RED EYES

RED EYES
My place and yours

"Hey, my name is Cassandra. The chief always calls me Cassie." Her speech.

"I know." My reply doesn't care. I know you even more than you know yourself.

"You're so pretty." He touched my cheek with his index finger.

I immediately removed his finger from my face. I'd be happier if Goldam was sent by the chieftain to come with us. I never thought if a graceful woman was accompanying us.

"You're so pretty, if I were like you." Say again. I'm sure if he says it because he's been living with the Kangel people for too long or he's insulting me.

"Aww!" Erasmus's cries stopped our steps.

I saw a lot of blood coming out of his palms. We immediately approached Erasmus. I don't understand, how could he be hurt like he was slashed by a sword?

"Can we stop?" Erasmus asked as he endured the pain.

"I'll find honey." Cassie's words reminded me of the time I visited Kangel.

"You want us to rest while drinking warm honey water?" I asked with ketus.

"I want to treat his wound. I also want to find a plant that can heal his wounds." Cassie answered gracefully, she was still able to smile at me.

"We can rest. I want to find water too."

Eric and Cassie left, and now it's just me and Erasmus. The atmosphere between us was very awkward. Ever since we left Wiender, I've been too lazy to talk to him. The hate that clumps is very difficult to remove.

"You still hate me?" Ask Erasmus. I'm silent.

"I'll keep my word, Claire." Say again. I'm silent.

"I'm a coward, aren't I? I've always been confident in my decisions because I believe it's for Wiender's good. However, my decision does not protect them." He said his heart was out. I was silent and didn't care.

"Can you trust me once and support me?" He asked and I kept quiet.

"Can you help me so I don't bleed out?"

I looked up, apparently trying to tie a cloth in his hand. What I can do, I have to help him so he doesn't die and keep his promise. I also helped him tie the cloth to his injured hand, of course by force.

"You really hate me." Her speech.

"You're right." I accidentally answered.

"Do you want to leave this place?" He asks.

"You're absolutely right." I answered it intentionally.

"I know if you want to hit me."

"You're right."

The mood was silent again. I stared at the trees before me, Erasmus was busy staring at the cloth covering his wound. I really hope that Eric and Cassie will be here soon.

"Your father is the strongest and very good Garde. The whole Garde loves him. He always took time for you and your mother. If you met your father, you would be proud. King Loi loved his two daughters very much." He's narrating.

Honestly, I like the story he just told me. Erasmus was the one who had seen and lived with my father. I want to know more about my family.

"Your face and Hera are very similar to your father's. Your face is also very similar to Hera's. The difference between you and Hera is just the color of your eyeballs and you're very rude." Erasmus continued.

"What about my mom?" My toot.

"She is the most beautiful woman in Wiender. He is as brave and persistent as you. However, he had died because of the witches."

"You just said that?" My toot. My annoyance reappeared.

"That's a royal secret I shouldn't have said. Eric's a witch and he's always with us, how do I tell him that?" The reason I can forgive.

I can't stop thinking if my suffering started with that witch. It felt like crying, but the enveloping anger covered it up. I started to hate the witch and wanted to kill her.

"I hope Eric and Cassie come back soon." My speech.

"You're mad at me again?" Erasmus asked.

"I want to destroy the jewel." Answer me firmly.

...

"Do you still want to go back?" Erasmus asked from the front of the bonfire.

"Would very much. I miss my place so much." I answered in a voice loud enough for him to hear my answer.

I heard a huge laugh too. Eric was laughing while looking at me. He was on the left side of Erasmus, seven steps from the tree I was leaning against.

"Your place is beautiful because of nature. But my place is beautiful." I'm bragging about where I came from to Eric.

He laughed and looked at me with raised eyebrows. He seemed to underestimate me. His expression right now was the same as mine every time I heard the story Erasmus told me.

"At night, it's not just the moon and the stars that give light. There are so many lights from skyscrapers, street lights and vehicle lights also make beauty in the middle of the night." I explained.

"Light at night? Isn't it like the beauty given by fireflies? Wiender also always holds a lantern party every two years." This time Cassie challenged me with her question. I hate her face as if it were a plain woman.

Erasmus and Eric laughed in front of the campfire. I also approached the three of them. I looked at them with a very sharp gaze and hoped that they would stop insulting my place of origin. Free, they still laughed even though I was standing next to them.

"I'm sure you'll be blown away when you see it." Reply with a little arrogance.

"They're using electricity, Claire. Electricity is created and nature sacrifices, are you still fascinated?" Reply Eric.

I threw a pebble at Eric. He managed to repel the pebble with his magic. Shit, I wish the pebble hit his lips.

"You'll be fascinated when you see the beach." I still boast of my place.

"Sure, but I'm always disappointed when I see a river that smells and is filled with garbage." Erasmus Reply.

I admit that some humans are ruining nature. Destroying and destroying its beauty. Fired trees, dirty rivers and seas, and rare animals that have died are indeed evil to the earth. However, we also have many humans who love and take care of nature. Not everyone in a society is a noble hearted person.

"We have vehicles, we have millions of technologies, there's amusement parks, there's food, there's a lot of cinemas and a lot of singers with amazing performances." I'm defending my place.

"I can-"

"Enough, Eric. I don't forbid you to boast of Dark Point, I don't forbid Erasmus from praising the beauty of Wiender and I don't forbid Cassie from continuing to be a pretentious lady. Can you not forbid me to boast of my place of residence?"

I hate them. Their place is their place, not mine. I know that nature in my place is much worse, but I still love my place. Is it wrong to love something different?

"Here you go, in three days we'll get to Dark Point. I hope there's no hate here." Erasmus tried to warm the atmosphere.

I don't give a shit.

I also left them.
