Ep.39 - Self-aware

“Where are you, mas?”

“I'm in the hospital.”

“Who is sick? You sick?”

“If I get sick, I can't pick up your phone. I won't worry you, baby.”

It took a split second for Jonathan to answer. “Friends.” replied Jonathan, he smiled knot. “My friend is sick and he has to be treated here last night. He has no one else, so I'll keep him here.”

Edelweis could hear clearly what Jonathan and Renata were talking about through the phone call. He wasn't really sleeping, he just closed his eyes as if sleeping on his back to Jonathan sitting on the sofa. Edelweis woke up in the middle of the night, he could not break his eyes and fell asleep just like that when he knew where he was. He stared at the ceiling of the room, a flash of mass memoryall of it spinning in his mind.

That silent night instantly turned into a daze. The smile that was still imprinted was clear just a moment ago when recalling the pleasant holiday they had planned, turned into a heartache. Tears could not stop flowing down her cheeks.

“It's a dream right? This isn't real, is it, aunt? Mami and Papi can't die, right?” Edelweis looked at Emmeline with teary eyes, her lips trying to smile to make sure everything was okay. “They're still in the hospital right, auntie? Yes, right?”

Edelweis fast moving, “Iya. Mami and Papi are still in the hospital, surely they are still being treated by a doctor, I'm sure it's.” Edelweis smiled, “Come, our aunt to the hospital now!”

“Edel..”.

Emmeline couldn't hold back her crying anymore.

Unfeeling, tears flowed as those painful flashes turned back in his mind. Edelweis closed his eyes, trying to shake off all those painful memories.

“I'm scared of the hospital. Because every time I go to the hospital I remember you. Remember where the last day I can't see you guys forever.”

Without realizing it, there was Jonathan who accidentally heard the muttering of Edelweis. Just this time, he saw the woman was so fragile. Now he knows little about the reason Edelweis never went to the hospital.

“You're coming home, right? Come!”

Edelweis turned his head for a moment, surprised by Jonathan's sudden arrival. When he woke up, the man was not in his room. However, now it suddenly appeared and said so.

Edelweis turned to Jonathan beside him who was focusing on driving. It was incessant since he admired the man. Edelweis immediately opened the car door, he had rushed to the meatball seller. He hurriedly ordered two portions of his meatballs, for him as well as Jonathan.

Meanwhile, in the car Jonathan intends to park his car. However, the ringing of his cell phone made him undo the intention. And, what he had just heard instantly made him speechless, anxiety was immediately felt. Without thinking or remembering Edelweis, Jonathan immediately drove his car away from this place.

While Edelweis, he thought Jonathan would park the car and follow him. Jonathan drove his car away. Reawaken Edelweis back if what Jonathan said is true.

He himself, has no one. And, maybe worthless.
