A Journey Of A Delusional Witch

A Journey Of A Delusional Witch
Chapter 74: Road to Narsist Kingdom

Walking in the middle of the hot and arid desert, I continued to hold my conical hat so as not to be blown by the strong wind.

Although already wearing a robe that has been equipped with features to regulate the temperature of the wearer, but the stinging heat of the sun is still unable to be fully dammed.

Walking with me were my disciple Luna, as well as my usual Servants and slaves.

With the exception of the twins Trita and Vier. Because the two of them are now still borrowed by Grandma as her Guard.

Although I said 'walk' of course I didn't mean to walk on both legs. But we are now riding (Forest Golem) which I deliberately shaped until it looks like a horse.

The reason why I even bothered to make a horse-shaped Golem was so that we wouldn't have to bother thinking about the health and stamina of our mounts as we had to force them to walk endlessly through the dried-up Ancient Dessert nan arid.

While the reason why we had come to walk in the middle of the wilderness like this was to be able to infiltrate into the Narsist Kingdom without being noticed by the border guards.

According to information from Bleach, there is a secret tunnel in the middle of the Ancient Dessert that is connected to the culvert that leads directly to the ancient city under the present Capital of the Narsist Kingdom.

"Luna, how far are we?"

With the map and compass in hand, Luna began to estimate the position and direction of our destination.

"If my estimate is correct, we'll be up after two or three more days of travel"

That means it's still a long time.

Since the wind that blows hard carries the grains of desert sand, I must narrow my eyes so as not to flicker. I even had to wrap the cloth around my mouth as a mask so that the dust grains would not be inhaled by me.

Looking ahead, there was only a vast expanse of sand in sight.

There is nothing to be seen that can be used as a benchmark to determine our true position. Even Glaza who I had told to watch from space also did not find anything in the middle of this vast desert.

After the current situation, I only spurred my horse's golem to go a little faster.

The night is late.

Unlike the daytime that burns the skin, the temperature of the desert at night is very cold to be able to make you freeze to death.

We are now camping in the desert.

Thanks to my Servants who did not need rest, they happily built a simple camp as a place for me and my students to rest.

As for my two slaves, Victoria and Glory were in charge of preparing dinner.

Thanks to the blessing that can accommodate many things, we can bring as much supplies as possible without fearing it will burden us.

What adds to the good is that we can bring fresh food supplies without fear that it will rot because the time inside it seems to stop.

Thanks to this I can feel a luxury that not many people can feel.

Eating fresh food in the middle of a barren desert.

If I were in the world without any magic items or anything like that to store fresh food, I would probably be stuck eating canned food.

While waiting for the food to be ready to be served, I looked back at the map I got from Bleach.

Besides we had to find an old sewer door in the middle of the desert, the problem after we found it was also not that trivial.

As with most secret paths, the path we have to go through will be a labyrinth the size of the entire city.

The labyrinth is full of confusing twists and forked paths that can lead you to places you don't want to go.

The thing I can do now is try hard to remember the right path and memorize it out of my head.

While I was doing this, Luna was busy reading a book with a face that blushed in shame.

By the time I said 'book', I meant a stack of paper in a makeshift volume with a rope without a hard cover protecting it.

If you ask where he got the book from, it's the same book that Milim wrote when Luna and I went home to pick up the Equipment.

For what the content of the book, well, judging from Luna who had not been able to stay still while reading it, I suspect it had something to do with her race.

"Master, dinner's ready"

Oh, excellent.

End my business and awaken Luna from her fantasy, we began to enjoy our delicious dinner.

...

The day has passed.

After resting for an entire night, we decided to leave early in the morning even before the sun had yet to rise.

With the temperature still piercing, we spurred the Horse Golem back through the sand that was still enveloped by sparkling dew crystals.

"Master, there's movement on the sand"

What this is, just leaving there is already a problem.

On the warning from Glory, we reduced our pace. Sending Glaza forward, I finally found out what the problem was.

It was a scorpion.

A giant two-meter scorpion armed with a pair of sharp claws and a stinger whose needles alone are as big as an adult's head.

[Identify]

"Heh, (Sandcastle Scorpion) Percy and Victoria, come forward. Luna, you help them from a distance"

""READY!""

"Good, Teacher"

Percy and Victoria gallantly spurred their Horse Golems at full speed. Just before they faced the scorpion, they both jumped off the Horse Golem and landed right in front of the Scorpion.

Kryaaa!!!

With a strange sound, the scorpion looked furious and started attacking Percy and Victoria.

(Stand) (Defense Up)

Strengthening his defenses, Percy lifts his Buckler high to welcome the claw attack that comes to him.

Meanwhile, Victoria moved beside the scorpion with an axe in both hands and swung it with all her might towards the scorpion's tail.

(Heavy Swing)

With her powerful swing Victoria successfully cut clean the tail of the scorpion which carried a very poisonous one.

Kryaaaa...!!!!

Wrathful, the scorpion begins to direct its sharp claws trying to get Victoria. Honey, what she thought Victoria turned out to be nothing more than (Minor Illusion) produced by Luna who was standing at a safe distance.

(Sharp Edge)

With her attention again distracted by Percy, the original Victoria again managed to cleanly cut off the two hind legs of the scorpion with both axes.

Percy attacks from the front, Victoria is always on the move, and the confusing illusion of Luna makes the scorpion finally overwhelmed.

In the end the scorpion fell as well and ended up as a mere drop item.

Although this was the first time I had seen Luna fight in real terms, but the use of her illusion was already so good that it was able to effectively confuse her opponent.

"Gather the drop and we'll be back!"

Although at the beginning we had encountered a small obstacle, our journey then smoothly without any obstacles at all.

I am so bored because of it.

...

Without feeling two days have passed.

At the moment our position is very close to our goal. It was only a matter of time until we finally found the entrance to the culvert that would lead us to infiltrate the Narsist Kingdom secretly.

"Master, there's ruins ahead!"

Commanding Glaza to check the place Glory meant, there was indeed some sort of ancient city ruins buried by sand.

Entering the ruins, we found ancient buildings that were once possible inhabited by the lower middle class because of the small size of the house and its fairly simple architecture.

Although more than half of it has been buried by sand, but there are still many buildings that stand strong sign that this place is still there.

"Shopping, look for anything that looks like an entrance!"

"""READY!"""

Feeling that this was the place, I ordered my Servants and Slaves to split up and search for the entrance to the passageway.

After hours of searching, Zweite finally found the door we had been looking for.

"It's unlocked, all right, Percy, you're walking in.." I haven't had time to finish giving the order, Glaza who was still flying outside suddenly just saw something approaching from a distance.

"Luna, make this entrance invisible now!"

"Well! (Minor Illusion)"

Using her [Illusion Magic], Luna made it seem as if the entrance to this culvert had never been

there are. With all of us still in it, of course this also at once makes us no longer visible.

As for the Horse Golems that were still outside, I instantly made them run away leaving this area as quickly as possible.

Still activating (Vision Sharing) I watched the approaching figure from Glaza's eyes.

What approached was a group of mounted warriors who appeared to be on patrol. They casually approached the ruins before finally stopping when they discovered that there were horse footprints in the sand.

Of the 5 soldiers present, three of them directly spurred their horses following the direction of the footprints they found. While the two remaining soldiers began to comb the rubble area in case there were still people around.

Oh, shite! Our footprints are still there!!!

"Teacher..."

"Shhh..."

Trying not to fuss, we waited in silence for the two soldiers to give up their search and leave.

Although there are only two, and although they both look weak, but we can't just get rid of them because it's the same as telling us that we're here. Even if we managed to cover our tracks after taking out all the soldiers, the fact that one team of soldiers had disappeared would still be there.

While the two soldiers were searching elsewhere, I took the time to use (Aero Control) to remove our tracks leading into the culvert.

"Everyone, get inside. I'm gonna seal this driveway"

After everyone passed through the bars, I then used (Nature Creation) to create a wall that covered this entire road so that it could no longer be passed as a final precaution.

For Glaza who is still outside, later I just have to call him again by using [Summoning Magic] so it doesn't matter even if he stays though.

No longer paying heed to the soldiers still searching outside, we began to enter the winding region of the ancient labyrinth.

...

Walking inside the dark hallway, I used (Light Control) to create a ball of light that served as a source of illumination.

Although I have [Night Vision] but it seems that Luna does not have it so she still needs a light source to see in the dark.

Going hand in hand, Percy who was a Tanker walked ahead and Victoria walked in the back row.

Looking at the map in hand, I attempted to direct us through this puzzling labyrinth.

"Hmm?"

After a while of walking, I began to hear the sound of running water.

It seems we are close to the part where the sewer is still being drained by water. Even so, I still can't smell the typical foul scent of a dirty sewer.

In the end we arrived at the part of the sewer that was still flowed by water. Different from my shadow, the water flowing here is still clear until it looks more like a river flow than a sewer flow.

"Victoria, drink"

"Wait a minute, what?!"

"I said, drink!"

"You're serious?... Huh, it tastes sweet?!"

So, even the sewer water is so clean that it can be drunk. It is only fitting that the 'wasted' citizens can live peacefully down here.

According to the map, we just have to follow the direction this water flow is coming from.

Returning to continue the journey, we walked down the water flow to get to our destination. Along the way I could not find any of the things that could be called trash. Along the water flow is very

clean and well-maintained looks surpassing the culverts of modern cities.

As I walked, I kept watching the movements of the soldiers outside using Glaza's vision.

It seemed that the warrior who was chasing the footprints of the horse on the sand had returned and joined the other warriors.

They seemed to be talking about something before finally resuming their patrols.

Hah, in times like this I wish that I had some expertise in reading mouth movements. That way I can at least find out what they're really talking about.

Even so, I still ordered Glaza to follow them from a distance.

Returning my attention to the road before my eyes, Percy who was walking at the very front suddenly stopped his steps.

"Master, there's a shadow of someone in front"

"Oh, how many?"

"Only one, little boy"

Local boy yeah.

Although Percy said he saw it, but I couldn't see anyone in front. Did the boy run away after seeing us?

That's just possible. I mean, if you've been hiding all your life, you'll be wary of every stranger you meet.

However, simultaneously, the existence of the child also indicates that we are close to the nearest dwelling.

"Glory, can you trace where the boy went?"

"The servant will do it"

Changing positions with Percy, Glory with her sharp kiss leads the way as she tracks down the whereabouts of the boy.

Since it seems that Glory has smelled something, it means that the child was actually here.

Although Glory is from the Panther tribe, which does not specialize in smell as the Dog tribe, but the smell he has is still sharper than ordinary people. With his ability Glory began to guide us.

After walking for a long time, Glory stopped his steps.

"Masters..."

"Yes, we've arrived"

Although I could not see them, but their existence was clearly felt.

Hiding behind the darkness, the locals had surrounded us and began to notice our every move.

Sensing the danger, my Servants immediately entered into a defensive position with me and Luna in the middle.

"Teacher, we're not going to fight them right away, are we?"

"Just calm down, we're not here to look for enemies"

Even if I say so, if they attack first then I will not remain silent.

All right, let's try my negotiating skills.

"I am the Witch of the Ibis Forest, Lavender La Ciel! We have come here not to be your opponents, but to be allies. So, come out of your hiding place and take us to your leadership!"

After they heard me, we decided to wait.

Moments later, a group of people came over.

They were wearing an old-looking Leather Armor and should no longer be worth wearing. In their hands were swords and spears that looked cheap or even more appropriate to call it a weapon made by the novice Blacksmith.

Each of them is very young. Even the oldest of his age would definitely not be too far away with Luna.

Stopping a few meters in front of us, the oldest young man who played their lead began to speak, nervously of course.

"Who are you d-and what do you want!"

Oh, mercy. Didn't they hear what I just said?

"Again I tell you. I am the Witch of the Ibis Forest, Lavender La Ciel. I'm the witch from Sol Ciel. My coming here is not to find trouble with you. Except to finish

your problems. So, please, take us to your leadership so that we can talk about it peacefully"

They seemed to not know or even might not understand what I just said. After whispering to each other, they finally reached an agreement.

"Then with us. But never mess around!"

Oh my goodness, that's convincing.

Never mind, what is important with this is that I get a guide to their shelter and even get an appointment to be able to meet their leader.
