Slowly, Dave stepped towards his wife's dresser. Dave picks up the ring he once pinned on Alana's ring finger.
“This ring.” Dave remembers where he said he recognized Alana as his wife at the grand reunion of his wife's campus. For a moment, his hands shook. He saw a sheet of black inked paper on top of a pile of documents.
Dave picked it up, and took it to the bed that looked like it was a mess. Slowly he tried to read word for word written there.
^^^For you Dave.^^^
Good morning, my husband. ^^^
^^^How did you sleep last night, it must have been good, right?^^^
^^^Dave, as you read this letter. I must have gone far from you. But, before that. Can I say. Happy wedding anniversary to one year. Sounds stupid, right? Why to say a wedding anniversary. We will not be separated today. Maybe I should say good-bye.^^^
^^^I'm sorry, I left without saying goodbye, you slept too well. But, Dave our story is over. I managed to keep my promise, completing our marriage contract for one year. ^^^
...Dave, I want to say thank you. Thanks to you, my mother is now healed. We're gonna start a new life. So too with you huh. After this you can start planning your wedding with Jessica. ...
^^^Dave, I returned some of your documents. I don't feel like I need that. I've had everything with you, including my mother's recovery. But, I brought some of your jewelry. May it? I hope you let it go. ^^^
^^^Oh yes, one more. I've prepared our divorce papers. Take it easy, you don't have to bother looking for me. In the divorce papers, I signed my signature. I will not come during the divorce proceedings. To make everything run smoothly. ^^^
...Once again, thank you for all the wonderful memories you gave me Dave. ...
^^^Salam^^
^^Alana Jovanka^^^
Dave rubbed the corner of his wet eyes, while reading the arrangement of words that Alana wrote there. He opened some documents that Alana prepared. There is a home certificate, a car BPKB, a black card that Dave once gave. And another one that surprised him, divorce documents. Alana had even prepared in detail. The data is all so complete.
”You prepare all up to this detail, Alana.” Dave has hiss picking up the divorce papers. “And you think I'll divorce you?”
Dave crumpled up the divorce papers, tore them up, and then threw them away. “After you have taken my whole heart, you leave me, Alana.”
Dave touched his chest that felt so painful. Shortness, not because he has a history of heart disease. It was just that he felt half his soul disappear. He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to control his feelings.
“Master? You turned out here?” zain's reprimand from the doorway made him turn his head. It just so happened that his bedroom door didn't close.
Zain circulated his gaze into the room, looking messy. He was a little surprised, especially when he saw some paper shreds on the floor. “Master, what happened?” ask again.
”Alana go, Zain.”
Zain was surprised to hear that. “Go?” he said he didn't believe.
“Is it because Miss was angry about last night?” ask Zain.
Dave rubbed his face. “I don't know. Alana did not write about it in her letter. And he actually left the filing document for divorce.”
“Master, isn't that what should happen? The wedding contract is done, right?” ask Zain carefully.
Dave stared straight at Zain without a sound.
“Master, do you love him too?” ask again.
Dave nodded slowly, pressing against his chest that was hurting. The corner of his eye heated up, until unconscious clear liquid came out of his eye fertilizer. It felt like he had not cried for a long time, the last time the Surabaya tragedy that befell Alana at that time. Good Lord! How foolish he would have been, if he had ever since placed his heart on his wife. Why is it that he only realized it now.
“Why does someone feel so meaningful. After he left us yes, Zain.”
Zain was silent looking at the top who looked chaotic with concern. ”Tuan.”
”Please find info about Alana. Bring him back Zain. I really can't lose him. I will do anything, as long as he wants to come back.”
