Chapter 20 New Daughter-in-law

Suddenly Glenn gained mission comprehension as he opened his eyes. He has not even collected his life. He rolled over and stretched his body before waking up. His back hurt because he had to sleep on a hard floor. His old mattress was used by his mother who was still sound asleep.

Glenn remembered that he no longer had the money in his wallet to buy the woman lunch. So he immediately took the 200 zloth sari system.

He immediately got two pieces of cash in his pants pocket. So he immediately moved it into the wallet.

"My mother left first" she said goodbye to the mother who had woken up from her sleep.

"be careful on the road"

Arriving at the office, he saw Wen already sitting in his chair. As usual, the woman always arrived early.

"Wen" Glenn called out to him but suddenly Wen raised his phone and left his seat. And he came back when the office hours started, so Glenn couldn't talk to him anymore. And finally, the break hour arrived.

"Wen" Glenn called out to him again, but Wen acted as if he didn't hear it. He turned and walked away.

Glenn frowned. He chased after Wen and pulled his wrist. "What's wrong with you?" tanyanya's confused.

"What do you mean?" Wen asked back. "Oh, I didn't hear you earlier" she lied. Then he took his hand out of Glenn's.

"I want to take you to lunch" Glenn said later.

Wen did not respond.

"This time I'll pay as gratitude. I hope you accept it because I don't like debt of gratitude" Glenn really doesn't like having debt of gratitude with other people. He will help those who have helped him and of course he will also destroy his enemies quickly. He's the kind of person who doesn't like drama in his life.

"Alright.." Wen finally agreed.

Glenn was relieved. He immediately pulled the woman into the cafeteria and ordered two servings of food for them.

Glenn began the conversation on the topic of an art exhibition that would be held in a few days. Even though he read from the internet. He felt Wen knew more about this than the internet had revealed. And Glenn's guess is right. Wen told him some famous artists who would come at the art fair to show off their talents. He also told her that the place would be heavily guarded as some artists brought their artwork worth hundreds of thousands to exhibit.

"Hundreds of thousands?" Glenn thought about how he had to raise that kind of money with his small salary, and then he also fantasized that his calligraphy was being paid a fortune. Although it may not be hundreds of thousands for one work. He could still earn tens of thousands of zloths by selling some works.

"You have to try hard. I hope you're lucky" Wen said.

"Thank you." Glenn responded. "I could see the stronghold logo as a sponsorship on the show. Do you know anything?" glenn asked later. He was really curious about this.

Wen thought for a moment. "I don't know much" He showed me something on his phone. "It looks like there are some students who came because of the art exhibition. But I don't know their purpose. The school was not even an art school" he said confusedly. "Then one more thing. The art exhibition was held by a famous family in the city"

"Famous family? Who?"

"The owner of the Doha Pharmacy Group" Wen replied with sparkling eyes.

Glenn felt the name was not foreign. Then he remembered that it was the company where Harris worked. Maybe he'll meet the young man there since he's one of the security guards at the company.

"so. I want to ask you again" Glenn said

"What?"

"You don't want you to accompany me to the art fair? I signed up as a participant. But I can't seem to work alone and need a companion. Were you busy that day?"

"I'm not busy. Alright. I'll accompany you"

"But it's not free" Wen smiled mysteriously. "10% of the income" she blinked her eyes.

"Okay, no problem"

Just then, the fat manager flashed with a woman in the hall. Everyone who was eating in the cafeteria could see the scene clearly. The fat manager looked very respectful and followed the woman like a little mouse behind her. They talked to each other, but Glenn could not hear what they were talking about.

"Who is that?" Glenn whispered. Since the room was very quiet right now, his voice would be striking if he were speaking.

Wen's eyes widened in shock. "You don't know your own boss?" said sarcasm.

Glenn immediately smiled slightly while laughing. "I can't see his face clearly from this place. So I don't recognize him." Glenn immediately confirmed his words. But she really did not know that the boss of this company was a fairly young woman.  But he didn't think too much about it.

After she finished her work, she accompanied her mother to shopping. Therefore he had to withdraw money again from the system. She wanted her mother to be able to buy whatever she wanted this time.

A 500 zloth note appeared in his pocket. Glenn gave the money to his mother.

"It's too much" Rui said objecting. "You can't spend your pocket money. You have to keep it" he immediately refused.

"It's okay mom. I got a bonus from the office. That's not my pocket money" Glenn honestly. He gets that money from the system instead of his monthly allowance. "Then I'll be paying too soon. I want you to buy whatever you want now. Don't refuse or I'll be sad" Glenn pretended to put on a sad expression in front of his mother.

"Well, I'll take it. But I won't spend it. I will only buy some food supplies until we move next month" replied Rui resigned.

They went to the biggest shopping mall in town. Then they started to go into a store. Rui started picking and buying some groceries. He bought bread, milk, vegetables, eggs, meat, oil and others. She intends to cook breakfast for her son later. Not forgetting she bought a new mattress for Glenn as she could not bear to see him sleeping on the floor.

Rui picked one of the fruits. Then there are other hands that want to take the fruit as well. They clashed. Rui turned her head and saw a young girl beside her.

"Miss, I took this fruit first" Rui said.

"Oh, I'm sorry" the young girl said gently as she moved her hand away.

Glenn came back holding a coffee sachet and he was a little surprised to see the figure beside his mother. "Wen?"

Wen. "Hello" he said shyly.

Rui observed both. "You know each other?"

"Mother, this is Wen, my coworker. Wen, this is my mother" Glenn introduced the two.

"Hello aunt. Forgive me for being disrespectful earlier" Wen said regretfully.

"It's okay, it's okay" Rui replied quickly. He glanced at Glenn. "You've taken her home, haven't you?" Rui still remembered the words of her son.

"Yes. I'm just grateful that he's been buying me food" Glenn replied.

"oh" Rui's eyes sparkled. He glanced at Wen and smiled. "Beautiful girl, are you married or not?"

"Yet..."

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

"No.." replied Wen timidly.

"Ohohoho, new daughter-in-law!"

"Mother!"
