16. Daddy Approach

Silka felt her heart being sliced at Jena's reply. She feels humiliated and hurt by Max's cynical gaze which makes her feel like she's falling back down. Tears could no longer be held back and continued to flow profusely from his eyes.

"Your Daddy's alive, Jena. And Daddy's here" Max said softly. He saw how devastated Silka was and wanted to correct her mistake.

Jena and Juno looked at each other with confusion plastered on their faces. They don't know what's really going on. They are too small when treated by problems that make adults more dizzy.

Silka tried to control her emotions and raised her face. He pulls his two children back to try to leave Max who continues to try to enter the mind of his daughter's son.

"Wait!" max tried to catch up.

However, Silka did not press and continued to go to her apartment. Jena and Juno half ran after the thousand steps their mother had taken.

"Silka, wait! They're my kids too! If you find much difficulty in caring for them, leave it to me! I'm not going to waste them again like I used to. I do hate you, but not for son—"

The apartment door was closed by Silka. There's no more Max chirping they can hear. Jena and Juno looked at her mother with confused faces.

Silka tried to calm herself down for a moment before looking at her two children affectionately. He felt a sense of confusion within himself, but did not want to ignore the feelings of his children.

"Yes, Jena. That master did say that he was your Daddy," Silka replied forced to tell the truth.

Jena and Juno looked at each other with increasing confusion. They try to digest the information they just received.

"Mommy, does that mean Daddy's alive?" june asked doubtfully.

Silka tried to overcome the confusion and turbulent emotions within her. He looked at Jena and Juno with mixed feelings.

"Yes, Jena, Juno, Mommy is also confused as to how to say it. However, he has already confessed that he is Jodi, the one who made you present in this world through Mommy's womb," Silka replied in a doubtful voice.

Jena looked at her mother with a mixed expression. "Mommy, can we go back with Daddy? Isn't that our Daddy?"

Silka felt a sense of confusion and doubt in herself. His heart still hurt the deception Max committed against him. However, he also realized that his children also needed the figure of their father.

"We should talk more about this, Jena, Juno. Mommy can't get close just handing you over to him. However, remember that your Daddy has made mistakes that you cannot forgive for a lifetime. We must be careful and think carefully before making a decision."

The next day, after Jena and Juno returned home from school, they were shocked to see the man who had chased them yesterday was waiting for them in front of the school gate. Their faces reflected a mixture of excitement and confusion.

Their heads started wildly looking for a single figure. "Where is mommy?" ask Jena. "Or, did Mommy ask Daddy to pick us up?" ask Jena back.

"Can't be. Mommy told you we'd be a little late, right?" juno reminded.

"Tu-Master?" Jena called out doubtfully.

Max smiled gently. "Hello, Jena, Juno. Can Daddy talk to you guys for a second?"

Jena and Juno looked at each other, figuring out what this meant. Finally, they nodded and approached Max carefully.

Max took a deep breath. "Daddy knows this is all very confusing for you. But, Daddy wanted to explain more about what had happened."

Jena looked at him expectantly. "Is that Master our Daddy?"

Max nodded. "Yes, I'm your Daddy. I'm sorry Daddy hasn't been with you all this time. But, Daddy just wants you to understand, that everything told by Mommy is not necessarily true. Daddy wants you to trust Daddy, too."

Juno still looks skeptical. "Mommy said Daddy hurt her. How do we know Daddy won't do it again?"
