One Love, One Heart

One Love, One Heart
33. The time that passed

It has been 10 months that I became a teacher in one of the Junior High School here, although the place I taught was not included in the interior, but it was still the worst in all of Indonesia from my observation.

Teaching and learning activities in the village or district here are still experiencing a shortage of teachers. Although the needs of teachers in Papua have been fulfilled, the distribution is uneven – most teachers are centralized in urban areas such as Jayapura, Timika, and Merauke.

" Nara gerotelo?” (What's the News) said village chief mace.(mace:ibu)

"Well, Mace" I said despite living here for 10 months I still have trouble communicating.

"Sleep already, just hold your eyes too much!"said Mace, (Sleep, don't stay up too much).

"Yes mace" I said as I tidied up the test sheets of my students.

A month of living here I almost gave up, but considering the last meeting with Nanda made me determined to stay away from her.In 4 months I have raised my hand but remember the agreement with my mother, I have, made me last until this time the 10th month.

"Why else is the village chief's mother ?"ask my roommate Widuri when I get into our room. "Throwing to sleep don't trade "my words.

"Father and mace are good people, dear have no children. Surely if you have children, their children are very dear to them" said Widuri.

"God knows best for his servant "my words.

"What about Doctor Aji, he seems to like you?"said it.

"It still seems to be uncertain what to do, I want to find a definite course" I said.

"Don't-don't Lo there are candidates so Lo's not interested in the doctor Aji" he said.

"Have gone to sleep at night said mace 'Sleep, don't stay up too much' "my words mimicked the mace that was met with laughter by him.

From Jakarta we were 10 people but we split up, I was only alone with Widuri teaching in Teluk Wondama Regency.

Unlike the usual night this night is very cold maybe because it rains again, let alone the rain falling from yesterday afternoon does not stop just drizzle for a while and continues to rain profusely again.

The phone alarm woke me up at dawn, "no water" I said as I felt my new feet coming down from the bed touching tears as high as my feet.

"Astaghfirullah floods "my words. Wake up thorns wake up in the flood" I said wake up Widuri while shaking her body that sleeps soundly.

"What the hell is still sleepy tau, cold again "say him while covering his body with a blanket.

"Flood ,begooo" I said as I tidied up my things.

"What "shouts him while sitting around looking around.

"You sort out your stuff I want to wake up mace and Father first" I said, after going out I immediately woke them but they instead told me to take a ride first with Widuri.

"Co they don't want to find a safe place huh, even tell us to kiss" said Widuri .

"Maybe you can't leave the house and property, some of you said the father was used to flooding just feet, the afternoon also went down "my words.

Widuri and I took all of our stuff to the school where we were teaching, the distance we used to take 20 minutes on foot.

"Bu Nia, Bu Widuri should children who have arrived at school in return only" said Mr. Yanto who just arrived. Pak Yanto, a PNS teacher, has been here for 3 years from East Java.

"Why sir, are we returning ?" I asked as I glanced at the new wall clock at 09:00 in the morning.

"Air upstream rose some villagers have been commemorated to be on standby, so the children told to go home aja bu" he said.

"How about this with the father and mace of the village head, surely now the water is as knee-deep as "say Widuri.

"Are we just there looking for them?"my many.

"It's crazy that there are people there just to get here to secure ourselves cook us there" said Widuri.

"Why are you still here let's all have to find a safe place" Yanto said.

Pov.Nanda

A week has passed since my birthday party, but I have not received any news about Aya's whereabouts, according to Toni Aya quit teaching and joined Indonesia teaching to become a teacher in the interior. I asked Daffa he also did not know, even he knew his brother went to follow the Indonesian program teaching also from me. Mr. Rahmat's attitude was not ordinary, there was no change, just the attitude of the mother who stayed away usually if I came she would greet me, but this Mother never looked every time I came to ask

because my mind is deadlocked and can not think, ahkirnya I asked for a solution to father, as a fellow man maybe father better understand what I feel.

"So Aya saw you kissing another woman, in other words you were caught cheating "talking dad while chuckling.

"I told my father everything to get the best solution not to be a laughing stock" I regretted.

"Have you asked her parents where she is?"ask dad.

"I asked Dafa, but Dafa only found out that his brother had gone to the Indonesian program to teach me. Being to ask the same Mr. Grace honestly I have no courage well, especially every time I go there Aya's mother who is usually very welcome even this never looks "complain me.

"Here you are wrong the main mission must apologize, but your busyness must be an obstacle because it is better for you to focus on completing your studies first is the main , looking for Aya is the second one so you search while completing your specialist education!" said father.

"Why don't you just help me with my dad's connection ?" ask Nanda.

"When your Mother left 2 times your father told your Mother, now it's your turn to feel it so that you can appreciate the importance of Aya for yourself and at the same time ensure your feelings are easily tempted" said the father.

"Am I asking you to help me?" I said I made my dad laugh.

"Don't expect your mother to help you, if she knows the cause of her fault lies with you" he said.

Aya's departure and my ignorance of her existence triggered me to study more vigorously, so as to finish my studies immediately.

"Congratulations now that I'm a surgeon, I'm proud of you" he said as we dined together.

"Why are you unhappy ?" ask Risa.

"He's still upset he can't find Aya" said the father, laughing mockingly.

"It's been 10 months Lo has not been able to find it "said Risa, "Lo know myself busy Iw, sleep aja have to steal the time "my misery.

"It's only been 10 months ask your father, how long to wait for mother" said the new mother came with a fruit snack for us.

" Aren't you volunteering in Papua?" ask me to switch the conversation. " Yes tomorrow to go, maybe there 2 Weeks" I said lethargic.

"If you want to help people must be sincere and full of enthusiasm," said Mother.

"Why haven't I waited 10 months to finish this, hoping to find out where Aya is soon" I said.

"That sincere brother pity the flood victims there, already 1 day more water has not been down and down "say father.

"What district is the worst?" ask Mommy. " The settlements in three districts in Teluk Wondama Regency, West Papua, namely Raisiei, Wondiboi, and Wasior according to the report there" I said.
