The sun began to slide into the sky, a tinge of orange color also stretched the clear sky that afternoon. A bespectacled man in a full suit walked into the house, accompanied by the personal assistant who had just picked him up at the airport a few minutes ago.
After getting a call from the mother when in the city of A, Nizam immediately finished his business and rushed back to the city of B by air. After an hour and a half drive, the man finally arrived at the house that witnessed his growth since childhood.
"Assalamu 'alaikum, Mother. How's the Moon doing?" said Nizam when he met the mother in the living room and then kissed the back of his hand.
"He's in the room with Nizwa. Oh yes, sit down, you want to talk" Khaira said as she patted the empty sofa beside her.
Nizam immediately sat down obediently. "Where's Dad, Mommy?"
"Your father is completing his studies at the pesantren, at best after the new Islamic prayer returned," replied Khaira. "Oh yes, Mother wants to talk important with you," he continued.
"What's up, Mommy?"
"It's about the Moon." Nizam paused for a moment to look at the mother's face. "Please be honest with Mother, who is the Moon really? Is she your wife?" continue the woman.
Nizam's eyeball immediately widened at the point of a very unexpected question. "Not Mommy" Nizam replied, shaking his head.
"You sure? Mother is suspicious, loh! Lest you secretly get married," Khaira probed with squinting eyes.
"Astaghfirullah, not Mother. Nizam assures me, your son is a bachelor aka high-ting virgin," explained Nizam straightened out the misunderstanding of the mother.
"You're not lying, are you? Mother is just suspicious because all this time you never want to bring another woman to this house other than Aura."
"Nizam brought it in because of an emergency, Mother."
"Then, honestly with Mother, who is the Moon?"
Nizam was silent for a moment while looking down, his eyebrows furrowed, he bit his lips covering the worry that was enveloping his heart. Not wanting to lie, but being afraid to be honest, that's how the guy feels.
"Nizam."
The man raised his face back to look at his mother and began to speak even though he was a little hesitant. He began to tell how his first meeting with the Moon was in City A, then his next meeting was at Incheon Airport, Korea, then a restaurant, and finally on the forest road in City A without anything being covered.
"Wait a minute, means after Korea, you and Nizwa to town A first?" Nizam nodded slowly still in a lowered position. "Why?" the woman continued asking.
"I'm sorry, Mother for being dishonest all this time. Actually, Nizam and Nizwa in Korea only a few hours, after that we immediately returned to Indonesia precisely in City A because Diki called Nizam if the perpetrator who caused Aura accident has been successfully arrested."
Khaira's mouth opened with a look of disbelief towards the son. In the next second he pinched the base of his nose which felt pulsating. "Mother thinks the case has been closed because of a pure accident, Zam," he continued in a soft voice.
"No, Mommy. They lie. The accident was deliberately planned, and the main perpetrator is still free to roam. That's why Nizam wants to find out that the culprit has the right punishment."
"Nizam, don't neglect that! Let the police take care of it!"
"Sorry, Mother. Nizam wouldn't have intervened if the police had taken care of him. Unfortunately, they are determined to close the case even though Nizam has shown evidence of irregularities from the Aura accident.
"But, Son ...." Khaira's words were interrupted as Nizam immediately sat on his knees before the woman while kissing her hand.
Khaira fell silent in her mind. For a long time he weighed the decision of the eldest son, until he finally spoke again, "Alright but you have to promise, do not let you get hurt in the least."
Nizam nodded confidently with a smile, then hugged the mother. "Please keep all this from my father, please Nizam," the man was still in his arms.
"Mother can't promise that because you can't lie to your father, son. So don't ever make your dad suspicious so he doesn't ask you anything."
Nizam nodded back and then took off his embrace. "Thank you, Mother."
Khaira nodded slowly. "Oh yes, about the Moon. He's improved, you can take him out of this house. It's not that Mommy doesn't want to help, but she can't stay in this house any longer. After all, his presence in this house could be a slander for you."
"Yes, Mother. Nizam will find him somewhere else safe. Nizam wants to see it first." The man then went to the guest room where Moon and Nizwa were.
Not forgetting he knocked on the door first until Nizwa opened it. It is now clear how the Moon is doing at this time. The woman seemed to smile when she found Nizam at the door, although not in line with the radiance from the look in her eyes.
"Thank you very much, Mas Nizam and Nizwa. I don't know if it turns out you're brothers" said the Moon so kindly, as if she was doing really well with no problems at all.
Nizam codes Nizwa to give him time to talk to the Moon for a moment. The understanding Nizwa finally came out to meet the mother, while Nizam still chose to stand in the doorway to talk to the Moon who was still sitting leaning on the bed.
"Are you feeling better?"
"Yes, thank God, Mommy."
"What did they do this to you? Those who chased you in the hospital" asked Nizam.
The moon bowed while nodding slowly. "They knew you were lying then, Mom."
"Ck, they're really outrageous" decak Nizam was upset. "Now you're in town B. Do you still have business in town A? I'll take you there, you can also report to the police about their crimes" he continued.
The moon shook quickly. "I beg you, let me stay in this city, I'm too afraid to go back there. Reporting to the police is also free, they even cooperate with the police there."
"What do you mean?" asked Nizam with almost cluttered eyebrows.
"How many times have I reported to the police, but instead of being arrested, I was said to be insane and after that I was again tortured by them for being caught reporting."
Nizam frowned. "Actually who are they until they have a connection at the police station?"
The moon was bowed by the hand squeezing the blanket she was using. "They're bad guys, Mas. Don't involve yourself with them."
Just as Nizam was about to ask again, his phone suddenly rang and made Nizam forced to stay away.
"Hello, Revan. What's up?"
"Corn, where are you? The boss is looking for you, it looks like he wants you to help me find his wife" Revan said across the phone.
