Not My Baby

Not My Baby
32. First Night

The party was over the guests had gone to their respective homes, only the waiter was busy cleaning up the remnants of the reception that was previously held.

Darmawangsa residence became Dave's choice to do a wedding reception, the reason why he did not do it in his own residence was because the man did not want others to set foot in his house.

Goddamn it, the man sacrificed his mother's house rather than his own.

Other than the servants, there were also people who were still in the trial in the living room.

Davendra and Viona get a long talk from her mother for deliberately leaving the party just because they can't stand to spend the first night with her wife.

"Vioi." Vienna called his son-in-law

"Huh-yes?"

"From boy," Winata told the girl to move nearby.

Viona did not refuse the girl obediently sitting next to her mother-in-law.

"You're okay, right?"

"Eh?"

Wianta let out a long sigh, it was fortunate that he heard Viona's cry from inside the room otherwise he would have not found the two sons until now.

"Other times if Dave forces like that, just hit him in the head!" the sharp glances the middle-aged woman gave to her son.

Viona laughed a little, it turns out that there are mothers who defend other people's children more than their own children. And as a princess who has never been in martial arts it seems like she is very happy to be here.

Viona clasped Winata's hands tightly together.

"Mother thank you for worrying about me," Viona's sincere smile gave this woman in front of her.

"Now I'm not going to be afraid of anyone anymore because there's a mother who's going to protect me." The two girls eyes glazed over, after a long time there was finally someone else who would protect her.

Viona always survives by protecting herself and others, but unfortunately everything she does always fails. Losing a mother is the beginning of his life's failure, then losing Aruna is the biggest failure he ever did because he could not protect his best friend.

"You are part of the Darmawangsa family, boy, from now on people will be afraid of you." Winata rubbed the clear liquid running down her daughter-in-law's cheek.

"Now go to sleep? Dave take your wife to rest" he told the son.

"Come on." Dave extended his hand to Viona.

Not immediately taking the grip, Viona first turned to her in-laws. With a big smile he finally received a helping hand from Dave.

"Good night, ma'am" said the couple in unison.

Winata nodded, "good night."

.

.

The sound of the wall clock is heard every second, the night is so silent featuring the moonlight so bright up into the room. The sky was so bright as to describe the happiness that had just intertwined a moment ago.

But unfortunately the bright sky is not the same as the state of a pair of brides who are currently sitting far apart. The condition of both of them looks gloomy inversely proportional to the condition of the sky that is so bright out there.

After cleaning herself in the bathroom, Viona did not move from the sofa she had been sitting on. The girl seemed to keep her distance from Dave.

The man had already changed his clothes in matching sleeping pajamas with Viona's, sitting leaning on the head of the bed while continuing to stare at his wife from the bed.

"Aren't you sleepy?" Dave's deep voice makes Viona's hair bristle. The shadow that Dave would come back to crush him like in the boyhood room of that man again disturbed his mind.

"Just sleep first, mm ... I-I'll be later," said the girl holding back her nervousness.

Dave breathed a deep breath, it was his fault that made Viona afraid to get close to him. For that he must repair his relationship with his wife first at this time

"Cabin." Viona stiffens as Dave tells her to approach the man.

Viona's reflexes shook her head in response.

"There's not going to be anything like Viona, I just want to talk" Dave said.

Although hesitant but Viona finally complied with her husband's request, if in thought she should not refuse the husband's request alone?

Dave smiled with satisfaction as Viona filled the mattress next to him, the man immediately pulled the wife into his arms so that the girl would not run away from his embrace.

The two lay in bed hugging each other, rather Dave was the one who hugged Viona tightly and drowned the small body in his arms.

Viona held her breath in surprise at Dave's sudden treatment.

"Hm?" Dave looked down to see how his wife was expressioning. The girl hid her face around her husband's neck.

"Why do you like to hide your face?"

The man could feel the headband from Viona, not just hiding the girl now unwilling to open her voice.

"I'm not gonna do any honey, tonight we're just gonna talk all night."

Dave pulls her body so Viona loses her hiding place.

"You don't want to know anything about me?"

The girl fell silent, their relationship just intertwined all of a sudden. Of course there are many things they do not know about each other. As a wife, of course, Viona wants to know all about her husband.

Seeing Viona's response it seems the girl is interested in her offer, so Dave will not waste the opportunity.

Dave got up from his lying position, he chose to lean his body back on the head of the bed. Viona does the same, even the girl no longer refuses as Dave pulls her shoulders so that their bodies get closer.

"Who started first?"

"You," replied Viona

Dave nodded, "What's your hobby?" He started the first question.

Viona was silent for a moment before the girl finally shook her head.

"Nothing." Answer is shrewd

Dave doesn't ask, because he knows what makes Viona not have a single hobby in her life. Since the teenage girl was busy making money for her own life, then how could she have something she loved in her life?

"What about you?" This time it was Viona who started the conversation.

"work."

Viona flinched, what the hell is that?

"Is today's work a hobby?" Dave nodded quickly.

"Then my hobby works too?"

The silly question that Viona was asking made the man beside her giggle in anxiety. So anxious that he had unknowingly taken a kiss on the smooth cheek of the wife.

Viona held onto her cheek that Dave had just kissed, her eyes glaring in disbelief with the man's sudden action.

"Who told you to be cute?"

Seeing Viona being a badmood finally Dave stopped his laughter .

The man cleared his throat to normalize his facial expression as before.

"All right, let's continue,"

"How do you know Aruna?"

Silent for a few seconds but in the end Viona returned to voice.

"When we were little neighbors, maybe that's why we got close."

"You live near a parlour?"

Viona smiled faintly the girl nodded, "when mom was alive, we were living in the house that was around the parlour. But unfortunately it wasn't long, because mom had to leave forever."

Such a bad memory for Viona lived through in her childhood, losing her only loving parents and having to part with her best friend after the death of her mother. her father took her home and introduced her to his stepmother.

Dave leaned Viona's head against her shoulder, "it's your turn." Dave switched the conversation.

"What about you?"

Dave looked down to see what his wife was saying.

"hm?"

"How do you know Aruna?"
