CHAPTER 40 - Temporary Farewell

The sun had already risen a moment ago and the three of them had already finished preparing. The sleeping bag they used last night had been tidied up and entered into storage magic, and now it was time for them to depart. Just as Rio and Anna were about to leave for the city this morning, they both intended to take them all the way to the main gate.

The door was opened and the three of them were preparing to leave the house but something unexpected happened. Most of the residents gathered in front of Rio's house. They waited patiently and when the door opened they immediately retreated and bowed. One of their representatives expressed their deep-seated gratitude towards Audrey and her two colleagues, even before she introduced herself or mentioned her name.

“Te... Thank you very much Miss.. The three of you who are very young have saved us all...” Say them simultaneously and then continued one of the representatives.

“Ah yes.... the same, no need like that haha, after all the three of us are still novice adventurers. We just did our job haha.” Eliana said with a very friendly smile even though her hands were busy closing Audrey's mouth. The same thing happened to Hendry, although his face did not look concerned about his hand still locking Audrey until he became a little calmer.

“Ta but... Thanks to you guys the main problem since many years here is resolved.. We are very grateful to be able to meet people like you.. Anyway thank you very much..”.

“Iya equally... haha..” Said Eliana kindly and a little chuckling as she was still trying to calm Audrey down.

After Audrey had calmed down and the brief stale talk with the citizens here was over, they all started to leave, it was a little bit later than expected but that was no problem, because they could still reach the capital before afternoon. All the residents had returned, while the five of them continued their journey to the city.

A short while later they reached near the main gate of the city, and now it was time for Hendry, Audrey and Eliana to part with Rio and Anna.

“Thanks for stopping by.. has taught us something valuable. Whenever big brother is in this city, do not hesitate to stop by..”.

“Good...thank you very much, Take good care of yourself well. Goodbye..”

The three of them started flying and left the two of them at the main gate of this city. Rio and Anna waved as their farewell greetings. The atmosphere was getting warmer in the meadow that spread around the city of Angresia, the wind blew slowly while the grass continued to flutter.

This journey home was not rushed but felt shorter, in an instant the grasslands began to be left behind replaced by the dense trees growing in the forest. The sea of leaves spread wide which indicates their destination is near. A capital hidden within the forest, a place that was the current residence of the three, was seen before his eyes.

Not willing to waste time the three immediately entered and intended to directly report it to the guild. It is now the middle of the day where today is as crowded as ever. The three walked towards the guild and directly entered, greeting some people they knew and heading straight for the receptionist and intending to directly report the results.

“Anu... Sorry, the guild head is having some business, so please wait a moment.” Said the guild officer with a bad feeling.

“What... If you know this result maybe we will not leave so early.” Hendry said with Disappointment and Audrey felt the same.

“What can be done, we should just wait..” Eliana said.

The three waited patiently in this guild, while ordering food, they had lunch. After they finished eating, the three of them continued to wait at a table by the window. Glasses of drinks and snacks had been spent but there was no news that the guild head was done with his business. They just spend time talking about something that is not important and always talk about the return of Hendry and Eliana to his hometown tomorrow.

Waiting boredly until no sunlight began to enter through the glass window, the day increasingly went up in the afternoon as well as the light around the increasingly yellowing. The previously quiet atmosphere began to change, some adventurers started to enter the guild after returning from finishing their work.

Finally something they had been waiting for arrived, the guild officer came over to them then told the three to go up to the 2nd floor to meet the guild head. They did as they were told and reported this mission as usual until it did not feel like 1 day had passed.

Today Audrey intends to trade, which is why her broomstick containing her cart is parked here. But behind it all there is actually still one other reason why Audrey has stood up and waited at the city gate so early. A little while later Hendry and Eliana began to look and approached Audrey.

“You guys so go today ?”

“Yes, it has been too long we did not go home, so I think this is the right time... All this time we have also sent money and letters, but I think it is not enough.” Said Eliana.

“So yes... Then be careful....”.

“Good..” Say both.

“O yes... This take as a gift, say hello to your parents..” Audrey said as she handed the parcel to Eliana, it is not clear what the contents are but it is thought to be a special meatball made by his hand.

“I'll definitely tell you... thank you very much..”.

“Iya, Same.. You two will come back again right?”

“Surely, our Adventure is still not over.. Because so far we are still at rank C remember Hendry said with a smile while trying to comfort Audrey who they will soon leave.

“Then it's only a few weeks or up to a few months we promise to come back.. Well then Goodbye Audrey..”.

“Iya goodbye, May we meet again..”.

“Definitely... someday..”.

Hendry and Eliana went away from the capital, into the main road in the depths of the forest and prepared for a long journey towards their hometown. Audrey was the same, she immediately left for the square southeast of the capital, precisely used to sell, then she prepared to start ordinary days as before.

Along with the glitter of the morning sunshine they continued to walk towards the future. Among the wind-blown clumps of leaves, they continued to step. No matter how many meetings and partings they go through, they are always together. I don't know what other obstacles stand in the way, they will face.

This farewell is only a temporary one, because the real adventure, will only begin a few moments from now…
