Chapter 13 Mysterious Little Girl

The girl was sitting alone on the side of the street. The atmosphere in this place is very quiet because that is the place to hang out the thugs. Glenn felt amazed that the girl dared to go to this area alone to cry.

"You okay?" Glenn immediately questioned him.

(WALL! Congratulations Master managed to talk to the little girl on the side of the road. Luck +1)

The little girl raised her face. Her disheveled hair slightly covered her face, but Glenn could still see her face clearly. He looks young. Even the baby fat on her cheeks was still clearly visible. Maybe fifteen years old or younger.

The girl looked at him with a sharp gaze that hinted 'don't bother me'. But it still looks cute because of her face. He did not reply to Glenn's words at all.

"It's raining soon and this place is dangerous. You better go home because your parents must be worried" Glenn began to lecture her.

"Humph!" the girl just snorted. KRUKK...Glenn could hear the sound of starving stomachs. The little girl's face flushed in embarrassment and she lowered her face again.

"You hungry?" ask Glenn.

"..." he didn't answer.

(Mission detected. Cooking for a little girl) The system starts giving her a mission about this foreign girl twice in a row now.

"Is he one of the important figures?" glenn asked the system.

(System cannot answer) Reply the system in an indifferent tone.

But before that he got missions related to the fat manager in succession. Maybe this little girl is just a mission target that is indeed determined by the system at random.

"Then I'll call the police. It's dangerous for a little girl like you to wander around at night" Glenn immediately turned around. Of course he just bullied her. And the bluff proved to be very effective. The little girl stood up and held Glenn's clothes tightly with glaring eyes.

"You don't want me to call the police?"

The girl was still looking at him with bulging eyes, but then she responded by shaking her head slowly.

"Then leave this place and go home"

The girl shook her head quickly and gritted her teeth furiously.

"Hah~" Glenn gave up on telling her to go home. "I'll buy you a meal. You want to come with me?"

"...." - ".The little girl did not respond.

Glenn knew that he was doing the wrong thing now. If anyone else finds out he's bringing an underage girl into his house. He might be labeled a pedophile and end up in prison. But he must complete his mission. Besides it's night, nobody's gonna see him take a little girl to his apartment.

Glenn thought he needed to try even harder to persuade the little girl. But it turned out that the little girl nodded slowly.

Glenn was a little surprised. "You're not afraid I'm setting you up?"

"You won't be able to" the little girl replied. This was the first time Glenn had heard his voice. Her voice is pretty beautiful.

"All right, come with me"

Glenn had a small table in the middle of the room. He told the girl to wait there. He was relieved that he had cleaned his apartment a little, so there was no trash scattered on the floor of his apartment. Even so, the condition of the apartment still looks seedy and dirty. He could see the look of disdain from the little girl as she walked into his apartment. She can't do anything about it, she just wishes she could move to a new apartment when she gets more money.

Glenn took off his black suit and put down his office bag. Then he headed to the kitchen and checked the ingredients. He thought about what he should cook now.

"What's your name?" Glenn asked.

The little girl did not answer. Glenn was already used to being ignored by this little girl.

"I'll cook egg omelets and potato soup. Can you eat this?" ask Glenn again.

The little girl nodded slowly.

Glenn started cooking. He felt that cooking was an easy job for him ever since he obtained that skill. He mixed salt into the egg dough and managed to make an omelet with perfect shape. Two egg omelets are perfectly laid out.

Then Glenn went on to cut the potatoes into squares. Then boil it and add the broth seasoning. He had no meat, so this was really just pure potato soup. And he serves two servings of potato soup in a small bowl.

Glenn understood how these skill points worked. Every time he cooked a different meal eating his skill points would increase. He saw the latest status of his cooking skill.

Glenn served all the food on a small table in the middle of the room. He told the little girl to eat. The little girl looked at all the food with a doubtful look. His expression said as if 'why should I eat this? Is this delicious?'. Of course he doubted Glenn's cooking ability. According to him the cooking ability of an uncle living in a shabby apartment would be very bad. But he still had to eat because he was hungry now. Moreover, the food gives off a very good aroma even though it is very simple.

Glenn did not wait for the little girl. He ate first. The little girl threw away her doubts and began to put a mouthful of food into her mouth.

The little girl's eyes sparkled. He looked at Glenn then he looked towards his food and he started eating voraciously. He never thought that Glenn's cooking would be that delicious. He finished his meal in just five minutes. Glenn was shocked, because Glenn had not even finished his meal. Then he started thrusting his empty bowl towards Glenn. The little girl wanted to eat again.

"I don't cook more" Glenn only cooked enough portions for two people. He does not cook more for fear of wasting food if it does not run out.

The little girl looked at him pouting. Then he put down his empty bowl with a sad expression.

"You want to stay over?" ask Glenn again.

"...." - ".The little girl did not respond.

Glenn's tired. He has completed his mission. He no longer cared about the little girl. It's up to him to do what. Glenn took a shower and changed his clothes. As she exited the bathroom, the girl still did not move from her place. Glenn ignored him as well. He needs to rest. He's very tired now and he has to get up early tomorrow. So he immediately laid himself on the bed and fell asleep quickly.

The little girl moved from her place as Glenn was sound asleep. He drew closer to the bed, then looked at Glenn's face with a mysterious look. Then the little girl began to raise her hand, and touched Glenn's nose, cheeks and forehead with her index finger. He was curious about the object in front of him.

The system is ringing. And the fast-asleep Glenn doesn't realize he's unlocking another hidden mission from a new important figure.
