Delia's Birthday Anniversary

“Happy birthday to you ... Happy birthday to you ... Happy birthday happy birthday happy birthday to you.” A 10cm diameter cake Jayadi brought into the room, where there was Delia who was forced to wake up from her deep sleep. How not soundly, after the last few days of sleep is not good because of the heat, tonight Delia is so comfortable under the range of AC that Jayadi bought yesterday.

“Jay ...” Delia's voice was so hoarse, typical of people waking up.

Jayadi sat on the bed next to Delia. He brought the cake closer to his wife. “Happy birthday dear,” he said.

Delia managed to collect lives. He realized that today was his birthday.

“Please,” said Delia while peeping Jayadi's cheek.

“Make a wish!” titah Jayadi's.

Delia closed her eyes for a moment. Do'a in his heart before blowing out the candle.

There was nothing special about Delia's birthday at the moment. No parties, no expensive gifts, and no ... His parents. Jayadi is his only family at the moment. And vice versa. For Jayadi, Delia is his only family at the moment. Life's purpose.

“Del?”

“Hemmm?”

“Later tonight we are dinner, how?”

Delia seemed to think for a moment before agreeing to Jayadi's invitation.

Today Jayadi left from morning. There was an Event Organizer who asked her to sing at a company event. They will open a new branch. The event itself was held in a five-star hotel ballroom in Jakarta.

“I can come?” delia asked as Jayadi was leaving.

“Sorry Del, but this is a private event. Only special invitations can be entered.”

Delia looked disappointed to hear Jayadi's reply.

Jayadi who saw disappointment in Delia's eyes immediately approached his wife. He cupped Delia's cheeks gently. “Del, I promise, one day, when I'm successful, I'll take you wherever I go. I'll make sure you're always by my side.”

Delia smiled hearing that. He is always optimistic that one day, Jayadi will achieve his goals, become a national and even international singer.

But one thing Jayadi did not realize, that the promise he made to Delia was not easy to carry it out.

Using a matic motorcycle he bought about five years ago, Jayadi immediately went to the event venue. The EO said the event would start at lunchtime. For that he left as early as possible to prepare there.

Arriving at the hotel, Jayadi immediately parked his vehicle. Not many motorcycles are parked there. Even if there are, high-CC motors that come there. Except for employee-only parking lots that may still have old motorcycles like his.

Jayadi walked into the show. He approached the EO to ask for a rehearsal before the event. However, the band that will accompany him later is not the band that usually accompanies him in the cafe. There has to be some adjustments.

The EO showed the stage where Jayadi will perform later. He was not the only singer invited. There were 2 female singers and 1 male singer on stage who were performing a rehearsal.

“Oh yes Jay, time to change the costume one hour before performing is ready well. You brought a costume, right?”

“Si Reti has told you right?”

Jayadi.

“Yes God, how can I forget something important like this. Okay, so gini Jay, because it's a corporate event, so we're wearing that office-style dresscode, suit and bow tie. Can ya?”

“Indeed his EO does not provide it?” ask Jayadi.

“No Jay, sorry.”

Jayadi breathed a rough sigh. Inevitably he had to look for the costume in question. He saw the clock on his wrist. It would still be enough if he left now. Finally he decided to buy what he needed.

Long stay in Jakarta, Jayadi quite know where to go. Not a famous boutique, only a clothing store that sells used clothes but branded. There, Jayadi can get good stuff at low prices. Most of these items are only worn once or twice by the previous owner.

“How much is the total mbak?” jayadi asked the waiter after choosing what items he would buy.

“Three hundred and fifty, Mas,” answers.

Jayadi gave the money away with love. The money was going to be used to buy gifts for Delia. Added money Jayadi will earn from singing today. A necklace with a goose bird that Delia had seen a few days ago when they were walking in a Mall. Jayadi knew, from the look in her eyes, Delia liked the necklace.

Jayadi immediately returned to the hotel after completing his purchase transaction.

10 Minutes into the event, Jayadi and the other three singers were ready on stage. The owner of the event, President Director of Wijaya Group, was present there. All eyes were on him. And Jayadi as well. His eyes were fixed on the sight of the person who was walking with dignity there. He's Arga Wijaya, Delia's real father.

Their eyes met accidentally. For a split second, they looked at each other, before Arga cut off the eye contact.

“That's Mr. Arga, owner of Wijaya Group. He said he had planned to open his new branch to coincide with his son's birthday. This new branch will be given to his son. But I don't know which one is his son. Hopefully aja handsome,” Speech of one of the singers who sat next to Jayadi.

So, this show is Delia's father's show. And the company that will open it for Delia? Inner Jayadi.

Jayadi's daydream comes to a halt when EO officers approach him, “Jay, Mr. Arga is waiting for you there.”

Jayadi followed the EO officer's pointer. Arga sat haughtily in a chair beside him Farida accompanied.

With a definite step, Jayadi walked over to the parents of his wife. After arriving at the table that Arga occupied, Jayadi stood in front of him. It seems that Arga also had no intention of asking Jayadi to sit down.

“What you wear will not change who you are,” said Arga, looking at the clothes Jayadi wore. He then presented a check sheet with 9 numbers listed on it. “This money will be enough for you not to appear again in front of me. Get out of here!”

“Sorry sir, but I am not a beggar,” Jayadi's answer successfully made Arga smile scornfully.

“Bugglers and beggars are the same, right?” asked Arga condescendingly.

“I paid for working, not by asking,” replied Jayadi, “father just save your money. If you don't want me here, I'll leave right now. Excuse me.” Jayadi left after saying that. He did not even say goodbye to the EO who hired him.
