I'm Ready to Get Married

“How did you get back so soon, Jessica?” ask Dave after Alana's departure.

Jessica gasps. “What's up Dave? I came back of course because I missed you.” He answered as he approached Dave. However, the man immediately shuffled to sit on the sofa. Makes Jessica tick.

“You said your contract is still five months away. Why did you suddenly come home sooner?” ask Dave.

“I saw your story on television about the Surabaya incident, Dave. Suddenly I feel so missed you. I finally decided to complete all my contracts there. So, I can come back sooner.”

“Then?”

“Yes I'm back with my finished work. You must be happy to hear that? Now I'm ready to get married. Dave let's plan our wedding,” Jessica said sparkling happily.

Dave looked at the woman in wonder. “I'm so tired Jessica. Go home, I want to rest. And also my recent work piled up!”

Jessica was surprised, seeing Dave not as enthusiastic as before. “You kicked me out Dave. I just arrived?”

“As far as you are, I want to sleep!” Dave just left Jessica who looked furious. Though he thought Dave would be happy with his arrival.

Dave stared at the tightly shut door of Alana's room. There was a sense of wanting to knock on that door, asking her how she was. About that, Dave had seen the woman's face paled. But, he was worried that the knock later would actually disturb the woman's rest.

The afternoon when the evening starts to say hello. Alana opened her eyes. His head was a little dizzy, considering he was crying to sleep. Seeing the clouds begin to change color. Alana immediately cleaned herself up. He even passed his lunch.

After cleaning up and changing clothes. Alana took out the souvenirs she brought from Surabaya. He intended to share it that afternoon as well. Usually at that hour, the servants were gathering to prepare dinner.

He glanced at Dave's door as he walked out of his room. His door was tightly closed, his chest rustling in memory of today's events. A surprise he did not expect. Alana thinks Jessica will be home once her second marriage contract is over. However, he did not think he would return sooner. There are three months left for him and Dave to complete the deal.

“Taraa... I brought a lot of food and stuff,” Alana said as soon as she arrived in the kitchen, approaching the waiters and chefs who were preparing the dinner menu.

They approached Alana. “Wahh so many Miss. This is for all of us,” exciting Salma.

Alana nodded. “Iya. Please split flat yes.”

“Nona, we are sorry for the incident that happened to you in Surabaya,” said one of the other servants.

“If only we had a plane of course we would fly directly to see Miss.” They crimp each other.

Alana sat on the chair, staring at them one by one. Then he said, “If you have a plane where you might want to work here. And join me.”

“True yes.”

“Of course. Why do you think I am? I'm already healthy.”

“Indeed. But, your heart is wounded.”

Alana was flabbergasted to hear it, choosing to move on. “Please make me instant noodles yes. Love a lot of chilli, then deliver to the side terrace. I want to read the book.”

“But Miss. Mr. Dave forbid us to cook you instant noodles. Moreover, you are sick,” exclaimed other servants.

“Please. I'm very keen again. Dave won't know, he's been engrossed himself. Anyway I wait.”

Alana passed out of the kitchen with quick footsteps. Until his body hit something hard, make his body look good.

“Dave?” hisses. He almost fell if Dave did not hold his body.

“Why are you running?” ask Dave wonder.

“I want to go to Dave's side terrace,” he replied after releasing Dave's hand. He stared at Dave who looked neat that afternoon. “Where are you going?”

“To outside briefly. You want to come?” bargained for.

Alana shook her head, because she thought Dave was going out to see Jessica.

“Or take something?” continued again.

“No Dave. Just go, have fun,” he said.

Dave chuckled softly, rubbing Alana's hair. Then said, “don't forget to eat ya.”

Simple, yet capable of heart-shaking. How Alana didn't fall for a nice, warm guy like herself. Can Alana dream of having the man.

Some parts may be a bit upset about Dave's attitude. But, believe me I created the character is not perfect, there must be a side to the shortcomings. Just like us as humans.😁😁
