel any more fear of anything. Usually, even taking a leisurely walk in a crowded place makes me depressed.
That feeling was gone without me knowing.
However, since the last day of Valentine's Day celebrations, I have always been worried about the unknown. I know this feeling is not caused by crowds or social issues, nor is it caused by the end of the celebration. After all, even though the celebration had ended, I was still able to meet Bianca. Maybe I'll find a chance to get closer to him, get to know him further, it can be done as long as I and him are not in a different world.
The world is narrow, the opportunity to meet each other can occur at any time even though it was separated by distance.
So why should I worry about that?
"This is the Adventurers Union, the building is indeed very striking, yes," I murmured softly as I subconsciously reached the front of the building which had three floors with a building width that was equivalent to three to four average building sizes I saw along the way.
On the front of the building, coinciding on the second floor, there was a large square-length board engraved on the surface of the stylized inscription. The square board underneath had an engraving of a combination of weaponry, such as a shield that was right in the middle, a sword that crossed in front of it, a proper spear cutting through the crossing point of the sword, and a cross point of the sword, and bows on both sides of the shield.
Many people went in and out of the doors of the Adventurers Union. Viewed directly, the adventurers looked impressive with the diversity of weaponry they were wearing. As far as I can tell, no one has modern weapons.
This is another world.
I catch my breath first, before actually getting into it.
Seen from the outside alone, the Adventurers Union building had appeared to be of a large size. Inside it is even more impressive. In addition to the many people who have their own busy lives, the interior design also fascinates me.
From this ground floor, I can see a small part of the second floor ceiling. That's because in the middle of the ground floor ceiling there is a large circular hole in the center of the circle there is a bright blue rock that continues to rotate consistently. I could see fine, translucent streaks moving from the perimeter of the circle to the rock.
"See that! The equipment is so shiny. Is he a veteran adventurer?"
"Yes my. I want to touch that armor!"
My attention was once again distracted from admiring the interior of the Adventurers Guild building by hearing the voices of adventurers conversing around. I realized that a lot of people were looking at me.
A reception desk I accidentally saw, so I sped up my footsteps to get there to do the registration.
In a very crowded place, let alone attracting a lot of attention, made my heart beat fast. Regardless of what expression my face showed, I was lucky that I had put on the Full Paladin Armory before entering the Adventurers Guild building. Although in a situation that should have been more stressful than this, as I had experienced before arriving in Lopentine City, I was still not so used to the crowd.
"Can I help you, sir?"
"Ah, yes. Can I sign up to be an adventurer?"
"certain. Wait a minute, yeah."
The woman wearing the typical uniform of an administrative worker took out some sheets of paper handed to me.
"Please read the contract first. If you have agreed to the policy provided by us, you can fill out this form," he handed me another piece of paper containing contents regarding identity, ability, and others.
I was nervous about the letters I needed to write.
It's true that all this time I was somehow able to read foreign letters.
I think this includes the help provided by the System. After all, from the very beginning I was even able to understand what the people of this world were saying.
It is like an automatic translation service. Not only does it happen to what I hear, though, but also the foreign letters I saw would turn into letters that I recognized when my gaze focused on one word before turning into the initial letter after I saw the next word.
After reading his contract, I started to fill out the registration form. Apparently, I'm worried about unnecessary things.
Each time I finished writing one word, the letters were changed to foreign letters.
"It's rare for a registrant to wear full gear like you" the receptionist said as I was filling out a form. "Moreover, it seems that the armor you wear has a high selling value. Your background should be special."
I laughed a little at it. Let him guess about my background.
The receptionist brought herself closer to me, staring fixedly at my eyes. "For that, be careful. You will most likely be bullied by senior adventurers."
Ah, so he gave me a warning. It's true, I can feel many sharp gazes from various directions since I was in this ground floor building. Even when I was in the corner of the room to read more carefully the heralded labor contract, the sharp gazes of the people still felt. It makes me want to get out of here. I'm really sorry for wearing such a flashy weaponry.
I let out a long sigh after signing the employment contract section as well as the registration form. Then I handed over the entire document.
"Well, thanks for the cooperation," he slightly bowed.
"We will process the registration. At the latest tomorrow, you can receive the adventurer badge."
Unexpectedly, the registration to become an adventurer would be that fast. So far, I have found no feasibility test or anything like that, which can certainly be used as part of the registration process before it is actually accepted. Could it be just this far? But, I am grateful for the simplicity of the procedure. So, I can get out of this place soon.
"Well," I'm finally out. But, I didn't realize that the group of adventurers who kept watching me were secretly planning something.
