Mercenary Systems: The Eternal Life
Chapter 27 The Unexpected Ease

The arrival of three strangers forced me to stop to punish the delinquents. From his appearance, he could not be ignored. It could be that he was a noble and if not even at least he was someone who had some influence. I can feel the pressure from him.

After all, my arbitrary actions of punishing the bad guy even on the victim side, from the point of view of the person who does not see the whole incident will cause misunderstanding.

"Hm ... Is it possible that you were robbed by them?" The man observed the delinquents who were still wrapped by black hands, before looking at me with a condescending look.

I snorted loudly. "Are you a security guard?"

"Not."

"So, I don't think I need to answer your question" said I, who gave no pause as soon as he answered my question. I stood right in front of him, staring back at the pair of blue eyes sharply. "I hope you don't meddle with the problems that are going on here any more than you interfere with our time."

I tried to ignore it by turning around, walking up to the man who was at the right end of the line. Apparently, the man was still standing in his original place. I'm the one who's gonna be the delinquent's nightmare still haven't started punishing them.

"Can you guys get out of here? You guys are so annoying," I said without looking back after sighing softly.

A deep sound of laughter, like being carried away by the night breeze, rang out.

My body was a little jolted when suddenly someone touched my shoulder, but I did not hear footsteps. Although it was not heard though, I should have been able to sense that someone was approaching. My instincts have been slightly forged while on the way to this city.

However, a journey that takes up to days through the wilderness is not easy to do. I did not feel the physical excess fatigue of having high vitality, but it was still mentally draining because I had to stay alert even when sleeping though. By traveling with a woman, I could not possibly hand over the responsibility of guarding to her.

When I was in this city, I began to realize that I could sense the presence of living beings around me for a few steps. Of course, for smaller details like insects, I would rather ignore them.

So, how could this fellow escape my sixth sense? Unless he has the ability to sneak properly, or he has strength far above me, or with the possibility of anything else, he cannot be ignored. I didn't expect him to be easy to hear.

"Yes my. Look at this young man, are you the landlord here? Hm ...?"

Hearing that whisper, my hair stood up straight. After all, during this short time, my anger began to subside. Remember, I do not have the power to drive others out of this path.

"I want to be here or not, that's my business, isn't it?"

He looked at me from the side at a distance close enough to a gaze so piercing that it made it difficult for me to breathe.

Judging from anywhere, his words were not wrong.

Come to think of it, Bianca is fine, it should be grateful that destiny led me to walk through this path. They might endanger Bianca again in the future, but I can make them deterred in a better way next time. At that time, I intend to become stronger so as not to have trouble facing similar situations.

"Then spend all your time here" I said slowly.

I walked towards Bianca, before inviting her to leave without looking back. What he thinks of the situation, I don't know. He may not hold a grudge, or may also harbour it secretly, however he is the true victim of the crime. His face was hard to read.

After driving Bianca back to where she was staying, I also went home because there was no more business.

To be able to become an official adventurer, I need to at least complete three different types of missions. According to the advice of the receptionist lady, the first mission could start from a material gathering mission, then proceed with a hunt for demon beasts or low-level monsters, before ending with an escort.

"Adventures usually take all three types of missions, of course, each mission has a different level of difficulty. The submission of these three types of missions is higher than other types of missions." That's what Alma said, the name of the receptionist lady.

He said he forgot to introduce himself yesterday.

"Good luck on your first mission, Mr. Kaellan," Alma waved at my departure with a sweet smile.

Something made me even more excited to complete the mission. This screen in front of me that no one but me could see was a blue half-translucent screen that contained the Quest list. Among those Quests, the same Quest appeared as the mission I took on the mission board.

[Mission from Adventurers Union, collect 25 blue sparks (25 Quest Points)]

Anyway, in the upper right corner of my vision, there's a place for the System to tell me new news, so, so, I can tell the appearance of the new Quest that coincidentally caught my attention when I saw the subject of the Quest.

Compared to the rewards from the System, the rewards given from the Adventurers Union were nothing.

"Could it be that a Quest would appear every time I take on a mission in the Adventurers Guild?"

Just thinking about it made me want to immediately become an official adventurer so that I could begin to experience growth in my adventurer ranking. That way, I will be able to start taking on more difficult missions as my rank grows as an adventurer. The more difficult the mission is to take, the greater the rewards I will get from the System.

In a place where there were no vehicles other than mounts and horse carriages, I walked on foot to travel from one place to another. It takes about an hour to get to the Lopentine Gate.

I showed my adventurer badge to the gatekeeper. My adventurer badge was checked using some kind of magic tool, before it was returned to me.

"You can go, sir."

"good. Thank you," I nodded slowly.

Before I actually left, I read a Floripedia book loaned by Alma as a provision for missions. From the information I got, the blue sparks were to the southeast of the Lopentine Gate. There, I will find a forest that is quite dark because of the very dense foliage.

Blue sparks will grow a lot in places that are not exposed to sunlight.

"Two hours on foot, yes. Pretty close too."

The old me will be lazy to walk for up to two hours. My feet would feel very sore if I did it one way. But for me now, walking for two hours is nothing.

In accordance with the mission level, collecting blue sparks is very easy. Nothing is dangerous. So, I was able to return to the city the next three hours by bringing the blue sparks as requested. With my success, I smiled very broadly.

"I don't think I'll get this many Quest Points so easily."
