The school sign bell rings. The most awaited sign for school children. Going home from school is a very special time. As an exemplary student at his school, Nirmala always comes home on time. Most if he stopped by, he'd stop by Kevin's office. But today is a little different, Nirmala wants to stop by a bookstore not far from school.
Just buy a book and go home. Anah invites her away too but that's after school and usually Anah takes a long time to dress up, so it's okay to stop by the bookstore first.
He didn't invite anyone to go there. Alone walking in the hot sun, without him noticing a student who was looking for his motorbike in the parking lot staring at him from a distance.
"Where is Nirmala going? Shouldn't he be heading north? Why is he walking south." Think Jeff's starting to find the bike.
He immediately took out the bike and chased after Nirmala. He slowly followed from a distance away so that Nirmala would not feel being followed.
He went into the bookstore.
Jeff followed to the bookstore, he parked his bike right in front of the store. As soon as the parking deal was over, he chased Nirmala inside. Still following silently and yet dared to show a face in front of Nirmala. Until Nirmala saw his whereabouts.
"Jeff, looking for a book too?" Ask Nirmala.
"You know it." Jeff said, pretending to be looking for a book.
"Well, I'm going to the cashier first, okay?" Nirmala
"Jeez, cashier?that fast?" Jeff said in his heart.
Jeff hurriedly searched for books, any books. And he picked up a novel, but it was accidentally. Soon Jeff was queuing at the cashier. He stood right behind Nirmala, without a word pretending to be indifferent even though in his heart he was eager to invite communication. Nirmala occasionally turned to look at him.
"What wiry? I'm very handsome, aren't I?" Jeff praised himself.
"Ngaco you." Nirmala.
When Nirmala's turn to pay, suddenly Jeff was disrespectful. He said that he would pay for Nirmala's groceries, so he just put the payment together.
"No need for Jeff."
"It's okay Juliet." Jeff started messing up again.
"No, I can pay for it myself" said Nirmala.
Debate Jeff and Nirmala in front of the cashier was clearly making the people in line behind him feel disturbed and it also made the work of the cashier so hampered.
"Sorry brother, please move to the cashier next door." Said the cashier's shopkeeper.
Nirmala starts to get annoyed with Jeff's attitude.
Every time I see him, there is something unpleasant.
Nirmala walked in looking for another cashier. He threatened Jeff not to follow him again.
"You go to the cashier over there, I'm here." Nirmala.
"OK-okay." Jeff said as he raised both his hands and stepped away towards the other cashier.
Nirmala's done paying, and so is Jeff.
"Juliet, wait a minute." Jeff said as he ran after Nirmala.
"Stop calling me Juliet because you're not Romeo."
"Oh yeah okay, so who's the Romeo? Is that a land crocodile? What's-her-name? Kevin, it's Kevin." Said Jeff.
Nirmala was silent.
It did not feel like they were walking from inside the store to the highway. Jeff kept talking, even though he looked very indifferent before. But Nirmala began to remain silent and did not respond. Nirmala's been standing on the side of the highway, trying to stop a taxi and can. A taxi stopped right next to him. Nirmala got into the taxi and Jeff couldn't stop her.
Nirmala sat in the car looking at the right and left sides of the road, looking heavy but smooth traffic. There was no traffic jam.
Jeff was so weird, he always bothered me. Sometimes it's cold, sometimes it talks a lot. Sometimes he's soft and sometimes he's very rude. Ah ... why do I think about it.
Not long after that, he arrived in front of his house. It turns out Jeff had arrived at his home and was sitting on a motorcycle.
After paying the taxi, Nirmala approached Jeff.
"What do you need?" Ask Nirmala.
"You go in first, have lunch and change, I'll wait here." Jeff said something very confidently without explaining the intent of his arrival.
"Of course I'll go in, but maybe I won't have lunch at home." Nirmala.
Jeff was a little confused to hear Nirmala's reply.
"What do you need to do here?" Nirmala repeated her question.
"Oh, then sorry I went in first." Nirmala said as she put her foot into the house.
This afternoon Nirmala did not have lunch at home because before returning to school, she had plans to go with Anah to find a gift for her friend's birthday. Anah wants to take her to lunch somewhere before starting her card search. Jeff is still outside the fence of Nirmala's house. He had no idea that Nirmala was going somewhere to meet Anah.
A few minutes later, Nirmala had changed. Looks simple but still very beautiful with purple colored bando in her hair.
"Jeff." Nirmala surprised Jeff who was engrossed in playing mobile phones on the motorbike.
"You ready? It turns out that without me even talking you already know what I mean here." Jeff said confidently.
"You if you talk always ngaco, I promise you with your future wife." Nirmala started teasing Jeff with a half-laughing mimic.
"Huh?Wife-to-be? Wherever possible, he's not my type." Said Jeff.
"Alright, since it's already over, let me take you to the location." Said Jeff
They then took a motorcycle to the location, Anah invited her meeting in a shopping center. Arriving there, Nirmala and Jeff walk together towards the food court, in accordance with the initial agreement with Anah.
"It's been 30 minutes but Anah still hasn't been seen either." Nirmala.
"Try me to call." Said Jeff.
Nirmala tries to contact Anah, connected but there is no answer. Repeatedly tried but the result is the same, there is no answer. Nirmala then tried to write a short message, but before Nirmala typed the message, Anah had already sent the message even 30 minutes before. Nirmala did not realize that her best friend was sending a message.
Nirmala, I'm sorry I didn't go out today because I got a stomachache, I think I ate the wrong thing. Sorry yes
As soon as the message sent by Anah.
"What's wrong?" Ask Jeff curiously.
"Well, it didn't come." Answer Nirmala.
"That's good." Mumbled Jeff.
"Don't worry, I'll accompany you to find a gift, but first we eat." Said Jeff.
They then ordered fried chicken and corn soup. They start eating together, and Jeff occasionally looks up at Nirmala. After the meal, they took a leisurely walk towards the gift shop.
"Nirmala, may I ask you something?" Ask Jeff.
"Ask me." Answer Nirmala briefly.
"Do you think that teenagers our age fall in love is natural?" Ask Jeff.
"It's natural."
"But the future is long, it's long. Can you express love?"
"Of course I can." Answer Nirmala.
"When I refuse how?"
"Yes accepted, I mean if rejected yes it's okay, no problem."
"What do you think love is?" Ask Jeff.
"Love is the most beautiful gift that includes all kindness and affection, will always give, pay attention, love, not irritability, and not force, as Kevin once told me." Nirmala.
"The crocodile's man again."Jeff murmured again.
Nirmala stopped her steps.
"If you love someone, you must be able to take care of their heart and feelings." Nirmala said again as she pointed towards Jeff's heart.
"That's what Kevin said." Nirmala added.
Gosh, a land crocodile can say such a thing, he's got a lot of women. How could he possibly keep the feelings of the person he loved. Very bragging.
Suddenly Jeff was still fixated and just sitting in the gift shop, while Nirmala went around looking for a gift that fit into his friend's gift. Jeff felt his heart beating very fast and the flow of blood he felt very fast. He began to question himself who sometimes likes to be angry erratically. While his anger was according to him because he loved Nirmala. He doesn't like it if Nirmala gets too close to Kevin.
But Nirmala said, love should not be angry. What is my feeling then? I'm angry because I'm jealous, isn't jealousy a sign of love? I'm getting less and less clueless. Love is hard to understand. Or maybe it's because my age isn't enough to understand it?
Jeff was still silent and pensive, while Nirmala had found a gift for her classmate and rushed home. Nirmala began to look at Jeff who had been confused and invited him to go home together.
"Before we go home, how about we go to Anah's house." Nirmala told Jeff.
