Chapter 22. Awkward

"Wamma! Are you conscious?"

Kala's voice continues to sound until it makes Aruna's eyes that were originally closed—kini slowly open. Her eyelids squinted to adjust the incoming light passing through her retina. The first sight that Aruna saw was a white room with the aroma of drugs that were so stinging entered his sense of smell.

"You don't remember?" Kala asked back which made Aruna open her eyes again to look at her husband's face. Then, his memory of the thing that was so painful for him was instantly ringing in his head. "Mas! Our son!" pekik Aruna immediately remembered that his son's life was in danger. He felt his stomach and hoped that the incident was just a dream. However, it was soon proven when Aruna felt if her stomach that had originally been bulging now flat—unlike people who were pregnant.

"Mas! Where is our son?!" aruna asked again, starting to panic. He awoke to look intently at his stomach, but what he found was the same, flat. For a moment, Aruna seemed to have forgotten how to breathe properly. His heart also seemed to stop beating, then the speed of his tears immediately flowed into the river.

"Mas.." said Aruna softly because he felt the tightness that now is like squeezing his chest cavity. The figure who claimed Umm Sibyan had managed to bring his son.

Kala who saw how hit Aruna was immediately hugged the Wife to calm down. As sad as Aruna felt, Kala felt the same way because her flesh blood was gone. However, there are things that make everything feel awkward and according to doctors it does not make sense.

After seeing Aruna who was calmer, Kala also framed the two faces of Aruna and then kissed his wife's forehead with tenderness. "You calm down, huh? Everything will be fine" said Kala who did not get any response from Aruna.

However, Aruna will not stay silent about the incident that happened to her. He's gonna find someone who's been stealing his foetus this way. Aruna is not willing and will demand revenge for the actions of that person.

One week after the bad incident, Aruna's body has recovered. She decided to stay with Kala's parents so that someone would accompany her while her husband was away at work. During that one week, Aruna had not told Kala or her parents the truth. He was still too shocked and tried to rearrange his thoughts. He will also make plans to take his son back. It is not too late and Aruna believes that the power of prayer is very strong.

"Assalamu'alaikum," a voice coming from the front also made Aruna's daydream flinch. He looked towards the entrance and found Sinta standing in the doorway.

"Waalaikumsalam" replied Bu Rindi, who was Aruna's mother-in-law.

"Come in, Sin," greeted Aruna and invited Sinta to sit down. Aruna continued to pay attention to the movements of Sinta who since her arrival always stroked her stomach. In fact, Aruna can see if the stomach looks bloated and so different from Sinta who met a few weeks ago.

"Why are you daydreaming?" sinta asked with a smile so sweet that Aruna only returned with a thin smile.

"I'm sorry Aruna, Sinta. He is indeed thinking a lot," replied Bu Rindi who made Aruna nod justifying her mother-in-law's words. Aruna got up from her seat and intended to get a snack for Sinta, but Bu Rindi immediately prevented her and said. "Let Mother take it. You just sit down."

Aruna complied and let her Mother-in-law take her place. After the departure of Bu Rindi, Sinta also offered an invitation to Aruna which made Aruna immediately link her eyebrows feeling confused. "I know maybe you're still so devastated right now. However, I want you to come on my four-monthly pregnancy show. I want you to also feel the happiness that I am feeling," said Sinta like not thinking first before saying his intention.

Aruna accepted the invitation and read the contents of it. It makes Aruna's forehead now frown deeper because Sinta's four-monthly event was too sudden. "When did you get pregnant? How do I not know?" aruna asked directly to the point.

Sinta smiled so happily as both her hands moved to stroke the abdomen. "Taken four months ago. Actually, I haven't seen my monthly guests in a long time. I also hid it from Mas Bowo because I was too traumatized every time I arrived late and checked with the doctor, the result was nothing in my womb. I'm not pregnant yet. However, I was suspicious because it had not come four months. Finally, I checked the doctor and the result, I was really pregnant," Sinta said enthusiastically when telling the life story of her essay.

"Couldn't you? Strange," replied Aruna because after all, she had already been pregnant and knew what it was like to have a difference between a pregnant person and a non-pregnant person.

Aruna nodded so that Sinta would pass. For some reason, she felt the strangeness of Sinta's pregnancy that was too sudden and that made Aruna feel uncomfortable again was, Sinta's attitude that acted as if she did not know anything about her pregnancy. He also seemed unable to keep his feelings.
