Not My Baby

Not My Baby
30. Bonding

Davendra Darmawangsa could not take her eyes off a beautiful woman in a wedding dress wrapped around her body there, Viona Calista walked slowly with her father leading her to the altar.

The girl smiled even though her heart ached when the father who had been throwing her drove her to the wedding altar.

"You're great at attracting the attention of a Darmawangsa boy, your life will be assured in the future." Adam tried to get his biological daughter to talk, since then the little girl just smiled as if happy with him.

Though she knew that if Viona held back the anger in her heart, that was why the girl would not invite her to speak in the slightest.

Until they arrived at the altar, Viona did not open her mouth to speak to her father.

"Mr Davendra, I leave my daughter .. the only one to you." Adam put his daughter's hand over Dave's, the middle-aged man clasped both hands tightly before releasing them.

Why did he realize that in addition to his stepdaughter at home he also had a biological daughter who had been dangling from childhood without attention from him? Only when the little girl was about to let go of her bachelorhood did she realize the whereabouts of her daughter.

"I'll take better care of him than you, Mr. Adam."

Viona did not let go of the smile on her lips, though, people who saw it might think that Viona was very happy in between by her father to the woman when originally the girl refrained from berating her father in public.

Dave takes Viona to the priest waiting for them at the altar, while Adam returns to the seat where his wife and daughter are waiting.

"Sir Adam, I didn't expect you to have another daughter besides Bianca and Naura?" A co-worker who knew Adam tried to extract information from the man.

"Viona doesn't like being the center of attention, so I hide it." The man replied lying, how can he answer honestly if Viona has been kicked out of the house?

"really so? An acquaintance of mine once saw Viona working at Darmawangsa's restaurant, is that true?"

"Excuse me?"

Those who had tried to corner Adam could not dwell when Winata came to them.

"Don't try to make weird rumors for my son-in-law." The woman spoke in a friendly manner, but people certainly knew that what Winata said was not just ordinary words, but a threat that could have destroyed their careers.

"Hahaha, forgive us madam. We just asked," they laughed awkwardly. Adam who felt helped could breathe a sigh of relief. There is a good thing to be in a relationship with the Darmawangsa family, no one dared to disturb them.

"Enjoy your time, I'll excuse you." Winata walks past those who almost made a fuss at his son's wedding.

Both of his eyes squinted as he passed by Lalita as well as his two daughters. The two greeted Winata but unfortunately the middle-aged woman was just whining.

"It was so arrogant of the old woman" Naura said as the mother of Davendra passed from before them.

Lalita nudged her daughter's arm, "just in case you're talking, kid, there's a lot of ears that can hear you say that." Lalita whispered softly to her eldest daughter.

Everyone was back to focus on the couple up ahead, Davendra clasped his wife's hands a few minutes ago and pinned the ring to her ring finger.

"God bless the marriage of you both."

Viona does not know how to behave, she wants to be happy but this marriage is not her desire. Even sad he did not feel that way, because this marriage made him will be bound with Arka for eternity.

"What's wrong?" Dave was aware of the unease his wife had felt ever since they made the sacred promise a moment ago.

Viona looked up then shook her head to answer Davendra's question.

Dave's long finger raised his wife's chin, "what's wrong?"

Viona couldn't take her eyes off the man who was already her husband, why is Dave so handsome today?

"No kissing?" Somehow the ridiculous thought just crossed Viona's mind, because usually she watched a couple of brides would kiss after saying an appointment.

Dave smiled faintly, the man removed both his hands from their grasp then he dropped his hands to hug the periphery of Viona's waist. The man pulled Viona's body closer to close close the bodies of the two of them intimately.

"Without a kiss our marriage is perfect" he whispered softly beside the wife's ear. A kiss is a consummation of a marriage that is usually done after making a sacred promise, but not everyone does it in public like this. Including himself Dave does not like to indulge in intimacy in front of everyone.

Dave raises Viona's chin so that the girl stares at her focus, as their two eyes intertwine with Viona's unable to look at Dave's face this close. That's why the girl turned her face to the unlucky side she just realized that everyone's eyes were on her and Dave's.

How could he forget that he and Dave were at the altar? Everyone was staring at the two of them up there.

"D-dave away," Viona pushes Dave's large body to give them some distance, but instead of moving away Dave cupped Viona's face with the hand that was originally perched on the girl's waist.

The cup! The sweet kiss that Dave so gently gave on the forehead of the wife, the man did not want on his wedding day Viona thought much of useless things like the kiss that he did not give before.

The thunderous applause that filled the room rang out in the ears of the couple up there, Viona closed her eyes so tightly she held back the shame and happiness that words could not explain.

She also heard her mother-in-law's screams down there, as though the grandmother of Arka was ashamed to see her son and daughter-in-law kissing up there.

"I told you not to kiss in front of everyone! That kid!" Gerrutu Winata was upset that Dave had not heard his words not to do that there.

"Look, don't copy your father's behavior, okay?" Winata tried to talk to his granddaughter, but unfortunately the grandson also laughed so happy to see his father and mother united up there.

"Congratulations to your marriage, Mr. Davendra and Miss Viona," a close colleague of Dave came to them both while they were at the food stand.

Dave accompanies his wife to take food there, Viona has been starving since morning but everyone forbids her to eat out of fear that her stomach will bloat and hurt later during the wedding ceremony.

Viona doesn't know who greeted her and Dave, but she still smiles kindly in honor of her husband's guest.

"Thank you, Mr. Vero, congratulations on your wife's pregnancy." Dave did hear that Vero's wife Pita was pregnant with their first child.

The man laughed

"Miss, if not busy you can play to our house. My wife is often lonely at home,"

"I'll try." replied Viona unsure

Dave himself looks not like, "you're wrong to invite the bride to the house in the time of the newlyweds master."

Vero gulped his hard-earned saliva, it seemed like he made a mistake that made Dave express himself loudly like that.

Viona clasped her husband's hands gently, the man turned to his wife and immediately greeted Viona's sweet smile.

"Please excuse me, ladies and gentlemen."

Vero went from there in a hurry, not wanting to re-offend the couple who were in a drunken romance there.

"Why are you talking like that?" Viona talks to Dave after a guy named Vero leaves.

"Speak like what?" Dave raised his eyebrows cluelessly, it didn't seem like he was saying any offensive words.

Viona snorted there was no point in talking to a man who was never wrong like Davendra. Viona does not answer her husband's questions, the girl prefers to busy herself with various foods on the table.

"We meet again, Mr. Dave!"

The couple turned their heads towards the source of the voice, no longer Dave who was not in the mood to face his interlocutor then now Viona also felt the same.

Bianca, why is that girl here?
