The Goddess of Don Pablo

The Goddess of Don Pablo
Chapter 18: Finding Evidence of Jessie's Death

Ray is at his office desk with a stack of files containing all police reports of Jessie's death. He read in detail every hand written in it. Richard, the boss is right. All the forensic results and reports from the police are nothing unusual. Jessie's death was declared a sudden heart attack. He also saw the details of police reports during the TKP. none of the reports from witnesses or CCTV evidence that showed the awkwardness of the death of his colleague. It was written by a witness who was a visitor to the restaurant where Jessie was at the time. The witness saw Jessie coming alone and eating alone. Up to about 30 minutes after he ate his food he looked weak and in pain until he suddenly fell. There was no CCTV evidence or evidence from witnesses at the time that Jessie was with someone at the time of the incident. Ray thought hard with a stack of paper and data he had. Nil. He does not find a suspicious red thread, which can prove Jessie's death was a murder. But his instinct as a police officer sensed something was odd about his partner's death. Repeatedly he read one by one the paper reports of his colleague's death. Damnit damnit! I can't find anything from here! his mind is starting to get upset. He saw a name written under the results of the forensic lab. A signature and name are listed at the bottom of the forensic letter. The name of a doctor who autopsied Jessie's body at the time. Ray finally decided he had to meet in person and ask the doctor. His hands began to play on the computer keyboard in front of him.He typed the name in the search engine on his PC. Until a personal data of the doctor he was looking for appeared. There is an address or contact number. He notes on a small piece of paper on his desk. Put the note in his pocket. He saw his watch. The clock still shows at 09:30 am. A little busy at that time, some of his colleagues were busy struggling with their computers. Some were chatting casually while sipping coffee in their hands. He walked out of his room. Tracing a glass room, the room of his superior, Richard. He did not see the man in his room at the time. Ray decided to go out that morning. He intends to see doctor Breyman directly at his workplace. Ray rushed out and headed for the parking lot. That day he took his personal car. A black sedan. He went into it. The car's engine rattled as it turned the key. Ray drove out of his office building.

Ray was in a clean white room. The walls of the room contained several charters and certificates of appreciation that showed the credibility of the person who owned the room. Not long ago a middle-aged man who almost all parts of his head almost filled with gray hair. But his physical stature still looked fit and dashing. Doctor Breyman, a figure who was close to Ray's prediction at the time. This is the first time he has met her. The doctor shook Ray's hand.

"Sorry, make you wait a long time. I just had a little operation. What's the need, officer ?" the doctor saw Ray's uniform.

"I'm Ray. If you don't mind, I'd like to talk a little bit about your forensic results for the death of a friend of mine named Jessie. You remember that ?" ray opened the conversation politely.

"Hmm.sorry, Officer, can you help me refresh my memory.I've handled a lot of patients lately.." the doctor answered, his forehead frowning slightly trying to remember the name called Ray.

"Oh...Jessie ..Jessie was pronounced dead of a heart attack while at a Chinese restaurant. You remember the doctor ? Aren't you the one who issued the forensic results of his death ?" replied Ray straightforwardly.

"oh.iya ..I remember now. Unfortunately, the man.. If only he hadn't eaten there." Breyman told Ray.

" Hmm...doctors are there nothing unusual about your forensic results on his body ?" ask Ray briefly.

"Hmm.I wrote his death. Arrhythmia, or sudden cardiac arrest due to irregular heart rhythms is the cause." said the doctor briefly.

"Yes.I've read all the results of your report in paper. Can you help me doctor ? I mean ...my friend has no history of heart disease or is taking certain drugs that can trigger sudden cardiac arrest. So how could he have been declared dead of a heart attack ?" ask Ray in a search. The soul of an investigator cannot be covered. His conscience believes there is something odd about the death of his colleague.

"You mean, Dok ? to my knowledge, my colleague did not take certain drugs." Ray replied again unsatisfied to hear the doctor's answer.

"Hmm.meaning the death of your colleague may be caused by the food he consumed at that time. If I don't remember wrongly I found in his blood a number of tetrodotoxin substances in sufficient quantities to turn it off.I mean the death of your colleague is something natural...because the substance can be found in certain types of octopus and puffer fish.the type of seafood that is only served in certain restaurants that should have a license for it. Because the animal is a dangerous animal for general consumption and can not be carelessly processed", replied Breyman doctor explained in more detail the forensic results.

"So you mean, my colleague's heart attack was caused because the food he ate was toxic food ?" ray asked back without a shadow.

"Hmm.sopannya your colleagues at that time may be wrong to order a luxurious menu at the restaurant.so he did not think maybe they could not process it properly and professionally...which makes him have to lose his life." replied the doctor calmly like understanding the mind of Ray who was struggling to hear an explanation.

"You think personal doctor Breyman, could it be a deliberate factor that someone can make on my co-workers ?" ask Ray carefully.

"For this, sorry Officer..I can not answer clearly just like that.I mean I.know me to process certain types of food, especially those containing harmful substances is not easy...even an expert professional could have made a mistake back then.and your partner might at the same time be in such a state.." breyman said the doctor was calm. The doctor was like knowing the suspicions of the police in front of him at that time. He is already used to being a forensic expert doctor who is asked for help for his abilities by the police. So that he is accustomed to provide answers and analysis results with his forensic abilities without balancing and cornering one particular party. Ray sat down for a moment in front of Doctor Breyman. His brain was recording and processing every word that the doctor said. His brain began to digest one by one the data he had in mind. He also stood up from his seat. He understood where he would look. He believes he can solve the mystery of Jessie's death. He smiled as he shook the doctor's hand in front of him.

"Thank you, Doctor Breyman. If you don't mind, I'll call you back if there's anything I need to ask you." Ray told the man.

" Officer Ray, of course. My door is always open to it.or maybe if you want to treat as a patient I have absolutely no objection to it .." he said a little joke to Ray. His row of white teeth was visible as he smiled widely. Doctor Breyman's face looked like an authoritative old man who was kind and friendly to his guests. Ray simply replied to the doctor's joke with a small laugh. He walked out of the room to the parking lot. He knows where to go after this...Ray is increasingly convinced his suspicions will pay off as he hoped.
