RED EYES

RED EYES
Likes and Grief

"You're hurt!" Eric was shocked when he saw the wound on my leg.

I just found out that my leg was hurting and it was bleeding quite a lot when Eric noticed it. The pain in the wound came when I found out. When I don't know if my leg is hurt, there's no pain.

"I'll take water and herbs to clean your wounds." Eric.

Eric immediately ran towards the river that happened to be in front of us. He took water with the folded leaves. Cassie was washing her arms full of blood. Erasmus simply remained silent as he stared at the clean river with his blank gaze.

I immediately took Erasmus' sword. When Erasmus threw out his sword, I pin took his sword. I had also washed the sword secretly when we had just reached the river.

I also approached Erasmus. I stepped with my painful feet to get close to him, I also carried his sword. He didn't realize that if I approached him, he seemed to be drifting in his mind.

"Erasmus, you left him." I put the sword in front of him. He looked at me for a moment.

It drifted back into his mind and I sat down and thought about what I should say. It feels strange when you see a man who often asks becomes silent.

"Thank you." My speech. That's the only word I thought.

"For what?" He asks.

"Thank you for helping us." My reply.

"You mean to be a killer?" The reply. I don't understand what he's saying.

I was silent and didn't want to talk anymore. I was afraid that my words would be a mistake. I'm sure that Eric and Cassie are very grateful to him.

"I killed the witches. That's the thing that shouldn't be done." Her speech.

"Then you want to let us die?" My toot.

"I'm sure it was an order. Not his desire to kill us. In my life, last night was the second time I killed someone. I unleashed my power that would eventually kill that tree and that witch."

It looks like mourning. Now I know a little bit why he avoided the war so much and didn't want to attack. Erasmus did not want any blood to spill just because of the greed of one man. He is not wrong, even if he is not right.

"Why did you bring a sword?" My toot. If he didn't want to kill, he should have had enough of a shield.

"It belongs to my father. The prince always bequeathed the king's weapons of war when the king entrusted Wiender to the prince. If I don't bring this, the people of Wiender will think that the king doesn't trust me as his successor." He explains.

We're silent. Now I just hear the river. Erasmus did not speak anymore. His empty look came back.

"If you don't kill them, then you'll regret watching us die. Nevermind!" My speech. He remained silent.

I saw a considerable sense of guilt from him. I don't know if it's possible that her past is getting heavier in her emotions right now. I also don't want to ask about someone's past.

....

"Should we play a game?" I asked them all. Only Erasmus looked at me.

I hate this situation so much. They all stared blankly at the campfire. Not speaking or saying anything else. I'm sure Erasmus is still thinking about the evil witches he stabbed with his sword. Cassie was busy enduring the pain of being attacked by dozens of arrows, I knew she was moaning even though she had no voice. Eric's? I'm guessing that he's regretting his decision to go with Erasmus, like me.

"Let's play a game!" Invite me enthusiastically or I will die from being silent for too long.

"I don't have a small, multifunctional object that picks up satellite signals or a network called pie." Cassie replied, again she had a very innocent expression.

"What you're talking about is a cell phone, Cassie. Not pies, but wifi!" Answer me with annoyance.

I didn't think I'd be living with a living creature that didn't know how great the technology was made by the great scientists. Do they know the internet? Do they know the cinema? Do they know television and computers? Of course, no.

"What game?" Ask Eric.

"I call it truth or dare. Starting with turning a bottle, if the mouth of the bottle is directed at someone then he must answer the question honestly or lie. If you choose to lie, then you are willing to be punished. Since there's no bottle, we'll just do it in turn." I'm explaining.

They're silent, I'll assume if they understand. I don't want to explain anymore, especially answering questions from Cassie.

"Is there no other choice? Those two answers make me lie." Answer with a clear face. Eric laughed softly as he let out that pitiful face.

I gestured to Eric, I turned my eyes to Cassie. Eric nodded. Eric started touching Cassie's head. I hope Eric makes Cassie feel the same pain she did to me. However, a few seconds Eric touched Cassie's head, Cassie just laughed amusedly. Eric gave Cassie no pain, he gave a tingle. Sucks.

"Eric, why do you want to help Erasmus? Nothing is free in this world." I asked Eric.

"I want to help him for my parents." He might answer honestly.

"Erasmus"

"Is it someone you like?" Ask Cassie. He cut my conversation. Is he really stupid? What kind of boodoh person confesses his feelings?

"Sure, Hera." Answer Eric.

"I like Claire." He lies. I know it.

I gestured back to Eric. However, Eric shook his head quickly. I just remembered that Garde wouldn't be able to get hit by magic. Instead, I gave her a kick. The kick was very slow for me, but it managed to change its position.

"Will anyone ask me? Don't ask me about math!"

"Claire, is there anyone you like?" Ask Eric.

"Erasmus." Answer lies.

My eyes looked into Eric's eyes. I signaled if I had lied. He just kept quiet, he returned my gaze. No other response, what's wrong with him? I gave another gesture, a nod, but he began to shift his gaze. Bizarrely. Does he feel like I'm answering the question honestly?

All right, this game's getting boring.

"Eric, are all witches capable of doing the things you do?"

I asked Eric because I really wanted to know that answer. The question is not part of the game. Erasmus and Cassie also turned to Eric, and they knew the answer. All eyes were on Eric as if he was waiting for an answer.

"No." Answer's short.

"Then how did you do that?" Erasmus asked quickly after he heard Eric's reply.

"Witches can do it if they know how. I only control the brain. Each part of the brain has its own function. There are parts to store long-term or short-term memory, there are parts that control vision, there are parts that regulate skin sensations, there are parts that control emotions, there are parts that control emotions, there are parts that control the way you talk and more. I just regulate a substance in the body to control which part of the brain I'm going to activate. Simple." He explains.

Is he explaining biology or medical science?

"How do you know those parts of the brain? How do you know how the brain works." Cassie asked, the question already represents my question.

"I learned it myself." The answer.

Eric told me about witches. Witches are not like Garde, very different. Garde has power and it has been determined what power he has. Witches do have the potential to have power, but they must seek that power. Eric knows about the human brain, it is magic and knowledge that creates its power. Just like me, I don't know what knowledge I have and I don't know how to cast that magic.

"If we manage to exterminate the magic, what will you do?" Eric asked us, maybe he asked himself. It was visible from his eyes.

"I will be king, build Wiender and start a new life." Answer Erasmus.

"I want to have a good meal first, then I want to go home to see my father. The chief said I'd go home with Claire." Answer Cassie.

"Sure, start a new life." I answered.

They're looking at me. A look full of pity attacked my face. I hate that look. How could he have pityed me? Am I pathetic? I regret giving my answer.

"Don't pity me!" I snapped at them. They immediately turned their eyes.
