The Enchantment of the Primadona
PSP 28: New Year's Day

Dona finally arrived home after a few days of camping with her friends. The school holidays are still one week away. And next week is the new year.

Bu Nir and Mr. Edi called Dona full of joy. The two hugged Dona tightly, like parents who had parted ways with a long period of time and had just met their current child. Both of them really miss the presence of Dona in the house.

"Where are you, son? You're doing okay, right? Nothing is abrasive, right?" Ms. Nir scouted Dona with various questions.

"Well, what is this? Why is there a medicated plaster on your leg?" This time it was Mr. Edi's turn to be chatty.

"Aduuuhhw. Mothers do not have to worry about gini dong. I'm doing fine. I'm really okay." Dona showed her smiling smile.

Ms. Nir and Mr. Edi looked at Dona's face, which looked fresh and different. Dona looked so happy from before.

"Are you in love?" Said Ms. Nir who made Dona's cheeks immediately reddened.

"Mom is there." Reply Dona.

"It looks like Mom was right. Look Sir! The face of this father's son is like boiled shrimp. Red Sir!" Toda Bu Nir's.

"Udah ah's. Same old mother weird." Pekik Dona while running into her room.

Dona put her body in her soft bed. Some days sleep only on a mat, making Dona's back feel so comfortable when touching a soft mattress that always accompanies every sleep. His eyes looked at the ceiling of the room and even what appeared in his view was the face of Gilang who was smiling and rolling eyes at him.

'Ah, I must be crazy.'

Dona averted her eyes and then tried to close her eyes. However, again Gilang's face is always imagined in front of him.

'What's wrong with me?'

Dona got up and tried to sit down. He tried to distract her by taking out the contents of his bag which was a dirty outfit he once wore while camping. An object that Gilang had given him this morning returned to Dona's focus. Heart shaped objects made from bamboo. The smile expands back engraved on Dona's lips.

'Am I really in love?'

"Ah, not possible." Dona said as she shook her head and laughed.

Dona was not aware of what was happening to her heart at the moment. All that is natural, because in his previous life, Dona at the age of 25 years has never felt the name in love.

He said, falling in love is a million times. Maybe those words are true. Mixed up is not because, it usually appears a variety of unique feelings when in love.

Love is a feeling that is not easily expressed through words. We will not know when and with whom we will fall in love. Everything is God's secret. And that's happening to Dona now.

Sometimes love can bring us infinite happiness. However, it is said that if you are ready to fall in love, you must be ready for heartache as well. So, love also carries wounds and teaches hurt.

When in love, of course, there are many feelings that arise inside the self unwittingly and felt before. Those feelings even appear suddenly and often confuse themselves. Just like Dona is currently experiencing. It took time for Dona to understand everything.

New year's night is coming soon. Dona and Ayu plan to celebrate their new year with a fire at Dona's house. Ayu who is close to Billy invites Billy to join. And as always, if there was Billy, then the other three men would definitely join in.

Bu Nir and Mr. Edi helped Dona and Ayu make the front yard of the house a place of burning to celebrate the new year. Three men besides Gilang, came in the afternoon with food and drinks. Although Mr. Edi has said that everything will be prepared, but both Billy, Raka and Aditya still bring their hands from their homes.

"You must be disappointed because Gilang hasn't come yet?"

"Son, who said." Kill Dona.

Raka smiled, he helped Dona to spice up the meat to be burned. Meanwhile, Ayu, Billy, and Aditya prepare the embers and arrange the food at the table.

"You like it with Gilang?" Ask Raka again.

"No." Reply Dona briefly and then choose to enter the house.

Dona went into the bathroom and washed her face. He was upset with himself. Why can others know that he is upset because of Gilang's absence.

"Come on Dona. Don't be like this." Dona looked at her face in the mirror and tried to smile.

Dona went back out of the house and continued to help others who began to burn meat, corn, sausages and others. Dona tried to show a smile on her lips despite the obvious fact that the smile seemed forced.

Until the time almost showed at 12 pm, Gilang did not display the trunk of his nose. All the food is on a neat table. One minute, the year will change. However, Dona instead of being excited even lost her spirit. Until a short message he read made his eyes sparkle.

'Look up to the sky.' read the message from Gilang.

And at exactly 12 p.m., the sky above Dona's house was strewn with fireworks so beautiful. Ms. Nir could not even close her mouth in astonishment. Dona could only be silent and unable to speak.

Gilang suddenly appeared with many gifts given to Dona's parents and other friends.

"Why are you late?" Ask Aditya.

"To prepare all that." Gilang replied pointing to the fireworks that still continue to shine.

"Curtain, rich man." Billy.

The event was continued by eating and opening gifts given by Gilang. Ms. Nir got a branded bag, while Mr. Edi got a luxury watch. Billy gets the shoes he has been looking for, Aditya gets clothes and jeans that cost to get one unit of the latest mobile phone, while Raka got some rare encyclopedia books that she had always wanted.

Not to forget Gilang also gave Ayu an object that he had always wanted. Especially if it is not a limited edition item from his favorite ginseng country boyband. I squealed with excitement until I hugged Dona and unceasingly thanked Gilang. As for Dona, Gilang prepared a small box and gave it to Dona at last.

When Dona opened the box, it was a pendant with the initials D.

"For you, as a sign....."

"Waaaahh thank you Lang. The best of the best." Aditya pulls Gilang's hand to get away from Dona and joins the other two men.

Dona can only smile happily, and hope that what Gilang is doing right now is sincere because he loves his friends and himself. Dona did not want to quickly interpret Gilang's feelings for him. Dona just doesn't want the feeling she has right now, to get hurt later.

'I just have to be careful, ' said Dona in a heart.

"The happy new year....." Shouted them all.
