A Journey Of A Delusional Witch

A Journey Of A Delusional Witch
Chapter 52: Tower of Challenge

I don't know how long I've been in this place, but I feel like it's been a day since I came to this town.

The name of the city is Herausforderung... Don't ask me how to spell it because I don't know.

This city is famous for a tower that stands right in the center of the city which according to legend anyone who managed to conquer the tower, then he will get abundant treasures and power.

The name of the tower is Tower of Challenge.

No one knows for sure when the tower was built. The tower is said to have existed long before the city was built.

So far, only two people have claimed to have conquered the tower.

The former was said to have been an Emperor ruling over the entire continent. While the second person is said to have become a Great Witch whose magic power is unmatched throughout the continent.

Yup, I don't know his real name, but the second person is clearly my ancestor.

Oh, you want to know where I know all this information? That easy. I just stopped by the bar and wondered while drinking with the residents of this town.

From them I also managed to find out that they were originally ordinary Humans living in an ordinary world and not a terrible place like this with a demonic appearance.

They lived a normal life every day until one night they suddenly woke up in this place and their appearance was mutating because of exposure to the air of this place which seemed to be toxic to ordinary Humans.

"By the way. Miss's face looked foreign. Is the new Miss here?"

"Oh, what a strange question for a bar guard like you. Have you never had a new customer before?"

"He he's. This is what happens when you're trapped in the same town for hundreds of years. Don't want you to memorize everyone's faces"

"..."

Well, that makes sense.

"I don't know why I got here either. All I know is I have to go to that tower if I want to get out of here"

"Haha... Just try! All the Satria and Adventurers in this city have tried to reach the top of the tower! Want to know how it turned out? They descend as mindless creatures like the ones out there!"

So anyway.

The creatures I fought before could have been Challengers who failed and ended up being like that until they were exiled to the outside of the city.

After that, I stayed in the city for a few days.

A lot of information I got. But I wonder. Is it okay like this? I promised Grandma I'd solve my problems in three days. It's been three days!

Hah.

Hurrying is not an option either. I guess I can only apologize after this is over.

"Alright, I think it's time I challenge the tower"

No one was guarding the entrance of the tower. There was only a pair of stone statues that were shaped like dogs. I tried to look more closely, the more I was sure that they would not move suddenly and attack me.

Well, pushing the entrance made of thick black steel, the door of the tower opened a little enough for me to go inside.

A slam!

And.... The door is closed by itself. Classically.

The interior of this tower looked like a very spacious hall. There are pillars that stand as if supporting this tower so as not to collapse. The entire room was only illuminated by a dimly lit torch that was only able to illuminate a small part of this place.

The only place that lights up is the center of the room with a torch in a circular arrangement surrounding a figure that only stands there in silence.

Yup, just entered have met the boss.

It's just inevitable.

That's because the concept of this tower is to fight boss-class enemies on each floor.

There were no traps, no complicated labyrinths, just fighting the boss from start to finish.

The tower has a total of 100 floors...

Put that aside first, the boss standing before me was like a knight wearing iron armor from head to toe. On his back was a sword twice as long as his body.

The knight suddenly moved and picked up the weapon on his back.

(Darkness Restraint)!

Dark ropes emerged from the shadows and held the knight in place. Without waiting for his reaction, I immediately shot him with (Dual-Casting) (Light Lance). A pair of light spears appeared and flew right into the face of the knight.

"You're serious!"

The knight only moved his neck slightly and he managed to dodge the two light spears that flew towards him.

Not until there, the knight just took a step forward and (Darkness Restraint) who should have been holding him back instantly disappeared.

(Aero Press)

I tried to hold it down using air pressure but the knight only looked slightly bent and was still able to move easily.

(Ground Hole)

...Doesn't work!?

(Wave Stakes)

...Doesn't work, too?!

(Bind Root)

...you're kidding me!!?

Not having any more time, I used the (Shadow Switch) to move in the shadows to avoid the knight who had swung his greatsword at me.

Successfully dodging the incoming attack, I reappeared far away from the knight was located and immediately fired (Light Burst) which exploded right in the face of the knight.

Seeing that the knight was bathed in light, I continued to activate (Flaming Ground) which immediately burned the place where the knight was on foot.

As a final touch, I fired (Space Crack) just to make sure.

"...You're kidding!!!?"

Even after everything I put out, the knight looked fine. There were scratches here and there, but it was no different than saying that my attack was ineffective on him.

It is safe to say that the information I gathered is true.

The enemies in the first ten floors had high resistance to magic attacks.

Returning to use (Shadow Switch) to avoid the incoming attack, I tried to think about how I could get out of this situation.

As a pure Witch, I don't have a single method to physically attack. Normally I would try to use (Stone Armament) or (Wooden Armament) in this situation.

Unfortunately they cannot be used in this room at all.

Thanks to this my main magic became useless and I was forced to fight it with potluck magic.

At the time I was busy dodging, I was accidentally cornered to one of the support poles. Of course I went back to using (Shadow Switch) to avoid the sword swinging into my face. Escape from target, sword

the satria hit the support pole hard and managed to destroy it in one fell.

Drtrtr...!!!!

No more being a buffer, the rocks on the pole fall and hit the knight hard to make it unable to move for a while.

"...!?"

When the smoke and dust disappear, there is a knight with a dust-covered armour and decorated with dents here and there.

"Oh.... So it looks like"

There are still many pillars standing firmly. Even without the need to explain, you will immediately understand what I am going to do now, right?

...

"And it's over"

Buried under the rubble of stone, I watched the room that was torn apart like an abandoned building. Didn't think I should have knocked down more than half the pole. But since there is no other way, this must happen.

What I love is that I got nothing out of it. Even if I am given the Armor or Sword of that knight then I will be happy. It's a shame they're buried under a pile of rocks that somehow

I can't move however I try.

In the middle of the pitch-black space, a brightly lit magic circle appeared.

Teleportation circle?

Put my foot on it, though, suddenly my body was enveloped by a bright light and I felt a feeling as if I was floating in the air before I was no longer enveloped by the light and in front of me was a new sight.

"This time it's a rocky area well... ?!!"

[Sixth Sense] I reacted and I immediately hid behind the rocks.

Whoooosh...!!!. ..clang!

Passing through where I was standing before was an arrow that was painted black. The arrow created a spark when it hit the hard surface of the rock.

So anyway. The first satria are now sharpshooter.

Just like the previous one, this room was only illuminated by torch light with positions far apart so that only a few places where light could reach.

In the middle of the pitch-black room, I was forced to face a sharpshooter who had high resistance to magic.

...when is AOE!

(Dual-Casting) (Fire Pillar)

Two towering flame pillars that illuminated the surroundings clearly. Dodging the shot arrow, I managed to find my target.

Combining the two magic, I managed to create a wind that carried a red burning hot air as if it was a veil of fire that enveloped more than half the room.

My attack was a success regarding the Archer who became the boss on this floor.

The archer tried to resist the veil of fire with the hooded robe he was wearing. As a result, he managed to avoid severe injuries.

Knowing that this was not going to hurt him, I activated a magic that I could not initially use on the first floor.

(Bind Root)

Thanks to the floor of this room which was ordinary soil, I managed to grow a root creeper that successfully ensnared the archer tightly to make it impossible to escape.

Using [Psychokinesis] I raised the large rock that was beside me high in the air.

Successfully making the bow archer, I again stepped on top of the magic circle that appeared and sent me to the next floor.

On the third floor.

What awaited me was a dense forest.

(Nature Manipulation)

Without having to wait for long, the trunk and roots of the tree that I was moving successfully ensnared an existence that I felt trying to hide in the thick of the forest.

Dare to fight me in the woods. Stupid jerk.

With a slight movement, I made the tree root that was holding down this floor Boss move towards the Boss' head and directly twisted it.

Before entering into the magic circle that appeared before me, I peeked a little at the appearance of this floor Boss.

"Assassin anyway"

Satisfied, I continued to the next floor.

...

The fourth floor is an area with a steep cliff.

The boss on this floor was a burly man with a jacket from bear fur. He attacked by throwing boulders from a distance.

I defeated him by throwing back the stone he threw.

...

Fifth floor.

A kind of dojo with hundreds to thousands of weapons strewn across the floor.

The boss is a Samurai with a typical samurai Armor and is able to use all the weapons in this room.

How else.

I immediately used [Psychokinesis] to throw him with all the weapons available which instantly turned him into a hedgehog.

...

Sixth floor.

...It's a sewer, right?

The boss here is a rascal with a knife in his hand. His movements are very agile which makes it difficult to guess until he is able to hurt me even though I have tried to avoid by

with all my might. The most annoying thing was the poison on his knife.

If not for the [Poison Resistance] I had as well as the (Cure Heal) that was able to cure the poison, my life would definitely be in danger.

I only managed to defeat him after using a combo (Aqua Prison) to hold the Boss before I finally threw it into the deep water got then use (Ice Control) and (Combine-Ice Wall)

to freeze the entire surface of the water which makes the Boss trapped in the bottom of the water that makes it drown.

...

Seventh floor.

This time it was a village with houses made of wood and thatched roofs.

The boss I fought was an old farmer complete with a straw hat and hoe in hand.

Oh, you think he's funny?

Hahaha, I'm the same. Until that bastard started whistling and called out to the hundreds of big horned bulls that lunged straight at me simultaneously.

The farmer? He had been hiding somewhere while I was busy dodging the bull he called.

No matter how many times I exterminated the bulls, they just kept appearing as if they were endless.

I could still hear the voice of the farmer who kept calling his bull. I think it now seems more appropriate to call him a shepherd than a farmer.

Although his voice was clear, his form was still not visible.

I only managed to find it after using (Nature Rush) which instantly made this area into a dense forest area.

The bastard was hiding underground.

Upset, I twisted her body using the roots of a tree like I was drying a wet cloth.

...

Eighth floor.

This time I was in the city.

What I have to fight this time is a knight armed with a sword and shield. I don't see anything special about him.

The knight started running towards me at a moderate pace. His heavy armor made him let out a loud sound as he moved.

I don't know his special abilities and I don't want to find out.

(Bind Root)

The roots of the plant grew from under the paving roads and ensnared the knight.

As if those roots were meaningless, the knight kept on going while tearing apart the roots that should have held him back with just his physical strength alone.

(Ground Hole)

Hoping for him to fall, the knight jumped high into the air and managed to avoid the hole created on the ground. Not only that, the knight now managed to land right in front of me.

Using the (Shadow Switch) I dived into the shadows and reappeared far behind him.

Now, let's look around for a moment.

If this was the same as the previous Boss-Boss, there would definitely be a trick or two to defeat him.

Direct magic attacks are definitely not an option. I had to use physical attacks to defeat him.

I am different in urban areas.

Other than building houses mostly made of brick and wood, I did not see anything else that seemed useful at first glance.

Back using (Shadow Switch) I returned away from the knights who came attacking.

Hmm... Shall I make it flat under the rubble like on the first floor? But this time not a pole but a whole house.

All right, I guess I'll just use it that way.

Using (Nature Manipulation) I grew a giant tree at the bottom of the existing houses and raised it high into the air. Meanwhile, I also used (Metal Wall) to hinder the knight for a while.

By the time the knight managed to cut through the steel wall that held him down using his sword, he was already right under the houses of the citizens I raised high into the air.

Drtrtrtrtr.... Booom!!!!

Since there was a magic circle appearing in front of me, it was safe to say that the knight was already buried under the ruins of the house.

...

Ninth floor.

This time I appeared in a room from wherever you saw it, this was the bedroom. More precisely this was the inn's bedroom.

Opening the door in front of me, I entered into a dining room with a wooden table full of warm food as it had just come out of the kitchen.

"Haha.... Finally a new challenger"

Sitting on the bench of honor, was an old man who was only bare-chested and showed off his thin and old body.

"Are you the Boss of this floor?"

"And what makes you think that?"

"Because since the first floor I've always been attacked by men like you"

"Hahaha.pardon them, they are just a shadow of the heroes who died against the construction of this tower"

"Then who are you?"

"I, I was the one who designed this tower"

"Oh, and now you're stuck in a tower of your own design?"

"Hahahaha. Let's sit. Let's talk"

Having no choice, I sat on the bench opposite him without lowering my guard.

"First, let's talk about your father holding everyone in this town"
