Unlike the usual day, Deka came home early today. The clear sky was even still emitting the rest of its warmth. When he entered the house, he met the god.
“Loh, Wa. Again here?”
“Iya, Bang.”
“Where's syad?”
“No, I'm on my own. Out to the supplier, stop by here.”
“Ooh.” Deka noticed the appearance of his sister who was wearing a sarong and cocoa clothes. “Where to?” tanyakanya.
“Ke mosque, Bang.” The answer of the gods coincides with that of the Azan Asar. “Gue to mosque first, Bang. Entar again his kangen. Hihihi.”
“Wa, wait!” deka exclaimed when the God had stepped foot to the door.
“Iya, Bang.”
“Emm, Can I come to the mosque?” asked Deka hesitatingly.
“Abang want to come to the mosque? That's fine, Bang. Ayok!” The god smiled happy to hear that his brother wanted to come to the mosque.
Looks like Bang Deka's out of angel's wrath. Inner God murmured.
“Totally can?” Deka's eyes sparkled brightly. “Gue take a shower first, yes,” he continued.
“Eh, no need, Bang. No shower, too, papa. What is important is that you are clean from unclean, small hadas, and large hadas" said Dewa.
Deka frowned. “What was that you called earlier? Najis, what is hadas?" tanyakanya.
“Later to clear it while walking. Now we go straight to the mosque, azan already. Take the wudu at the mosque. Kuy lah!” dewa Sahut.
“Pake clothes like this no papa?”
“Iya ga papa, the important clean of the feces and cover aurat.”
“Yuk, Bang!"
God opened the door. Deka followed behind him. The two of them swung their way towards the complex mosque on foot.
“Bang, I can ask.” The god glanced at Deka who was walking beside him.
“Hemm. Want to ask what?”
“When was a kid where was your schoolboy? Sorry, I think Brother really does not understand the basics of religion.”
It's only natural that God doesn't know about Deka's school. When they were children they were separated because of divorce. Deka went with his papa, while the god went with his mamah. Both of their parents decided to re-refer when Deka sat in the third grade of High School. When their parents refer to them, the god is in the boarding school. When Dewa separated from the pesantren, Deka was studying abroad. Practically it makes the relationship of the two is only close lately.
Deka mentioned the name of the school where he used to study. A Christian School in Jakarta. The reason his papa used to enter the school was because of its strategic place, close to the office where his papa worked. Makes it easy to pick up.
“After me, our family is Islam. But yes, our family does not know religion. Prayer is important. For the first charity to be inflicted on a servant is his prayer,” said Dewa.
“But I can't pray.”
“Bang Deka can learn to pray.”
“Is it not too late, learn to pray this age?”
“Ga no word late to learn, Bang.” The last sentence of the gods accompanied their footsteps into the mosque.
“Wa, I can't pray yet. I'll wait outside for time yes.” Deka held back the steps of the Gods.
“Log in, ga papa. Who knows in Abang got hidayah,” said Dewa.
The god guides Deka's hand and continues the step inside. Deka followed his sister's steps with a gamang squeeze.
Before the prayer begins, they take the wudu first in the place of wudu provided by the mosque. Actually, the god was in the house earlier. Because he wanted to teach Deka, then he berwudu again.
This is the second time Deka has set foot in the mosque. The first time was when staying at Abah's house, then performing dawn prayers at the mosque of Cibening village. Unknowingly the holy place fostered a feeling that he longed for.
He himself did not understand what feelings were left so deep after first visiting the mosque at that time. He longed for the cool vibrations to creep to the heart as he knelt and pressed his forehead against the floor in a prayer mat. A feeling of peace that he had never felt before.
“So it's called Salat Asar,” bright Gods as they waltzed home.
“Oh.” Deka's answer was only ‘oh’ but did not deny the look of interest in the discussion conveyed by Dewa. “What is a person like me, can still pray?” tanyakanya.
“Malah mandatory, Bang. Fardu prayer is mandatory for every Muslim.”
“But I feel inappropriate. I'm too dirty, my sins are piling.”
The god embraces Deka's shoulders. “All men must have sin, Bang. Rest assured, beside a sinful servant, there is a God of mercy. Part of His mercy is to open the door of repentance for the servant who truly wants to repent.”
“Gue has long stopped and left the activities. I feel small and inappropriate .... “
“Bang, true penance not only stops from doing mischief, but also turns toward goodness and tries earnestly to stay on the path of that goodness,” by the Gods.
“Gue sure Brother has done that good. Now there remains how to make the good that you do so that it is worth worship. The way, Brother must be close to God,” continued Dewa.
There was no more conversation between them. God deliberately gave Deka a chance to be able to digest his words.
The two handsome men reached home. They walked up to the room on the second floor. They grabbed the door of each room whose position was opposite.
“Wa,” call Deka shortly before the Gods enter his room.
“Iya, Bang.” The god turned his head around answering the call of Deka.
“Please teach me prayer,” pinta Deka earnestly.
Nailed for a moment because of hearing Deka's request, the God immediately approached her brother and immediately hugged him.
“Alhamdulillah, his horror. God willing with pleasure, I accompany Abang learn to pray,” said Dewa, still hugging Deka.
Previously, Dewa asked permission first to Mimin by phone. He told his young pregnant wife to stay at his parents' house. Hearing the reason given by God, Mimin allowed him to stay and even supported him to teach Deka prayer.
After the magrib the Lord wrote a prayer reading in a book. The prayer reading he wrote with Latin letters to make it easier for Deka to memorize, because Deka could not read Arabic script.
After dinner, the two brothers went to Deka's room.
“This, Bang.” The god handed over a book in which there is a prayer reading of his handwriting. “Abang read, then memorize.”
“Many also yes to memorize.”
“Bang Deka ‘kan pinter school time, definitely dilute to memorize it mah. This prayer reading I deliberately wrote using alphabetic letters because Bang Deka definitely can not read Arabic letters ‘kan?”
Deka nodded.
“Well, later if this is already memorized. We continue to learn njai iqro,” continued Dewa.
Deka nodded again.
“Before memorizing it, Brother read this first. You should know first the pillars of prayer, the legal conditions of prayer, what invalidates prayer. This is still his book, old book got me first.” Dewa handed over a book titled ‘Complete Salat Demands’ whose cover has been worn out by time.
The gods explain starting from the basics of jurisprudence about holiness, about uncleanness, hadas big and small, also about wudu. Deka listened intently to the God's explanation.
“You guys again what?” Mama bows her head at the door of Deka's room.
“Log here, Mah,” sahut Dewa.
Mama went into the room and sat on the edge of the bed next to the God.
“Complete prayer guide.” Mama read the title of the book taken from Deka's hands. “You want to learn prayer?”
“Iya, Mah. Bang Deka wants to learn salad.” The Lord answered Mama's question.
“You want to learn to pray?” search Mama.
“Iya, Mah. Ga papa ‘kan?”
“Ga papa, dong. Emm ... Mama also wants to learn to pray, can?”
“By a bang, Mah.” The God grabbed the shoulder of Mama who was sitting beside him. “God is very tense.”
“Papa not invited, here!” exclaimed Papa who suddenly appeared and joined.
“Papa want to learn to pray too?” god Lontar.
“To be honest since papa made an appointment with your in-laws, papa already wants to learn to pray, but ... embarrassed to say it,” Papa said.
The God smiled hearing Papa's honesty. “Ga to be ashamed, Pah. It is forbidden to be ashamed to do a favor.”
“Papa worry can't.”
“It can, Pah. Let us go to heaven together,” said Dewa.
“Then let's learn to pray together,” Mama said.
“It looks like God should call ustaz. If the God taught himself, worried that God is not able to go back and forth Serang-Jakarta.”
“Iya, Wa .. papa agrees. You better call a professional ustaz to teach us prayer.”
“Siap, Pah. Oya, by the way what makes Papa want to learn to pray?” ask the curious god.
“Because later papa wants to take the Hajj like your in-laws,” replied Papa. “Let papa be called ‘Pak Haji’, Haji Satya Nugraha.”
The god shook his head to hear Papa's reply. Deka and Mama laughed. Apparently Papa secretly aspires to be Pak Haji.
