Alena POV's
My name is Alena Damayanti Nataprawira. I work as a lecturer at a university. I teach at the economics faculty. I am the youngest of two brothers. Although born in a family that does not lack both material and affection, but I was never spoiled excessively by my parents.
Since childhood, I have been taught to be independent. I became a lecturer because it was really my own business even though my mother was also a lecturer who was quite influential and had a fairly high position before finally deciding to retire early.
Before teaching at this University, I taught in the same city that my parents lived in. But I wanted to find a new challenge and get out of my comfort zone by deciding to teach at the University in a city that although not too far from where my parents live but enough to make me feel independent living by live alone.
I moved to the prestigious State University in this city with my own efforts. I don't want my mother to interfere in my career. I am grateful that my mother was a very understanding mother and freed her children to choose and achieve their dreams.
I have an older brother. My brother is a cold and very annoying guy. But even though it's cold and annoying, I love him so much. About 6 years ago, my brother experienced an incident that made him physically and psychologically ill. His wife left him because it was my brother's minus and annoying behavior. I took care of her for a whole month at the expense of my teaching schedule. I prefer to sacrifice my class schedule to keep my brother to make my mother worry about my fate who was still an assistant lecturer at that time.
I was grateful after a month, my brother managed to survive and started living his life again despite being shocked. I feel sorry for him but all the suffering he's been through is the result of his bad deeds to his own wife.
Instead of being arrogant or high-minded, in addition to a good career, my face can also be proud. Although there are no Caucasian or middle eastern descendants, but my beauty can be pitted against women of mixed blood. My father was a native Sundanese while my mother was a pure Javanese woman. With a blend of sunda and java, my face is not inferior to the women blasteran.
My skin is bright even though it is not as bright as the women of ginseng or sunrise country. My nose, although not as sharp as women of middle eastern descent but still pleasing to the eye and in my opinion is quite beautiful attached to my face. My eyes are neither narrow nor big, they are medium. My lips are also not too thick and not too thin and I am lucky to have lips that are without polishing with lipstick was already looking bright.
In conclusion, my face is very pleasing to the eye. That's what I think and also according to my mother and brother. Unlike my brother who always said that my face was ugly. But I'm sure my brother was just happy to tease me. The proof is that he is very protective of me. Every time a man comes near me, he'll put up a body to protect this one-of-a-kind sister.
Oh yes, since two years ago, I decided to close my aura by wearing a hijab even though it has not been seen to’i. My mother said slowly in enjoying the hijra process and I agreed with what my mother said. Although not yet hijab syar’i but I never wear clothes that are too tight or thin. Almost all the clothes I wear to get out of the house are loose and not thin. But I still wear tight clothes, hot pants, tank tops, or other types of sexy clothes left over from my jahiliyah time when I was at home.
Right now I'm happy to have good news from my brother who has rediscovered his wife. We also had a happy surprise. My sister has twins. It turns out, six years ago, my sister's wife left with their baby. My brother didn't know about his wife's pregnancy until he met her twins accidentally. There is still one hurdle that my brother has to face, which is my brother-in-law who has not forgiven my brother.
Today, I got word from my mother that my sister brought her two children to our house. I immediately left after my last class.3 hours of exhausting travel did not dampen my spirit to meet my two twin nieces.
After I got home, I was screaming for my annoying but lucky brother.
“Aa... where's Lena's cute niece?” I screamed from the front of the house to the backyard.
I was stunned to see two children with very similar faces before me. I knelt down to equalize my height with my two nephews. My tears are starting to melt.
“This is really his nephew Aunt?” I hugged them in one arm.
They looked at their father as if asking for an explanation about me who was now hugging them.
“This is called Aunt Lena. Aunt Lena is my sister's father. Aunt Lena works as a lecturer and teaches in Bandung.” My sister gave a brief introduction of me to my twin niece.
“You guys whose name is anyone?” ask me after outlining the hug.
“This is Aris,” answered one of the twins while pointing his index finger at his chest.
“This is Aras,” the other twin also did the same as his twin brother.
“Whose full name, A?” ask my brother.
“Aras full name Faras Kamandaka Nataprawira. If Aris, Faris Kamandaka Nataprawira.” replied my brother.
“This how do you two distinguish?” I asked while busy shrinking the tears that came back rushing to flow on my cheeks.
“Later you will be able to tell the difference, Len,” my mother said.
“How to do, Bu?”
“Aras is more similar in nature to your sister. While Aris is more similar to Iyah.”
I'm oh ria even though I don't understand what my mother said.
“Tante buyin lego toys for you. You guys like no?”
I gave Faras and Faris 1 lego set each.
“Passion, Aunt...” Faris immediately burst into my arms and kissed my left and right cheeks.
I also gave Faras 1 lego set.
“Still,” says Faras briefly.
I stared fixedly at Faras' face and saw Faras' gaze which was very similar to my brother's.
“Sama-sama, Aras... You must be Aras right?”
Faras nodded his head.
“And you Aris...”.
Faris smiled very sweetly and looked at me with her warm gaze.
“That's right, Len. In a short time you have been able to distinguish Aras and Aris,” said my mother amazed.
“Aras looks a lot like Aa, Mom. The look in Aras's eyes gave Lena goosebumps. Similar to Aa.”
“Jutek and ferociously also look very similar to Aa you,” added Mother.
“Seriously, Mom? How can it look so much like that?” wonder
“Yes. Aa their father.” My sister who was upset to hear my words immediately clicked my head.
“Aww..sick A.” protest.
