"It's your fault, Erasmus!" I snapped.
The sentence just came out when I saw a lot of fallen trees and a collection of bodies falling on the ground moistened by blood. The fishy smell and smoke fused into an odor that pierced my nose.
The first sight I saw was a dead body. I just got out of the palace through that rope. Ignoring my hands that were hot because of the friction of the mine, but my eyes enlarged when I saw many bodies falling like dry leaves falling in the autumn. Their blood splattered on the ground. The green grass coated in a visible reddish color started to clump up. Many lives are lost today.
"Come, we're going!" Eric tried to shift my conversation.
"Erasmus, you don't deserve to be King! Look at all this!" I'm really mad.
If Wiender didn't have a cowardly king like him, I'm sure this wouldn't have happened. No one will die. There will be no burning plants. There will be no animals hiding. Blood will not wet the grass.
"You're blaming me?" He is a cowardly man. He doesn't want to be blamed.
"Isn't this fact clear as proof of your answer." Ketus.
"They broke Wiender for looking for you!" He began to look at me with both enlarged eyes. He stepped closer to me. Did he blame me?
"It wouldn't have happened if you hadn't forced me into this place, Erasmus." I beat him to defend myself.
"Enough!" Eric kept me away from Erasmus.
"This is not our goal. We're all wrong. Erasmus is too cowardly, you can't bring your magic back and I didn't realize they were coming. We're all too slow to attack that evil witch, we're all wrong." Eric.
"Not arguing we should do. This time believe me, we have to save Wiender and the human place." Eric continued his boring speech.
I regret. I am sorry to have been with Eric.
This is the first time I want to go back to Mrs Renata's house. I choose to be tormented rather than witness the madness that ensues. I hate both men who are selfish enough to carry out their mission. I hate this magical world. Can't I live comfortably?
It feels like I'm really in a fairyland. Living in the story, I became the main character in my story and it was possible that I would be sacrificed by those two men who were smeared with ambition. Right now I can't tell the difference between reality or fantasy.
"Come, we gotta get to Dark Point!" Bring Erasmus.
Really? He asked me to follow him? He was still able to give orders after all the bad things happened to me and Wiender. I really don't believe it.
"I'm not coming. I want to go home and get out of this place." My words stopped the footsteps of the two men.
"Why?" Eric frowned.
"I'm sorry I came to this place." My speech.
"Then? Please don't be selfish!" Erasmus started to get angry back at me.
"Are you not selfish to let them die?" I asked while smiling annoyed at him.
"I did it all for the good of my home and where you live." Answer Erasmus. Cowardly.
"For good? That's why you let them die and in the end they don't have a home. Right now you're sacrificing a lot of Garde, how can I believe you didn't sacrifice my life?" My reply was no longer able to hold back my emotions.
"I'll protect you." Eric answered my question.
"I promise." Eric continued with a look as if begging me.
"I'll sacrifice my life. I'll protect your life. However, I beg of you to protect this earth." Eric spoke, while the green-eyed man was silent like a rock.
It feels really crazy. My heart began to be full of anxiety. I hate Erasmus and his world.
"All right." My answer is still full of doubt.
I know I'll regret this choice. Stupid, huh?
...
I can't believe I was in the middle of the woods at midnight. Erasmus was looking for firewood and Eric was busy to keep the bonfire big. I just kept quiet and stared at the bonfire.
Erasmus and I haven't talked to each other. I really didn't want to look him in the face, nor did he want to rebuke me. If not for being forced, I would also be too lazy to adventure with him.
"Don't hate him too much!" Eric's voice made me look. It seemed to know my mind.
I took a deep breath when I heard Eric's advice. It's natural that I hate him. He's a man who's very hard on all creatures.
"He was a fool, but it was for Wiender's good. He knew if the witch and Garde were at war then there would be a high chance that Wiender would be destroyed, Garde would die and your world would be destroyed." Eric continues.
"If he doesn't force me to come to this place, Wiender won't be destroyed. They're looking for me and know where I am." My reply.
"He brought you in just to prepare. If war does occur, the possibility of victory is in your hands. If she doesn't bring you here, I'm sure you'll be just as bad a woman as a witch queen." I hate Eric this time.
Is he starting to insult me?
I lay my body on hard ground. The pebbles I was sleeping on made me uncomfortable, but what could I do. No tents, no mattresses and no pillows. My eyes were just staring at a beautiful star as it was not yet sleepy.
"What are our plans tomorrow?" My toot.
"Watching the Garuda Bird." All right, again the thing that is difficult to accept my common sense appears. Some more!
"For what?" Ask again.
"The magician will return to being human if a Dark Point sacred object is destroyed. However, only the evil witch and-"
"Can't we just say his name? I'm so upset if he's always called that." I interrupted the conversation.
"His name is Queen Vei. The sacred objects in Dark Point are known only to Queen Vei and Garuda Bird. Garuda was the beloved pet of the first witch and her husband. We have to destroy that thing or kill the Vei queen to destroy the magic of the witches. I-"
"Destroy magic? How's yours?" I interrupted again.
"I'm ready to be human." The reply.
"Being human?" I'm getting clueless.
"A few tens of centuries ago, all humans were divided into humans who had power and humans who had no power. The man who has the power is called Garde. At that time Garde and humans always lived together. Garde also made a set, they became the protector of nature. However, not all humans like what Garde does. In reality, nature is always sacrificed for future life. Trees become objects in homes or offices, coal for electric power and other things. Eventually Garde was exiled to a mountain on the equator, now called Wiender." Eric told.
"Then?" I don't get it. What does this story have to do with witches.
"All the exiled Garde have power. However, some of Garde's descendants did not always have the strength. If Garde has no power, it feels like he is at his lowest level and only allowed to live in Wiender. Garde also considers them as humans who live in Wiender. They only farm in Wiender and are not allowed out of Wiender. That's very frustrating for them.-"
"Eric, get to the point!" I'm upset to hear his twisted story.
"One of the Wienders who had no power ventured into the library that only the king and queen of Wiender were allowed to enter. I don't know what he found there. Some people say that he learned magic from a Sanskrit book. The man managed to learn magic, then he escaped from Wiender with his magic. That person was called as the first witch, all of his descendants would become the strongest magicians. The magician's power is in his blood, so that only someone who is his descendant has all his magic"
"It's not alone either. He donated a drop of his blood to some humans, so that humans who have his blood will have magic even though it is not as strong as the first witch's descendants. All humans who have the blood of the first witch in his body can pass the magic down to his descendants, just like I am today. Both my parents are human descendants."
He explained the history of the witches and I don't care. Whoever the first witch or Garde is, I don't care. At least the story made me sleepy.
"What's that sacred thing for?" Ask again. I hope he will answer briefly.
"I don't know for sure, some witches think it's a magic powerhouse." The answer.
If Erasmus only wanted to save Wiender and Eric just wanted to exterminate Queen Vei's magic. So I wanted to save myself, get out of this place, and live quietly. I just need to give them a little help to leave. I don't want to sacrifice my life for all the foreign things that have just entered my life story.
"Don't expect too much from me." I started to close my eyes and try to sleep even though I wasn't sleepy.
"I knew. That's why I hate you enough." Answer without thinking long.
"Then, why are you nice to me?" Ask again.
I don't understand Eric. He was always kind to me and always helped me, but sometimes he was cold to me. I didn't know I had to label good people or bad people on him. It's very hard to guess.
"You'll know the answer." The answer. I hate mysterious pretenders.
Never mind, I don't care. I just need to give 'a little' help and get out of this place.
