27. Explanation

"However, don't be like this, Max. We are citizens of a country. It's not so easy to lose someone's life. What about your children's character?" silka murmured to her children's school. He did not buy kitchen materials as planned.

"But ever since we reunited and built this life together, I learned to forgive and forget your past. But, if you were really involved in Adel's death, I don't know if I could accept you with all the darkness of the world you're in" Silka said in a discordant voice.

Max tried to explain, "Silka, I promise you that I will give you a real explanation. I don't want to hide anything from you. We need to meet and talk about it in person. Let's talk about everything honestly."

Silka let out a long breath. He knew that he had to give Max a chance to explain his true circumstances. Although her heart was still filled with doubts, she loved Max and wanted to understand the whole story.

"Alright, Max. We'll talk about it later. But, I hope you have to remember that honesty and trust are very important to me" Silka said in a firm tone.

They agree to meet at their home after Silka picks up the twins from school. Although there were still many questions weighing on her mind, Silka decided to give Max a chance to explain everything.

When Silka arrived at school, she saw her children playing in the yard. They immediately ran up to their mother with a bright smile on their faces. Silka felt warm in her heart seeing the happiness of her children.

"What a roar, Mom! We learned about the animals in the zoo" Jena replied enthusiastically.

"Devil, the beast has gone so far. There should be a lesson in school to know the names of weapons, the names of tools of war, the types of weapons that exist in the world, not animals" said Juno sewot.

Silka could only smile at the different answers between her two children. "Juno, at school there's no such lesson. If you are weird, your teachers will ask you something no one else should know about us. Do you want to be expelled from this school?" threaten Silka's.

Juno rounded her eyes shut her mouth and shook her head quickly. "I want school. I want to be smart. I want to rule the world" Juno reasoned.

"If you still want to go to school, then you act like ordinary children. Just like you haven't met Daddy yet."

Juno and Jena nodded calmly. They bow their heads holding on to their mother's hands.

Upon reaching home, they sit together in the living room, waiting for Max to come home to discuss the matter that haunts his head.

Shortly after, Max arrives home. His face was tense, but it was clear that he wanted to give an explanation to Silka.

"Juno, Jena, you guys get into the room. Daddy and Mommy want to talk," Max asked.

"Why go to the room? Jena would like to hear Daddy talk too" Jena declined.

"Yes, we want to listen too" Juno agreed.

Silka doesn't talk much. He simply widened his eyes staring at the two boys in turn. So, the male and female twins were afraid and bowed their heads.

Juno pulled Jena's hand. "Come on, let's just go to sleep" he asked.

After making sure the twins were no longer on their side, Max finally grasped his wife's hand.

"Silka, I mean, honey, I know that my past is not easy for you to accept. It's just, I did it all for you. I don't want you to be hurt by them" Max said in a hoarse voice.

Silka looked at Max meaningfully. He wanted to hear an even deeper explanation, even though his heart was still filled with doubts.

"Darling, if that's why you hate me, then I can't say anymore" Max said. "If the love I have is always wrong in your eyes, I'll let you go again. Anyway, I won't be able to change it. I will still destroy anyone who hurts any part of my life, including you."
