Chapter 63 We Are Different

The weekend has passed. On this beautiful Monday, the company led by Dery suddenly had an uproar. Due to rumors of Dery getting divorce papers from Tiara and also the arrest of Niken as his second wife has been widely circulated. Plus, the issue of the Bagaskara family having sold five percent of its shares to Tiara, until now the woman became the largest shareholder in the company.

It turns out that while Liora and the others were camping yesterday, she also planned to spread all the information about the destruction of the Dery household through social media. Liora makes use of her past memories, to contact one of the hackers she is very familiar with, in addition to the gangster members she now cannot contact at all. Liora asked for help to spread the news and hold it for at least a week.

It turned out that the plan was going smoothly, now all shareholders and elites of the company owned by his parents were panicking, because of the chaos that occurred to Dery that affected the company. Liora smiled when she heard that the biggest shareholders were holding a secret meeting at one of the restaurants.

"Now, let's meet them again" Liora said as she looked at Charly sitting in front of her. Currently, they were in one of the Cafe which was not far from the Star school.

Charly nodded, they got out of the place and got into Charly's car.

"Why didn't you tell me first about this plan? I thought we were a team?" charly asked as he started driving his car towards the highway.

Liora looked at Charly's face which still looked flat. I don't know what the man is feeling now? Liora was made to wonder.

"I just don't want to get too involved with you and your partner in my personal matters. You came here not to help me, but to arrest Dery and his boss. Let this be my business now. You are focused enough to catch Dery and his boss" Liora replied at length.

"Can't! From the beginning we've been doing this together, how could it be that now all of a sudden you want us to split up?!" Charly seemed to disagree with Liora's remark, his forehead appearing to be furrowed deeply with a completely unfriendly tone of voice. The man clearly looks angry.

Liora was surprised by Charly's reaction which looked very upset, but usually the man always seemed calm.

"Hey, I just want you to focus on catching Dery and his boss right away, so that all this trouble ends soon–"

"Then we split up?!" charly asked with a face he didn't like. The man even stopped his car on the side of the road.

Liora who had been willing to explain well was now made speechless by Charly's overreaction.

"B–that's not what I mean." Liora shook her head softly with eyes that blinked a few times.

"Tia–" Charly stopped his speech then shook his head faintly as if he had mispronounced.

"Liora, don't you like us meeting again? Do you want to get away from me?" ask Charly who is starting to be unable to control his emotions.

"I don't want to, Liora! I want us to stay together." Charly held onto Liora's hand with a look that changed expectantly.

Liora was made sculpted by Charly's attitude which was so shocking.

"Liora, is it still impossible for us to be together?" ask Charly later. If they used to be enemies and it was impossible to unite, but now wasn't Liora no longer what she used to be.

Liora blinked a few times, she tried to regain her consciousness from the shock from Charly's words.

"Charly, do you understand the meaning of your words?"

"We're different, Charly. You're a law enforcer fighting crime, while I'm one of the targets of your mission" Liora said, trying to resuscitate Charly in error.

"You and I are like the moon and the stars, we will never merge even if we look so close. I'm still Liora the beautiful gangster in California, even though my body is different now" Liora continued.

Charly shook his head, he disagreed with what Liora said.

"There must be one way, Liora. I'm sure we can find that way, just as long as we're together. I love you, Liora, " said Charly trying to convince Liora. He was no longer willing to lose Liora a second time.

"I won't make you betray your own work, Charly. So, it's better to finish this mission soon, and we're here. Let alone thinking of love, I don't even know my fate in the future." Liora muttered softly at the end of her sentence.

"No one knows his own fate, Liora! So do I!" charly replied as he returned to his car. The man looked silent with a gaze that seemed to focus on the streets, he no longer paid attention to Liora at all, until without feeling, they had already reached the restaurant he was heading to.

"Come, let's get this over with quickly. I'm gonna get out of here, after making sure your life here is okay" Charly said before they got out of the car.

Liora was speechless with her mouth locked, she was surprised to see the disappointed full gaze of the man beside her. Liora's eyes followed Charly's movement down from the car first, without saying anything more.

"Sorry," Liora muttered, with a sudden sense of guilt enveloping her heart.

They walked together into the restaurant, both down the corridor leading to the VIP room that one of the shareholders had booked for the meeting that afternoon. Don't ask Liora and Charly where they know about the room, they have their own way of knowing the movements of the people around Dery.

Meanwhile, in the room with the theme of the Japanese restaurant, there were several middle-aged men who were greeting and praising each other with their fake faces.

"How's this? It seems that Dery can no longer rely on us to take care of the company" said one of them.

"Yes, the news in circulation makes the company's stock price drop dramatically. Look, even Mr. Bagaskara has sold five percent of his shares." A middle-aged man in an old gray suit looks chimed in.

"I didn't expect it, it turned out that Dery was a jerk! He couldn't even keep his self-image in the eyes of the public." The middle-aged man with white hair was heard complaining.

"We must immediately find a replacement for Dery, so that the company is not too long in a state of crisis!" A man who looked quite young compared to the others seemed to be speaking in a more relaxed tone.

"Yes, right! We have to come up with a name for a CEO replacement candidate in the company, someone who will take our side." Everyone in the room nodded in agreement with the white-haired man.

However, their meeting was suddenly interrupted when the door opened and showed Liora and Charly just walking in and now standing in front of them.

"Good day, everybody. Can we join you?" liora said with a meaningful smile.

Everyone who was there looked at each other with shocked faces at Liora's sudden presence.
