"Sorry, they still want to close the case."
Nizam bowed lethargic hearing Diki's words over the phone. He was so disappointed by the police's attitude at the headquarters that they didn't want to know the truth.
"But since you're my friend, I'll help you investigate, even if this is out of my duty," Diki half-whispered so that no one would hear her across the street. "But it will probably take a long time because I still have to put my duties first here" he continued.
"really? Thank you very much, Sister. I will wait patiently, may Allah make all your affairs easy."
Nizam ended his call with Diki that night. He was forced to cancel his plans to Diki's place due to an unexpected incident a few minutes ago. The man also could not explain what was happening to his friend at this time before he knew clearly what was happening to the woman he had just taken to the hospital.
"I'm sorry, was that the guardian of the patient?" ask a female doctor who just came out of the IGD room.
"I am not the guardian, I did not accidentally hit him" replied Nizam, though he was not sure he had hit him, but the woman's unconscious state in front of her car led the man to make his own conclusions.
"Oh, do you have an ID or a cell phone that you can use to contact your family? The patient's condition is very concerning."
Nizam frowned. "Nothing, Doc. As I recall, from the beginning he did not bring anything, even he did not wear footwear at all" explained Nizam. "If you may know, what happened to that woman?" asked Nizam continued.
"He was traumatized by physical violence. So many wounds on his body and neck. Currently he will still continue the follow-up examination process to find out if he also experienced s*sexual violence."
"Innalillah, have pity on him" murmured Nizam sympathized. "Do I need to report it to the police?"
"Wait for the patient to wake up, sir. Let's just let us know what's going on." The doctor then left in front of Nizam.
As the night wore on, Nizam decided to wait until the woman regained consciousness outside her ward. The man let the female nurse take care of him, he did not dare to even enter the room considering that at this time the woman was probably not wearing a veil, he wanted to keep boundaries so as not to make the woman uncomfortable.
The sound of the morning prayer made Nizam blink his eyes. He stood up while stretching his muscles that felt a little pain due to sleeping in a sitting position overnight.
Simultaneously, a female nurse came out from the female ward that until now she did not know her identity.
"Sir, Nizam. The patient is conscious and he wants to talk to you."
"I?" Nizam who just woke up was pointing himself to make sure if he did not catch it wrong.
"Yes, sir."
Nizam fixed his glasses and walked up to the door of the room, but his hands hesitated to open the door.
"Just calm down, sir. The patient has returned to wearing his veil" said the nurse as if to understand what Nizam was worried about.
"Suster came in, didn't he?"
"Yes, Sir. Sure oes. Let's Mr." The nurse walks first and enters the room, followed by Nizam in the back.
"Miss, it's Mr. Nizam who brought Miss here."
The moon who was lying down is now trying to sit with the help of nurses.
"Sorry, it's been a hassle, sir. Thank you for helping me that night. I don't know what would happen to me if ...." The woman's voice was choked. Her tears rolled back over her cheeks, but she quickly wiped them with her veil.
"Sorry, Sir. I became a baper" said the woman laughing softly, covering the inner wound that was trying to be covered.
Nizam just silently stared at the woman for a moment. It felt so familiar to see the woman's eyes, it seemed like she had seen a woman with puffy eyes and eyes full of the same sadness, but she forgot when and where.
"Yes, no problem" Nizam replied briefly.
"Regarding the maintenance fee, please leave the account number, sir. God willing I will replace it soon" said the woman in a slightly hoarse voice.
"No need, I sincerely help," refused Nizam again with a short language.
"Alright, then I'll excuse the dawn prayer first. Nizam was about to turn around to get out of the room.
"Wait, Sir. Can I have a favor?"
Nizam stopped his steps, then turned back towards the woman. "Solicit what please?"
"My name is Moon, I ...." The woman named Moon seemed a little hesitant to continue her words. He took a deep breath before starting to open his voice, "If you are not married, may I ask you to please marry me?"
Nizam was very surprised to hear the request of the Moon. "What do you mean?"
"It's only temporary, sir. I need that status now in order to ...."
"You think marriage is a joke that can be done temporarily?" Nizam cut the word Moon quickly. The gaze of the man who had been filled with sympathy instantly turned cold. "I'm sorry, I can't. Excuse me first."
Nizam resigned without regard to the look of disappointment on the woman's face. To be sure, he was still heartbroken for failing to marry and now he meets a foreign woman who suddenly asked to be married. Really, he did not think with the mindset of the woman named the Moon.
Not wanting to get dizzy, Nizam immediately came out and immediately walked quickly to the mosque which is located not far from the hospital.
☘☘☘
The sun had appeared in the skyline when Nizam came out of the mosque. The man walked back to the hospital to leave immediately. The plan is this morning, he will return to town B until Diki completes his investigation.
The man's footsteps stopped right in front of the hospital gate when from afar he saw the Moon lying weakly on the bed was now running back while holding his blood-splitting hand. He could confirm if the woman had just forcibly released her infusion.
But why did the woman run?
Nizam continued to look at the woman and her surroundings, until the reason for the Moon to run was answered. Two large men were chasing him from behind.
I don't know what the problem is, but Nizam can't bear to see the woman running in a weak state and pale face. He kept silent when he saw the woman in the hospital yard and ran towards him.
Nizam plans to prevent the two men from pursuing the Moon. However, he was quite surprised when the woman actually immediately hid in the back while holding the shirt he used.
"Help me, sir," said the Moon in a stout voice and an irregular breath, and even the hand holding his shirt felt trembling with a weak grip.
"What's wrong? Who're they?" nizam asked, but got no answer because the two men of great stature had arrived before him.
"Hey, hand over the woman?" One of the men walked towards Nizam with a gaze that pointed towards the Moon that was behind him.
Nizam stretched his arms against the man, realizing that the Moon was in danger, remembering the doctor's words about the wound on the woman's body. "No! Tell me who you are!"
The man of great stature was now staring intently at Nizam and walking towards him. "You don't interfere if you want your life to be saved. He belongs to our boss, our boss has bought him from his uncle."
Nizam's eyes were round hearing the big man's words. "Our Boss?" reset Nizam.
"She bought me just to satisfy her naps without getting married, please save me," said the woman from behind in a soft voice so that only Nizam could hear her.
"Yes, he belongs to our boss."
Nizam was silent, for a moment he was confused what to say in order to save this woman behind him. Fighting against two people that of course he can do, but not necessarily the problem will be solved, the problem will be even greater if he does that especially when he is in the hospital.
"You're wrong. She's mine. I'm her husband, so I'm the one who deserves it" Nizam really doesn't believe what she just said right now.
"Don't lie to you. His uncle said he wasn't married."
"This ring is proof." Nizam raised his right hand where a silver-colored ring coiled there.
