"Leana, wait. Aunty will pick up the phone first" Maudy said as her phone rang.

Maudy heaved a sigh of relief, at least now she did not have to hide her pain because from now on she really wanted to drink.

Leana nagging. The boy was still wondering why Maudy was not spicy, even though he had added a lot of chili powder in his food.

"Ah I don't know, why is he so hard to judge" said the boy.

Maudy immediately went outside, lucky he brought a tumbler filled with juice until now he immediately drank it. The spicy taste is still there even though he has spent the entire contents in the bottle.

Maudy's phone kept ringing, but she didn't make the call because her tongue was still burning hot.

After a long time, finally the spicy taste in Maudy's mouth disappeared. He now sits down for a moment before going inside again because he must not show that he is being tormented because of the brownies he eats.

After sitting down, Maudy recalls that someone called her making her reach into the bag and then pulled out the phone. She smiled when she saw Steve's number.

"Finally you're in a trap, Steve," Maudy said.

Maudy did not call Steve back, he waited for the man to call him again because he wanted to sell expensive.

Before long, Maudy developed her smile again when a call came back to her phone. Who else if not from Steve.

Before answering a call from her ex-husband, Maudy cleared her throat. He tried to stay calm then pressed the green button and brought the phone closer to his ear.

"Hello, with whom is this?" ask Maudy who pretended not to know that it was her ex-husband's number.

Steve did not speak. The man was confused where to start.

"Maudy," call Steve, he's finally talking this time.

"Well, it's me, sorry who am I talking to?" ask Maudy.

"It's me, Steve," he answered.

Maudy was silent for a moment after hearing Steve say his name.

"What's wrong?" maudy's question sounded cold and flat.

"I want to let you know that Geo's in the hospital" replied Steve across the street.

"Then, what's the deal with me?" ask Maudy.

Steve rounded his eyes when he heard Maudy's reply. Shouldn't the woman be worried about Geo, then why now sound indifferent?

"Maudy, Geo's sick and he needs your help" Steve said.

Maudy is holding back a laugh. What a funny thing, the man who used to be arrogant now even spoke very softly.

"Obati only there, many hospitals. I closed the call because I had to teach." Maudy immediately turned off her call and instantly the woman's laughter exploded.

"Auntie, why?" leana asked who suddenly followed her outside because Maudy did not go inside.

Maudy turned to Leana and shook her head. "It's okay" he answered.

Maudy got up and went back inside.

"Hows it? What what did Maudy say?" elsa asked as Steve lowered the phone down.

Steve looked lethargic. She did not expect Maudy to say that, where she sounded unconcerned. In fact, he really hopes his ex-wife was surprised by the circumstances of Geo.

"I wish I had heard wrong, but I didn't."

"What do you mean?" ask Elsa.

"Maudy instead says that he doesn't care about Geo at all. Why did he change? Geo his son and he should have cared" said Steve grumbling because of Maudy's attitude.

"Maybe Maudy's heart is too broken, Steve. You kept Geo away from him, you forcibly took him. Which mother isn't devastated when treated like that?"

Steve closed his eyes and then rubbed a rough face. "So, what should I do? Doesn't Geo need a bone marrow donor? If not, the condition will get worse," said Steve in a poignant tone as if he had lost his way.

"Mommy suggested that Maudy pick her up and ask her to come here and ask her to donate to Geo."

"But what if Maudy doesn't believe me and thinks I'm the same as yesterday?" steve asked her son's hair.

"Nothing is impossible, Steve. Now press your ego and think about Geo," Elsa said again making Steve bite his lip and then nodded.

"Alright, but I don't know where Maudy is because he's not in India anymore either."

“Hmm, Maudy is in Germany.”

One week later.

Steve set foot in Germany's Francfurt airport. In the end, after experiencing considerable inner upheaval, he decided to catch up with Maudy after getting all the information about her, such as address and others.

Now, Steve gets rid of his fear and prestige because the most important thing is that Maudy can come to Russia and donate his marrow to Geo. He didn't care about anything anymore, most importantly his son had to survive.

Steve's out of the airport. The man immediately ordered a taxi and asked the driver to deliver it to the destination.

This is where Steve is, in front of Maudy's house. Because the gate was not closed, he entered and repeatedly knocked on the door also pressing on the bell.

However, there is no inside word and Steve thinks that it is possible that Maudy is away making him choose to wait there. Until finally, the time showed at nine o'clock in the evening, and that meant that it had been almost five hours that the man had stayed there.

However, until now, Maudy has not returned home. I don't know where the woman is, which is clear now Steve wants to go to the bathroom because it's been five hours he's been holding something back.

When Steve decides to go to the hotel and stay there, suddenly a car stops in front of Maudy's house making him undo the intention.

Maudy grinned as her turnstile opened because she knew it was Steve. He got out of the car and prepared himself to act as natural as possible.

After that, Maudy opened the fence. He was instantly speechless when he saw Steve, and vice versa. Their eyes locked on each other.

Maudy advanced towards Steve who was also approaching her, until they met in the middle.

"What are you here for?" maudy asked coldly and flatly.

Instead of answering, Steve focused on Maudy's face. After three years of not seeing each other, he saw a lot of changes in his ex-wife who now looks more beautiful and mature.

"What are you here for?" maudy asked again to wake Steve from his daydream.

"Let's talk" Steve asked.

Maudy nodded. "Please come in."

Maudy's bringing this time sounded so calm without the slightest emotion. Of course because it was planned.

Now, the ex-husband-wife is sitting in the living room. Steve remained silent. She was nervous to see Maudy.

"What are you doing here?" maudy asked again because Steve didn't answer.

This time, Steve did not answer. He racked his brain looking for the right word to convince Maudy to be willing to donate his marrow to Geo.

"Is this Geo's problem?" ask Maudy.

"Geo has leukemia. My family and I have had tests for a spinal cord donor, but none of them fit Geo. And you're our only hope."

Maudy nodded her head. "What if I don't agree?"

Steve felt weak. Somehow Maudy changed so quickly, when before he desperately defended Geo, and now he looks flat to face the news that his son was declared leukemia.

"Maudy please, it's for Geo. What if Geo doesn't survive?"

Maudy chuckled softly. "Since three years ago, when you brought Geo. Since then I've thought he's gone."

Maudy stopped talking. He felt claustrophobic when he said that, but he was forced to convince Steve.

"Maudy, why are you talking like that?"

"Steve, did you forget how arrogant it was that you took Geo from me? You boasted that Geo would live happily with you, so why now do you come again when he's dying?" ask Maudy.

Steve was silent, as if at a loss for words to simply answer Maudy's question.

"Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry if I hurt you then."

"Currently, if you hurt me then. It's obvious you hurt me as his mother. Then why are you ...." Maudy stopped her words, she realized when she was almost provoked by emotion.

"Not that I don't love Geo, but since the day you took him, that day I've wiped you out of my life."

Steve's face paled when he heard Maudy's words. "Maudy, I beg you, I'll do whatever you want to donate for him. It's more important than anything."

This is what Maudy was waiting for. The woman did not answer directly.

"Geo really needs a donor from you."

Maudy nodded her head. "Bring him and operate him here. Then the condition is, let him be with me" Maudy said.

"You don't want to treat Geo, but after you recover, you want to be with him?"

"Yes or not? If not, please leave here. I'll never know Geo's situation again."

"All right, I'll agree to whatever it is. But, can I ask you something?" steve asked hesitantly to say his wish.

"What?"

"I want to ask permission to see Geo at any time."

"I'm not going to ban you" Maudy said, rounding Steve's eyes.

"Do you believe me?" steve asked, looking at Maudy with a look of disbelief.

Maudy had thought a lot about this. He tried to position himself as Geo, the boy must be tired if kept in doctrine by everyone. His mentality must have hit when he saw his match and Steve, that's why he chose that path. He also did not want to make his in-laws anxious.

Hearing Maudy's words, Steve was bowed. Now, he understood by the proverb "reply evil with good", and that what the ex did to him made him feel ashamed.

"Why don't you forbid me from meeting Geo, just like I used to?" ask Steve.

Steve didn't really ask this, he was just curious. Maudy is chuckling. "It's more important than anything. We can relate well as friends and forget everything. Let's be good parents to our son."

Maudy ended it all with a smile and it made Steve relieved. If only Maudy could not defeat her ego when Stev came here, maybe until now her heart is still shrouded in vengeance and fear.

"Thank you, Maudy."

Maudy got up and reached out to Steve. "Let's be friends, Steve," he said.

Steve returns Maudy's hand to be a sign that from now on, they will work together to be good parents for Geo.

A few days later.

Geo hugged Maudy tightly, and vice versa.

Yesterday, Geo just arrived in Germany and tonight, they're going to do a fake operation. Both are now in the hospital.

Elsa and Nauder are forced to rent a full floor to carry out this mission, also to avoid Steve's suspicions that are now like a dazed man. The man sat on the sofa watching his son and ex-wife.

It felt, even though he was just imagining, but he could feel as sick as what Geo did during the operation later.

Nauder, who was sitting next to Steve, covered her mouth with a laugh as she looked at the silly-looking son.

Maybe one day, he'll tell Steve this when Stev's relationship with Maudy improves. Nauder and Elsa, who had been obsessed with uniting them, were now both resigned and no longer wanted to impose their will. Knowing that his son and ex-daughter-in-law were friends was enough.

Before long, there was a sound of people running followed by an open door. Everyone stared there with round eyes in surprise when they saw who had come, Alya.

Apparently, Alya followed to Germany. He who got news Geo will be operated on, without thinking long immediately came here to meet the son.

When Alya came in, Steve got up and dragged the woman out, rounding Maudy's eyes. However, he did not want to interfere anymore in the affairs of the two. Whether they are divorced or not, for sure now his life has returned to perfection.

"What do you want to come here? How dare you show yourself in front of me" said Steve.

"Steve I want to accompany Geo."

"Maudy's her mother, and you have no right to touch her again."

Alya looked at Steve in disbelief. He then forcefully pulled the man's arm then laughed out loud.

"Then what are you?" Now, Alya started to dare to fight back because she did not accept being separated from Geo.

"I'm his father and you're just another man."

"But you kidnapped him, Steve."

Steve thought there was no point in arguing with Alya. "Go from here before I get to drag."

"No way, I'll keep waiting here!" alya shouted in a thunderous manner.

All this time, Alya has been patient with Steve's attitude. He even stayed in their apartment despite the man repeatedly evicting him.

However, upon hearing that Geo was going to be operated on with Maudy, he could not keep quiet. He wants to support his son.

The two now looked back because they heard the sound of the open door of the ward. The figure of Maudy who approached them.

"If you want to see Geo, take a look, but don't make a fuss and remember never to admit he's your son. Lucky I'm still kind enough to let you see it" Maudy said, making Alya inflamed.

"Why do you dare to organize me?!" alya.

Really, Alya's world really feels destroyed right now.

“Alia!” shout Stev.

"I've given you a chance, but if you mess with Geo again then you'll know the consequences. Now calm down and shut up if you still want to meet my son." Maudy emphasized my son's words to Alya who did not reply and looked at him with an aura of hostility. That woman can't fight because Steve's here.

"Miss Maudy."

Suddenly, Richard's voice from behind made Maudy turn. Apparently, the man had come with Leana who seemed to have been crushed by her.

The little girl seems to have been dependent on Maudy, making her force her father to come to the hospital. Maudy approached Richard and smiled.

They talked for a while and the interaction of the two did not escape the sight of Steve and Alya.

Finally, the tense moments for Steve arrive, where Geo and Maudy's gurney will now be pushed into the operating room.

They look like real patients who are about to undergo surgery. Where both are installed various medical equipment that will certainly be removed after arriving in the operating room.

Steve clasped Geo's hand with a paled face. Meanwhile, Alya, since then she did not move even a little from the waiting chair. He wants to take Geo to the operating room, but he disengages the intention because of the presence of in-laws or who will soon become his former in-laws.

The operating room door is now closed, the light turns green sign the operation has begun. Out there, Steve paces around without knowing that Geo and Maudy are laughing.
