The Unacknowledged Seed

The Unacknowledged Seed
The growing problem

Outside Marco sat in front of the nursery alone thinking about what he had just heard. Slowly it seemed as if his heart was beginning to waver looking at the woman. Especially when he was carrying her, his face looked pale and in pain.

At the same time, Ayunda and her husband arrived at the hospital. He heard the news from Marco. At first they were quite surprised and thought Marco was the cause of Mishel's condition so that. But Marco was telling the truth, he was running early in the morning and saw Mishel pass out. They try not to think negatively and check it first to the hospital.

"That's not our son, Pah?" ask Ayunda while pointing at someone who is sitting down alone.

"That's Marco, let's go there."

They both approached Marco. They saw his son's face which was like a lot of trouble and thought.

"Marco, why are you here? Where is Mishel being treated?" ask Ayunda.

"Well, Dad, you've come." Marco stood up to see his parents coming. "The room's over there, you can see it."

"What's the doctor saying, son, nothing happened to Mishel and the baby, right?"

"They're fine, Mah. The doctor said he was just too tired. It seems like he was exhausted from selling in the park this morning" Marco replied.

"Thank God, you're very worried. Thank you for taking him to the hospital on time. Then you'll see Mishel's situation first." Ayunda bailed in to see the state of Mishel. Leaving Marco and Gerry alone, the father and son were silent for a while until Ayunda was lost to the door.

"Did you deliberately go running in the morning to see Mishel?" ask Gerry.

"Bah, he fainted not because of me. Is papah suspicious of me?" Marco was astonished.

"Father is not blaming you, papah wants to ask what you have seen. Did you see him working hard? What do you think, she's different from the woman you used to be with, right?" ask Gerry.

"Try you know him better, you will know more about his personality" Gerry said.

"It's not too late, Dad. She's about to give birth soon and I'm just gonna understand her now. It's not too late" said Marco regretfully.

"No word too late. You won't know before you try. Mishel, he has a very good heart. Papah's sure he'll give you a chance."

"What if it doesn't? Am I gonna lose them?" What Marco means is Mishel and the child in his womb.

"Are you now afraid of losing them, what does it mean that you no longer doubt the child?"

"Come on, Pah, it's just that I touched her stomach like there was a raging feeling in my heart. I tried to dodge but the feeling got stronger especially when I felt a small movement there, my heart suddenly thumped." Marco was indeed holding Mishel's stomach while he was waiting for the woman earlier. At first he was just curious, finally after venturing out he placed his palm on top of Mishel's stomach.

Gerry smiled at the son. "It looks like the boy is trying to show that his existence exists. He's your son. After he is born, Papah believes your feelings will be even stranger, will not be able to be described with words. What it's like to see our fleshly blood born into the world. You'll feel it later. Come in first, do you want to go inside?"

"Father first" said Marco.

"Alright, use the opportunity as best you can. Do not let you regret after they can no longer reach you. Imagine what if Mishel met a man who loved her and accepted her condition and her child. Are you sure you can accept that? Papah and Mamah will not be able to prevent Mishel from finding a good man who loves her because she also deserves to be happy. Because you can't make her happy. Think of it."

Marco imagines it, as if seeing Mishel living happily with a man and his son calling the man papah.

"Shyit!! Why does it feel to upset me." He kicked a garbage can in front of him to sound and everyone who happened to pass by saw him.
