Empty Clock in School

A beautiful morning in Jakarta. The sun was shining brightly, the birds were chirping and the breeze that hit the trees was adding to its senses. During this time people always know Jakarta as a city that is jammed and a lot of pollution. Though the sound of clear water flowing and the cool air in the morning we can still feel.

Jeff was getting ready to go to school, he started taking out his favorite motorcycle and yelling farewell to his brother. Already used to it, his brother was used to still hiding behind a blanket when the sister wanted to go to school.

"Relse ... Jeff went to school first." Shouts Jeff.

Her brother who was still covered in thick air conditioning room answered her sister's scream. No less loud until anyone who hears it will immediately close their ears. No exception Jeff, his only puppet sister.

"Yes ... Jeff!" reply Chika from inside her room.

That made Chika unable to continue her sleep, she then flipped the blanket over and began to sit on her mattress. Looking for a mobile phone and began to check the incoming messages, of the many messages he hoped to find incoming messages from Kevin, his best friend. However, apparently nothing, Kevin did not leave a message for her at all.

"Kevin is completely insensitive, why every day should I start greeting him first. Friends have also been many years, the age is also 24 years. Didn't he think of me at all, ask to get married that."

"This is all because of Nirmala, that snot boy should not have been born into this world. Ever since there was him, Kevin has always been more concerned with her. Not like she used to spend all day with me."

Chika started to get out of her bed, she looked for the towel that was still on the clothesline. He grabbed the towel and put it on his shoulder, looking very lazy but he had to force himself to take a bath. After the shower, he rushed down to the dining room. The house assistant prepared breakfast. He started to enjoy his breakfast and closed with a glass of water.

After breakfast he went to get a taxi, no taxi passed. Once someone passed by, the taxi would not stop even though Chika had tried to stop him.

"Taxi is arrogant, doesn't need money." Grunts Chika.

He was still waiting and hoping there would still be a taxi passing by. Chika has to go to her office. Chika is the chief director of her parents' company. His parents live abroad so he has to take care of the company. Actually Chika does not like her profession that much, therefore she is rarely in her office and prefers shopping or sightseeing. He had always hoped Jeff would quickly grow up and be able to occupy the position he was now in.

Chika who was getting upset because she never got a taxi finally walked slowly back to her house. There was a car at the house, but Chika was lazy if she had to drive her own car.

"I should've told Jeff to just take the car and drive me to the office." Her words are slow

Chika kept walking towards her house. Suddenly a car sounded like it was approaching him and sounded a horn.

Tet ... Tet ...

Chika was shocked and looked back. He noticed a car that stopped behind him.

"Like Kevin's car." Said Chika.

Chika then went back to the car and sure enough, it was Kevin.

"Kevin," said Chika who looked very happy to see the person she was thinking about this morning.

"Where are you going, Chik?" Ask Kevin.

"You go to the office, but I'm waiting for a taxi no one's passing by, so I want to go back home to bring my own car." Said Chika.

"Take it with yuk, go up." Said Kevin.

"Seriously?" Chika still can't believe Kevin wants to drive her to the office while Kevin's own office is in the opposite direction.

"But you'll be in his office so late." Said Chika again.

"You don't have to think about it, I don't have a job anymore. Relax again." Said Kevin.

As Chika looks happy, she starts to get into the car and sits next to Kevin. She looks shy like never before.

"You why Chik? Your face is like we just knew." Said Kevin who saw Chika's face looking shy.

Kevin starts driving back, looking for a way to turn back to Chika's office. Along the way Chika keeps looking at Kevin, while Kevin focuses on driving forward. Unlike when Kevin was in the car with Nirmala, Kevin will focus more on looking at Nirmala rather than driving his car.

The journey to Chika's office is quite far, it takes 1 hour and 15 minutes if traffic conditions are smooth. But if it gets stuck, it can take hours, can be up to 3 hours drive. But as the main director, there was nothing for Chika to worry about if being late every day would not be a problem.

Elsewhere, at Nirmala's school. The students started getting into their classes. Today the subjects in Nirmala's class were empty. They cheered, they liked the empty hours more than studying. Whereas by learning will increase their knowledge, whereas if the clock is empty they only play around even though the teacher will give them a task.

"Quiet ... Relax ... Children listen to Mother, you are empty today because we teachers will hold meetings until noon."

"So you learn by yourself and work on the questions in the student worksheet starting from pages 46-52, do it and it should not be crowded. You understand?" Said the teacher.

"Understand me, Mom." They answered simultaneously.

"Well if you can understand, I'll stay first. Tirta, help you take care of your class." Message from the teacher again.

"Ready Ma'am." Answer Tirta.

Just a few steps Mother teacher out of the classroom, they have started to crowded. Only a few people follow the advice of the teacher by learning and working on problems.

Jeff starts to act and annoys Nirmala who is focused on doing her job. Suddenly Jeff whispered in Nirmala's ear.

"Juliet, do my job too." Jeff said he mocked Nirmala as Juliet while giving a student worksheet to Nirmala.

Tirta came and warned Jeff not to disturb students who are concentrating on learning. Tirta also took Jeff's student worksheet and put it back on Jeff's bench.

"You don't understand pleasure, do you?" Jeff told Tirta.

Tirta just kept quiet and went back to work on the problems given by the teacher. Suddenly Anah turned her back towards Jeff. Anah sat in front of Tirta, while Jeff was next to him again, next to Tirta.

"Give me Jeff, let me do it." Said Anah while giving a smile to Jeff.

"No need, I can do it myself." Said Jeff.

"If there is something you do not understand, do not hesitate. Just ask me, Jeff." Said Anah again.

Jeff just silently pretended not to hear and pretended to focus on doing those things. The atmosphere of the classroom that was crowded suddenly quiet. All students seem to be doing their own work. But it was only for a moment, not long before the class became crowded again. They prefer to talk and talk about things outside of the topic of study. Some talk about movies, some talk about the success of their parents and not a few talk about birthday parties.

Suddenly a student asked for attention.

"Friends ... Friends ... Later tonight comes yes to my birthday pasta, must come everything yes." Said a female student.

"All may attend, except Nirmala." Salsa said in a half-mockery tone.

"Without exception, Nirmala may also be present. I'm good." Said the female student.

Salsa was very upset that the boy defended Nirmala more than he did.

"It's Salsa, you can't be like that." Ruby said she was trying to advise her friend.

"You're Ruby, you're my friend or that maid's friend?" Salsa said in a tone still holding back anger.

The class began to quiet again, not long after which the bell rang. A sign of rest, they start scattering out. Meanwhile, Nirmala prefers to continue her duties of filling out student worksheets.
