Hamzah looks at the clock on the phone screen. Then he sighed while glancing towards Alifa who still chose snacks between the minimarket shelves.
Alifa did deliberately linger buying snacks even though in her hands the shopping cart was full of food.
"Fa, is it done yet? I'm in a hurry."
Alifa clucked while glancing coldly at Hamzah. "Patience, dong. It's also over soon."
After feeling enough, Alifa also paid her groceries to the cashier. Then, the two of them rushed on a motorcycle splitting the road in the middle of the morning traffic jam.
As much as possible Hamzah accelerate the speed of his motorbike. Making Alifa who was piggybacking behind felt horrified and reflexes tightly hugged Hamzah's stomach.
Before long, Hamzah and Alifa were in an office. Hamzah took off his helmet and so did Alifa.
"Are you sure you want to work in this place?" alifa asked as she looked at the office building before her with a mocking look. "Still mending work at my Papa's company."
Hamzah did not comment on Alifa's remarks because he himself was busy tidying up his shirt.
Hamzah asked, "Would you wait here or come inside?"
Alifa thought for a moment. Then he said, "I'll come along."
So Hamzah entered the office accompanied by Alfah. Just past the entrance, they accidentally met with Nindi who was in the lobby.
"Hamza?" greet Nindi with a fluffy smile.
Nindi's eyes immediately sparkled when she saw Hamzah. Until Nindi did not realize there was Alifa who was beside the man.
"Sorry, Nin. I came late" said Hamzah, bowing his head.
"Nothing," Nindi replied still with an intense gaze on Hamzah. Suddenly, Nindi said to Hamzah's surprise, "You went straight to work today huh?"
"Today, Nin? But..."
"But what?" Nindi said cut out Hamzah's speech. "I've known you since we were in the village. I believe you're an honest, trustworthy and intelligent man, Za."
Hamzah scratched his non-itchy head. Then he glanced at Alifa who had been watching Nindi ever since.
"But I have to ban my wife first, Nin," Hamzah pointed at Alifa.
Then Nindi turned her head in the direction pointed by Hamzah. Nindi also looked so surprised when Hamzah mentioned the word wife to a young woman near Hamzah.
Nindi's eyeballs are perfectly rounded while examining Alifa from overhead to underfoot.
Nindi still does not believe the woman who wears a short shirt and long toen pants is the wife of Hamzah.
However, circumstances forced Nindi to accept it all. Especially when Alifa reached out to introduce herself.
"Include me, I'm Alifa, his wife Hamzah" said Alifa with a slight emphasis on the word 'wife'.
Soon Nindi changed her facial expression. He tried his best to remain calm and returned Alifa's hand.
"I'm Nindi, Hamzah's friend."
Then Nindi throws a glance at Hamzah with a forced-looking smile.
"Sorry, Nin. Our marriage was so sudden, so I didn't invite a lot of people."
Nindi slowly glanced at Alifa with a strange look. "Suddenly yes? You guys aren't playing serong, are you? Sampe had to get married suddenly."
Hearing that remark, Alifa immediately glared her eyes. Of course, Alifa rose apitam because of the words of Nindi, impressed accusing Alifa and Hamzah had played serong so they married in a sudden way.
However, unlike Alfah, Hamzah laughed. The man looked relaxed in response to Nindi's words.
"No, Nin. We married because we were arranged." Then Hamzah tried to change the subject by asking, "Oh yes, so how? I can anter my wife first, can't I, Nin?"
Nindi. "Yes, can. But not for long?"
"Wait a minute!" alifa interrupted Hamzah and Nindi's conversation. "If you may know, what does Hamzah work for?"
"He will be placed as my personal assistant" replied Nindi firmly.
There is something ominous inside Alifa knowing that Hamzah will work as Nindi's personal assistant. In other words, Hamzah would have plenty of time with Nindi.
"Can't you, find her personal assistant as a fellow female?" alifa Syndir.
Hamzah was surprised and astonished at Alifa's attitude. Although he knew Alifa was always jutek to anyone. But this time, there was something different.
"Alifa," Hamzah rebuked Alifa and gestured through her eyes to maintain her attitude.
Then Nindi laughed bitterly. He also returned a sharp eye glare that was cast on Alifa.
"I'm in need of a male assistant because the task will require extra labor that will be difficult if handled by female workers," explained Nindi with a slight curling grin on her red lips.
"Nin, I'm sorry, if my wife's attitude is a bit impolite," said Hamzah who felt bad about Alifa's attitude. "I go first, take my wife to college."
Immediately Hamzah dragged Alifa's hand to leave. Until he reached the parking lot, Alifa shook her hand until she was free from Hamzah's grip.
Alifa was singing her lips looking annoyed. Even though he himself did not know what the cause was.
Hamzah just sighed, trying to stay patient. He simply handed over the helmet to Alifa and did not bring up the incident that had just happened.
For Hamzah to bring up the events that have passed, it will only make Alifa even more angry.
When Alfa was about to ride on a motorcycle, coinciding with that was a group of women walking past them.
"I heard, Miss Nindi recruited a new assistant huh?"
"Yes, he said who will be an assistant to Bu Nindi handsome, you know" said another woman.
While the other woman chuckled, "Great yes, Ms. Nindi, defiantly left her husband dead so immediately look for a new candidate."
Hearing the conversation of the horde of women increasingly makes the heart of Alifa. She gets new information that Nindi is a widow whose husband has just died.
"Oh, so she's a widow? Pantesan gatel."
"Astagfirullahaladzim, Alifa. Can't talk that way," said Hamzah, who was ready on his motorcycle. "Come on, get on."
