Milaine's breath seemed to stop. His heart was pounding to hear Conrad's serious words. Then Milaine tried to calm down while arranging the contents of the mind.
"Dad killed him? Who's dealing with Birdella? And who's been terrorizing us all this time? Why am I their target? Actually, what's going on here? I don't understand at all."
Milaine asked Conrad a series of questions. The father seemed confused to answer Milaine's question.
"That's what I'm investigating right now. Very suspicious, right? Why are you and Nigel the only ones targeted for their murder? I'm just like you. Not understanding what their plan is. So, Milaine, be patient until I find out who is the real mastermind behind all this" Conrad said firmly.
"All right then. I will also help investigate. At least, now my curiosity is a little more spacious. Sorry for interrupting your precious time."
Milaine bowed apologizing to Conrad.
"Yes, forget it. Oh, yeah, have you eaten?"
"Yet. I haven't eaten."
Conrad smiled faintly. "How about we eat together at the restaurant? Incidentally, I haven't eaten anything since, either" Conrad said.
Without thinking, Milaine replied, "Alright, Dad. I'll come with you to eat at the restaurant."
The two of them finally went to the nearby restaurant of the company. Conrad doesn't usually eat with his only daughter. Of course this is the main center of attention without them knowing. What's more, there's Lisbeth's spy monitoring the movements of the two men.
Lisbeth went berserk when she found out. His mood worsened from hearing reports from his spies.
Lisbeth was pacing back and forth to and fro thinking about the next step to get rid of Milaine. He was unwilling to let the girl linger in this residence.
"I have to think of another way to kill Milaine. Yeah, I made sure this time's plan took the girl's life."
Meanwhile, Milaine returns to the mansion after eating at the restaurant. He was surprised to see Nigel already in the mansion. Her sister was no longer hospitalized and was allowed to go home by doctors.
"Sister, why did you come home so long ago?" ask Nigel.
Milaine came home in a sky that had sunk into the darkness of night. There were so many things that he went through today that he forgot the time to go home.
"I'm sorry. I finished an important business outside. How are you doing now? Did the doctor say your condition is improving?"
Nigel nodded cheerfully. "Yes, the doctor said I might be fine for a while. I'm glad to be back in the mansion again and meet Brother."
Milaine commented a thin smile while gently rubbing the top of Nigel's head.
"I'm also happy to see you again. I hope your illness is cured soon, my sister."
Then they entered the pavilion. They talked to each other until the end of the night. Milaine accidentally accompanies Nigel at her sister's request until she falls asleep.
'Anyway, Nigel's life has to be better than mine. My sister is the only one I care about, she is the reason why I have survived until now.'
