Chapter 45 Proposal

Rena entered one of the light green painted rooms in the school building. As usual, the office always looked quiet. There was no teacher other than Rena in the office.

Rena then sat in one of the chairs in the room. After putting his bag down, he chose to correct the tasks of the children who were now piled on his desk.

"Assalamualaikum" said two male teachers who had just entered the room.

"Waalaikumsalam warahmatullaah," replied Rena without glancing to the origin of the sound.

Rena is still busy correcting children's duties.

"Eh, Miss Rena, it's in. I heard that last Saturday my mother was graduated. Congratulations." said Mr. Asep.

"Yes, sir, thank you" replied Rena.

"Sir Rayhan, this is Ms. Rena, the new teacher I told you about yesterday. Still single, our Junior High, pretty, right?" mr. Asep said to Rayhan.

Rayhan did not answer Mr. Asep's words, he still continued to look at Rena. While Rena who felt uncomfortable being stared at like that could only lower her head.

"Assalamualaikum, Miss Rena." (unknown number)

"I'm Rayhan, Miss Rena." (unknown number)

"Mom, will you marry me?" (Rayhan)

The last message Rena read from Rayhan really surprised her.

What crazy person is this? Just a week ago I met already ngajak marriage.(na Rena mummies)

I can't stop thinking about the message he just read.

"Mom, how did Mom answer my call?" (Rayhan)

"Sir, please don't joke like this, I don't like it." (Bene)

"I'm really serious, Mom. No kidding, I seriously like Mom and want to get Mom married." (Rayhan)

"O, yes, then please come to my house and meet my parents." (Bene)

"We see if he's brave" Rena murmured.

"Well, tonight I'm going to mom's house. So, please send me your home address." (Rayhan)

"What ? This guy's really gone crazy huh? I'll give you, okay, the address?" rena's mumbling is getting confused

"Well, here's my home address," (Rena while sending her house location plan)

Well, Rena, why did you send your home address. What if he actually came and proposed to you to both of your parents. Oh, my gosh, I'm dead (think Renata).

Along the way Rena kept thinking about the message Rayhan sent earlier. He hopes Rayhan doesn't actually come to his house to propose to him.

The day started towards night made Renata more agitated. He was still thinking about the message he received last afternoon.

“Aduh, Mr Rayhan it really came to the house did not ya....? Is it true what he said? Ah, where is it possible. Looks like he took the wrong medicine,” muttered Rena.

Rena continues to hold her phone to make sure there are or are no messages or incoming calls from Rayhan. Then, he came out of his room, glancing out through the window in front of his house.

“Rena, you look so nervous, what's outside?” asked Mama Rena who had noticed Rena who looked different that day.

That night Rena looked more presentable than usual. He was wearing a pink shirt with a subordinate black skirt and a volume of the same color. That is, it is not unusual to do because usually Rena only wears t-shirts or pajamas and rarely for her to use a hijab if she is in the house.

“Maybe he's waiting for someone, Mah,” said Rena's father who happens to be in the same room with Rena and her mother. He seemed to be busy enjoying a glass of warm sweet tea that had just been served by his wife along with a fried banana snack that looked so delicious.

“Iya, Mah, a friend of Rena said, tonight he wants to play here,” replied Rena.

“Oh yes, male or female Rena?” ask Mama Renata.

“Mmm...male, Mah,” replied Rena.

Rena's answer made Mama widen her smile. He seemed so happy when he found out that the friend Rena was waiting for was a man. This was the first time Rena had invited her male friend to play at home.

“What is rich man Rena? Is he the Lord you tell me so much about?” ask Mama Renata.

Mama Rena guessed Rena's upcoming friend was a God not without cause. It was because Rena had told her mother that in the school teachers and students often match her with God.

“Not Mah, this is Mr. Rayhan, the new teacher,” replied Rena who made Mama Rena shocked.

“Ganteng?” ask Mama.

“Mama will be worth it alone, but that's also if he comes,” replied Rena.

Just now Rena was saying that, suddenly Rayhan, the person they were talking about called her.

“Mah, for a minute, Rena pick up the phone first,” said Rena while walking a bit away from her Mom and picking up the incoming phone from Rayhan.

“Halo, Rena, Assalamualaikum,” greet Rayhan gently.

“A-what?” sahut Rena was a bit surprised because Rayhan only called Rena with his nickname alone.

“Halo, Rena, Assalamualaikum,” greet Rayhan back.

“Oh, Waalaikumsalam warahmatullah,” replied Rena after she confirmed that what she heard just now was not wrong.

“I have now arrived in front of your house,” said Rayhan.

“A-apa?! Sampai di mana?” tanya Renata kaget.

“Aku sekarang sudah sampai di halaman depan rumahmu. Rumahmu yang catnya warna hijau kan?” tanya Rayhan membuat Rena semakin terkejut.

Not waiting for long, Rena immediately peeked at Rayhan's whereabouts from behind the front window of her house.

“Gosh, he really came here?” rena muttered as soon as he saw Rayhan was in front of his house.

“What's Rena?” asked Mama Renata who had noticed her daughter's attitude earlier.

“Emm, friend Rena is already in front, Ma,” said Rena.

“Oh, good then. Get him in!” mama Renata Sahut.

“Iya, Mah, Rena pick him up first yes,” said Rena passed away leaving the Mama.

Rena walked forward, approaching Rayhan who was still sitting on his motorbike.

“Pak Rayhan, not unexpectedly you have come,” said Rena when she was close to Rayhan.

“Rena, please, if you're here don't call me Mr. Rayhan. Call Rayhan only,” sahut Rayhan when moving from his motorbike.

“Alright, Rayhan, let's go,” invite Rena.

However, Renata's steps came to a halt as Rayhan suddenly held onto his right hand.

“Rena, you are so beautiful tonight,” praise Rayhan with his warm gaze, making Rena blush in shame because of it.

“Ih, you are dreadful yes,” said Renata while pulling his hand from Rayhan's handle.

"I'm not flirting. You're really pretty tonight" Rayhan said.

Rena simply smiled in response to the praise from Rayhan as she continued walking towards her house.
