Our Story: The Sudden Chancellery

Our Story: The Sudden Chancellery
51. Tipsy

Now Gemma is sitting in a chair, in the middle of quiet and unknown people. There was nothing he remembered so now he was silent.

He had thought, maybe coming to this reunion is a bad idea so he felt that someone patted his back hard.

“Gem!”

“Diana?”

The pregnant woman immediately hugged Gemma without further ado. “Gue kangen very similar lo, I swear!”

Gemma was taken by Diana to her seat. The woman could not avoid Gala who was also sitting there. They tell each other about their lives while reminiscing.

While the woman was trying to blend into the conversation, her eyes occasionally glanced at Gala who also turned out to be stealing glances at her. It's just, not anymore with a seductive look. Gala's brown eyes looked at him with a concerned look.

Gemma hated that look. He doesn't need to be pitied, especially by Gala. Didn't he say he was happy with the marriage? It's a shame if the reverse reality is even found out.

Then he turned his eyes to the other friends. Erika who now looks very beautiful and happy.

Thus Diana who is increasingly chatty and energetic. Niko and Febri really know how to love their wives well. The sight was very bitter for Gemma, the wound in his heart felt increasingly gaping.

The show didn't last long. The focus of today's event is for reunions, so there are not many sessions going through, more free time where they can greet each other.

After the event and photo session, some of them did not go home immediately. Their conversation is not yet over.

Diana, Febri and Niko are quite chatty people and never run out of talking materials, so Gemma's silence is not too obvious.

“Photo first come on!” niko said, taking out her phone. Gemma who initially did not want to come in to take pictures, immediately pulled Diana, so inevitably, she smiled at the camera.

“Di..”

“Ya, what's up?”

Gemma actually wanted to talk to Diana a few times with four eyes. He wanted to spill all the grievances in his heart.

“Where is the content of lo, already looks the gender?” asked the woman in the end deviated from her initial intention earlier.

When looking at the condition of Diana now who looks very very happy, has a body of two and is excited to tell the experience of her pregnancy, she said,

Gemma feels very guilty that her heart will ruin the atmosphere. So the woman decided not to say anything and immediately moved from there.

“Gue home, guys.”

“Loh, really jerk? Not yet 9,” said Niko who wants to hold Gemma here.

Indra's wife took her bag and put it on her shoulder without explaining anything else about her quicker departure. “Gue first yes. Niko, Erik, Febri, Diana, Gala...

He couldn't stand being there. There were too many happy stories she heard back then and she couldn't stop comparing with her now languishing life.

Not divorced from Indra alone, she already felt like a widow. So bitter.

Arriving at the parking lot, a woman called her name. Gemma looked at the woman. Liu Melly. "Mels... Where are you going?"

Melly smiled gently as she sipped her vape. "Gue wants to go to the same club as kabak2. Lo mo coming?"

After a few seconds of thought, Gemma nodded, “Gue followed.”

“Ayo.”

Gemma followed Melly to the Club across the highway. Not far from the reunion. They are now sitting in a stool bar facing the bartender who is concocting drinks.

“Lo want soju?”

“Bby..”.

The bartender immediately gave me a bottle of soju and two slices in front of Melly and Gemma.

“Indeed, aren't you the same story as Diana? Aren't you familiar with him?”

Gemma simply smiled knots while gulping her soju. “That know this problem just elo, Mel.”

The single woman next to him also downed her drink. “Aduh. Your friends just don't know, uh even I'm not familiar with you will know. How can you not tell them the same story, anyway?”

“I think I've told you that? The same you also because accidentally, so I story.”

“Ya too anyway. Lo the guy is very flat. Keep going now, you want to do?”

“OK, try to stay sober yes. But if it's tipsy, we go home. I don't want to get drunk!”

“Deal.”

They also chat there with Melly's friends who are also friends at school. At least here Gemma can feel freer, because she does not meet people she hopes will understand her circumstances.

Time passes so fast. The club is getting more and more crowded.

I don't know how many glasses, Gemma doesn't remember at all. He only drinks and continues to drink despite Melly's warning him to stop.

He wanted to forget about the pain for a moment. She needs something to lean on and cry on. But all he got was a bar table, so he was crying all over there.

Melly who had not been too affected by alcohol, only looked at it with pity. “Gem. Udah.. There I am here..”.

Gemma did not answer, the longer her cries sounded more bitter and painful.

“Gue told me not to drink too much!”

Melly rushes to call someone, but before the phone reaches her ear, Gemma holds her back. “Don't call anyone! I stop drinking now.”

His friend noticed Gemma with a frown, intending to order an online taxi for him. But not so when he saw the woman was able to stand normally without feeling anything. “Lo sober nih?”

“Sober. I'll be back home, at most.”

Melly shook her head and stayed focused on her phone. Gemma then stopped drinking and looked at the soju bottle expressionlessly.

He sat there looking at the bottle, not moving at all. Various thoughts came to his head like a memory colliding. Sad, happy, disappointed, angry, merged into one and damaged his soul.

His heartbeat quickened, chasing his breath with a hunt. He almost took the soju bottle to drink straight from there. But before his mouth could sip the alcohol a little, someone blocked his hand.

“Gem? Why are you here?"

“Mas?!” Gemma looked at him in surprise. “Mas what is here?! Didn't you leave again?! A week, Mom!"

"How dare Mas appear before me after all that, you son of a bitch! Cheater! Bastard!"

“Ka-you... Where are you from?” said the man quite surprised, so surprised he stuttered.

“Oh yes... You don't know yet if I already know everything? Huh huh? The way you cheated behind my back was not at all difficult to dismantle! You cuckoo! Be fat! Amateurs!"

The woman came forward, about to slap, but the man held her down before the palm floated up to her face. “Gem. You're drunk!”

“Where's the dust from, he? Cheating man, venereal criminal! Don't you think I don't know your dirty deeds! You think I'm stupid? I sacrificed everything for you, and this is your reply? Goddamn bum! Goddamn bum! Goddamn it!!”

“Gemma!” the man's hand was stretched out to hold Gemma's body which was about to continue hitting her. “Come home. We're going home, now! You are drunk!"

With all his might, the man dragged Gemma out of the club, into his car to get home. Along the way, Gemma screamed indistinctly, pounding the man's arm with tears, like a child whining for a toy.

Grimacing withstanding the pain, the man still tried to calm down and concentrate on driving.

They arrived at the apartment lobby. But what Gemma saw, even the incredible sight was sickening.

The woman he knew was standing by the receptionist and greeting the man beside him like nothing had happened and did not consider Gemma to exist.

“Honey, I was waiting for you earlier!” said the woman.

Gemma screeched and snorted violently. “You! A whore is not ashamed! Still got the guts to show up in front of me, yeah!"

“Eh? What the fuck?!"

"Don't be innocent! A bitch is a whore! Have you slept with any man before my husband? Huh uh?"

"What did you say? You whores don't know shame! I'm asking you to know the taste!"

Gemma was already preparing to attack the woman with less material clothes, but her body was restrained by a much greater force than her. "Deliver, Mas!!"

“Go from here. I'll call,” said the man pleaded. “I promise I'll call you.”

“Ck!” The woman stomped her one leg in annoyance.

“GO!” drive the man to his bedmate, before the man drags Gemma into the elevator.
