Chapter 8 - News

"Ma, Icad's home."

Richard's baritone voice rang out in Helen's ear. He also approached his son.

"I remember the house. Mama thought she would stay for up to a week" Helen said, insinuating Richard, who was out of town for 3 days.

"Ma, please. There's a sudden business there" Richard argued.

"Yes, yes, yes, my mother believed. Clean your body before you meet Elnan."

Helen already understood the behavior of Richard who always approached Elnan's room after returning from work.

Richard who was being advised like that snorted in annoyance. How not? He misses his son so much.

"Well, I take a shower, ma'am" replied Richard."

Helen nodded. Richard walked up the stairs and headed to his room. However, before that, he peeked into Elnan's room and saw Naya interacting with Elnan. Seeing such a scene, made Richard's heart warm. He went into his room and cleaned his body.

Day after day has passed. Since Naya became the mother of Elnan's milk, she has become very fond of the little baby. He even considered Elnan as his own son.

"So dear to you, Elnan. I can't wait for you to talk and run."

Naya unconsciously said such a thing. In fact, he forgot, if he would only be a mother of milk until Elnan no longer needed breast milk. If only until Elnan was 2 years old.

"Elnan take a bath first, so that his body smells."

Elnan, the little baby likes what is called water. When taking a bath, he always wanted to linger even he would cry if Naya lifted him from the bath.

Richard was astonished at himself. What is his charm as a man that many women love has faded? Or indeed Naya's blurry eyes can't see her above-normal good looks?

"Woman is weird."

It seemed like Richard did not know at all about this news. Shouldn't I just tell you? But, if not told, she's afraid she's going berserk and doing crazy things like one year ago.

"Ethan, hey why are you quiet?"

Richard's voice just roused him from the heart debate he was having. Ethan sighed trying to prepare himself before the time bomb went off by itself.

Ethan gave Richard his phone. Richard was confused himself. What happened to this other friend? He already has a cell phone. Why did his best friend give him a cell phone? One mobile store can be bought.

"See the contents," Ethan ordered. Richard finally understood.

Richard picks up Ethan's cell phone, then sees the news Ethan is referring to.

'Denada Scarlett, a famous model who is known to be the former fiance of a wealthy young businessman, Richard Kavindra is now officially engaged to a young businessman from France.'

Ethan has been watching Richard's face ever since he gave him his cell phone. He just wished Richard had completely forgotten about the woman. Because all he knew, Richard still loved the woman.

"Rich, are you okay?" ask Ethan.

"Yes, I'm good."

It was this answer that made Ethan worried. Richard always hid his feelings. He will be honest when he is drunk. Ethan makes a plan for Richard to go to the bar.

"Rich," call Ethan.

"Hmm" replied Richard.

"Are you all right?" ask Ethan again.

"Hm. Just relax."

"Good then. We'll meet up tonight at Alex's. Don't let you not come. I'm going first. Good job."

Ethan patted Richard's shoulder slowly and immediately left Richard's room. What do you think Ethan defines a friend as? Come give bad news, after it's gone. Just a reminder of the past that has been buried and then appeared to the surface.

Richard remained silent. There's inner upheaval in there. Between telling the truth or finding out the truth.

Unknowingly tears fell down Helen's cheeks. The painful memory seemed to haunt Helen every time she remembered Elnan and Richard.

Helen worked hard for Richard and Elnan. So that they can both live their lives. If he looks weak, maybe even Elnan and Richard will be weak. Losing someone who is loved is very painful especially in an abandoned position. The pain feels so great.
