Waking up in the morning blind, with the dark and cold conditions of the sea breeze that felt piercing to the bone, and, shivering in the cold no blanket can overcome the cold that radiates from the tip of the foot to the tip of the head is very unbearable.
The fire probably went out a long time ago. But there are still embers that billow out white smoke so it makes it easier for me to add twigs and also wood that I have provided yesterday afternoon.
After the fire started, I opened the last grain of coconut fruit that I climbed yesterday to drink it slowly while warming myself in front of the fireplace.
After the dawn broke, and it looked a little bright I tried to catch some sea animals, whether it was fish, crabs or anything I could eat and replenish the body's nutrients.
From yesterday afternoon I only ate coconut meat and some mushrooms I found in the forest. Maybe this time I'll eat seafood rich in nutrition in order to.
I walked down the beach, hoping there was something I could find for breakfast this morning, looking around from the rocks and rocks but I couldn't find anything.
I tried to get to the middle of the beach a little deep and nil, I found nothing but small fish that I was very quick to catch.
“Sial..!!” a fish the size of a fist big enough to pass, I tried to hit it with a spear, but missed the target.
“Is there nothing else I can eat on this beach?” I murmured to myself.
What can I do, I should eat coconut only. The body is getting tired and should save energy for later daylight exploring into the interior of the forest. Besides needing food, I also need fresh water to drink, there is no way I can survive if every day I have to drink coconut water, there must be a source of clean water to drink if you want to survive long in this foreign place.
“Hhssss... Shit.!” my feet tripped over a rock and fell on a coral reef.
I crawled through the sand to the fireplace, dragging my body that was covered with wounds on my back because of a fall. There was nothing else I felt but pain all over my body, not even the hunger I felt since then was like nothing.
Worse still, the wound on my leg was again covered in blood, immediately the eyes twitched and dizzy.
For a while I tried to lie down and close my eyes, set my breath to relax
After I calmed down more I opened my entire clothes to be dried by the heat of the great blazing fire, some of the wounds I felt were trying to be treated by the fluid from the Heartleaf plant that I brought yesterday from the forest.
Today I had to head for the forest, at least there was mushrooms or leaves I could consume because today I failed to catch fish and instead added to the problem with some new wounds on my back.
...----------------...
The first step in an emergency in a remote place is to find a clean water source that is worth drinking, if you want to survive and survive this is necessary because most of the human body is made up of water and when we do not drink for a long period of time it will dehydrate and cause dizziness and headaches such as what I experienced yesterday.
This place seemed to have not touched the hands of humans, all the places seemed to be overgrown with grass that had been as high as one meret, even when I walked no sign of ever being made a path of steps.
Armed with a folding knife, I cut down leaves and branches that block the road and eye view. Looking at the depth of the forest something useful, at least there are plants that I can make food.
The deeper I stepped the darker the sunlight could barely penetrate the lush trees.
I continued walking with the condition of the terrain that began to climb and steep rocks, too difficult for me to pass with the condition of the whole body felt that still feels pain.
There were some wild fruitless banana trees, I slashed some to take the inside. The inner banana stem is white with a soft texture and a little sweet. Good for dinner tonight.
I tried to rest for a moment, sit on a large rock and close my eyes for a while. I heard the sweet groan of trees swaying in the wind and the sound of birds perching on their branches.
I listened carefully to all the sounds I could perceive with my sense of hearing, among which there was a fairly subtle gurgling sound.
“Hemmm.. Sound of water, there seems to be a small river in this forest” said I.
Rushing I woke up and continued the journey, after passing through the stone stepped behind the cliff there was seen there was a small stream with clear water flowing that I did not know where to go.
“Hahaha.. Water!!!” I screamed in excitement and ran towards the small river that seemed not far from me.
After drinking some firm fresh water, I went through this small river looking for fish or shrimp that usually exist hiding in the crevice of river rocks. I thought there must be some kind of aquatic animals that I can make food, to provide additional nutrients for the body.
It turned out to be true, some small shrimp in groups with large numbers were visible in the rock crevices that I easily caught some of. It took a few minutes until it could gather a lot until one day my gaze was diverted to the figure of a fish as big as an adult calf.
I sneak so that the fish does not run away, long dark gray shape and there is a kind of mustache near his mouth. Never once have I found a fish like this, whether poisonous or not, I don't know either.
“Just relax, guys, I will definitely eat you gratefully” my murmur to the strange fish I managed to catch wearing clothes.
There may be about 2 KG or more, which is quite heavy for freshwater fish. It seems like he has lived long enough to become as big as he is today, chances are he is a predator of small fish in the river.
While making the fireplace, I saw some venomous snakes and also lizards or land crocodiles commonly found in moist areas near the river. Although afraid, but I know they will not approach the source of the fire, I just need to be more vigilant by sharpening my sense of hearing that is afraid that one time there are more dangerous animals.
The lunch menu this time is very luxurious, there are 3 pieces of fish meat, small shrimp and mushrooms. All I cooked together in a roast with a stone slab I put on the stove with a big fire.
Do not forget some herbal plants such as wild ginger and some fragrant leaves that I do not know the name to be a simple spice for my cooking.
The day was getting darker, some bats flocked out of their nests in great numbers. It seems like near here there is a cave, after I finished resting I brought the torch I made from some wood and the branches I tied up as big as a fist.
Walk along the river following the direction of the bat. And sure enough not far from where I rest there is a cave that is very large and seems very deep to the point that it looks dark no light comes in.
I vigilantly entered the cave with the illumination of the torch fire, pointing it to the left right to avoid sharp rocks and corals.
The smell in the cave is so rotten and stinging because of the bat droppings that have lived for a long time in the cave.
On the inside, there are several tall stalagmites shaped like towers.
“Thankful” my murmur was unceasingly amazed by the scenery before me that formed naturally, perhaps hundreds maybe millions of years ago.
Unknowingly I had walked for quite a long time and there was no sign that this cave was formed on two sides, maybe the entrance was only from that place.
I began to think, maybe this place was once inhabited by a kind of human who lived millions of years ago.
“Sials.. What is this!” I screamed hysterically in fear at the sight highlighted by the torchlight.
In a slightly spacious room, the light from the torch illuminated a number of scattered skeletons and skulls. The condition seems to have passed a long time even some of the skulls and skeletons have been fused with stalagmite rocks.
“Sials.. I'd better get out of here now” I'm rushing away from that horrible sight heading outwards.
I had not found the exit because it was dark, there was a roar that made me shudder in fear. There's no other choice I'd better get back in. But it seems like my existence has been known by the forest ruler.
I ran along the unfamiliar ridge, the pain and fatigue I did not feel, until I finally tripped over the skull I had seen and fell down.
I tried to stand up, but late, I turned my back and aimed the torch, swinging the torch to scare the big figure in front.
The torchlight reflected in the eyes of the huge figure before me, creating terrifying flashes within the dark cave.
“Graaaaaawwwrrrrr.
His big claw was about to hit my body but I managed to avoid it, I shifted quickly backwards avoiding every attack, making the predator more furious, without any sign of him crashing about to pounce. ‘I'm waiting for an opportunity like this’.
Before he could pounce, the dagger in my right hand was stuck in his back, enough to injure him and make him realize that I could not be easily defeated without a fight.
That way I could distract him, I got up and ran with all my might to the inside of the cave that did not know where the end was.
I don't care anymore, I can just keep running, the next attack will probably make me die in this cave and eat the big tiger.
My breath felt tight and sick, it was no longer strong to run. I staggered down and leaned against a huge stalagmite of towering height.
I tried to direct the torchlight to look for the scary figure, I had to be ready for the next attack, but there were no signs of his presence.
It seemed like the tiger had already left this cave.
Different from the place earlier, in the deepest part of the cave the air is very fresh and cold, and what makes me wonder is, there are many symbols that are drawn on the cave wall, which is very cool, hundreds of symbols are depicted with conditions that have almost faded.
True to my guess, there is a group of humans who once inhabited this cave, different from the skull and skeleton that I found earlier, I found, these symbols are younger in age because the prints of each symbol are precise and use a kind of ink that can stick to the walls of rocks. Obviously, humans were not the ancient humans who did it.
“Why these symbols are not on the outside”.
“Hemm..”.
It feels very far I walk, about 5 KM or more maybe less, I don't know for sure. The deeper I felt a cold wind. It seems like it's the way out.
I was hoping to find a way out, and the gusts of wind were getting louder. I accelerated my steps to reach the mouth of the cave immediately, The conditions outside must have been pitch dark because I have been walking for quite a long time since this afternoon.
It was thought to rest in the cave, to avoid the threatening danger at night. I was looking for a better place to relax and rest. I decided to walk forward looking for a place to rest.
When I went deeper, I came to the intersection, there were two paths in front of me and I didn't know which one to pass. Without thinking, I took a right direction, just a few minutes, the road was dead.
“It seems suitable for resting place” said while laying down on the sandy cave floor.
There is no sound other than the wind that sounds smooth in the ear gives a sense of comfort. Although it was cold and moist, but I had no choice but to rest here, the pain, fatigue and drowsiness mixed together as I felt. It is better for me to immediately sleep to replenish the energy that has been almost exhausted so that I can continue the journey the next day.
