After Married

After Married
DAY H

Other purposes of this pingitan tradition include fostering longing for both prospective brides, building mutual trust, practicing patience, and keeping out of all danger.

...🌿 The next day 🌿...

The day that awaited has arrived. This morning Nisa and Zein will do a procession of watering in different places, namely in their respective homes.

Because Nisa and Zein are the same as Javanese blood, the yamg procession is done according to Javanese custom. And the first thing they do is process the flush. This is done to cleanse the soul of the bride.

First Nisa begged for blessings to her parents, then she sat on the pandan mat that had been provided and began to be watered by the pinisulet, then she sat down, namely the person who ‘dituakan’ is Nisa's grandmother and some relatives who have been appointed. Then afterwards he was watered by water jug by his mother and father.

Literally, watering means bathing with water. In this ritual, there will be seven people who pour water on the bride. And the last is Nisa's father who will complete the ritual, which is symbolized as self-cleaning before carrying out the next ritual that is more sacred. In addition to the task of ending the flush, Nisa's father will also carry Nisa to her bridal room.

The next process is paes or ngerik. Just after the ceremony, the ceremony was done in Nisa's room. Not only followed by Nisa, but this ceremony was also followed by Nisa's mother, and several other elderly mothers.

What is meant by ngerik is to scrape or remove the fine hairs on the face of the bride to look clean and her face becomes radiant.

The next procession is Adol dawet.

Later, both Nisa's parents organized an event selling dawet as a dish to invited guests who had been present to witness the procession that had been running.

However, the sale of this dawet is not paid with money, but with crews or pieces of clay pottery as a sign that the essence of life comes from the earth.

Here, Nisa's mother will serve the buyers, while Nisa's father will protect the mother. The meaning is to give an example to his children in the future that they must work together in fostering the household.

Then the next event is to cut tumpeng.Tumpeng is a conical rice dish with various side dishes arranged around it on a round tray made of woven bamboo.

In Javanese rituals, tumpeng is synonymous with the symbol of prosperity and well-being because its shape resembles a mountain. This tumpeng cutting procession will be carried out by Nisa's father and mother by taking the top of the tumpeng and side dishes.

Then the next event is the event of the final bribery procession made by the father and mother of Nisa to her daughter as a sign of the last responsibility of the parents to her son who is getting married.

Then the event continued with hair planting and chicken release. Embedding a second hair cut bride intends that all bad things are kept away from the household of her two children. After that, it will be followed by the release of a black rooster which indicates that both parents have let their children live independently like a chicken that can find their own food.

After all these processes are completed almost a full day, Nisa will undergo the process of "Midodareni ".

The word midodaren itself comes from the Javanese language, namely 'widodari' or bidadari in Indonesian.

The meaning of the word midodareni itself is an angel, so the hope of the night ritual before releasing this single period is that the bride will look beautiful the next day like an angel from heaven. Nothing else and nothing is meant by Nisa.

On this night, the bride will be accompanied by the family only and is prohibited from meeting her future husband because he will receive advice related to marriage.

...🌿 Then the next day 🌿...

After Nisa dimake up since 05.00 am, finally she finished also dimake up with Javanese customs. She looks so pretty.

Then finished changing clothes, he sat down at the place that had been prepared while waiting for Zein to say his qobul ijab.

Exactly at 08.00 WIB, Zein who had come with his entire family was already sitting in front of the upstream.

The one sitting in front of him is now Nisa's marriage guardian who is none other than Nisa's own father and there is a pak penghulu and KUA officers also behind them have sat witnesses who have been present.

After everything is ready, Nisa's father also recites the memorization of the ijab. The atmosphere seemed silent for a moment, then Nisa's father said as he shook Zein's hand.

"I marry you Ananda Muhammad Zein bin Abhimanyu to Annisa Faiha bint Abdul Nadzar with a dowry a set of prayer tools and a set of gold jewelry 18 carat paid in cash."

Then Zein with one breath he said kabul memorization...

"I accept the marriage of Annisa Faiha bint Abdul Nadzar with a dowry a set of prayer tools and a set of gold jewelry 18 carat paid in cash."

"How's witness?"

"Well," said everyone and witnesses.

"Alhamdulillah" he said.

Then they read the same prayer together.

Nisa who listened across there also said thank God accompanied by a sense of happiness. Then she flanked her mother and the fairy to approach her husband to sign the marriage license.

Then after signing the marriage license, Zein put a ring on Nisa's fingers. Nisa kisses Zein's hand and Zein replies by kissing Nisa's forehead.

Both of them seemed to be mixed happily through everything. Now they both live through the next custom process.

Then they continued with the grill ceremony.

The procession began with the arrival of Zein and the group to the residence of the bride-to-be, they stopped in front of the entrance of the house.

On the side of the groom's entourage, there were two young men or two mothers carrying each of a series of flowers called mayang twins.

One of them carried a bun wrapped in banana leaves and placed on a tray. The court was handed over to the mother of the bride.

While the mayang twins were taken out of the house area and thrown into a nearby street, with the intention that the wedding ceremony always runs smoothly without interruption.

After that they did "The Stubble"

In the process of meeting this manten, gantal or betel tied by white thread will be thrown at each other by both partners. The distance between the bride and groom is approximately five steps.

Zein would throw a gantal to the bride's chest as a sign that she had taken the lover's heart, and Nisa would point the gantal to Zein's knee as a sign of filial piety to the husband.

According to ancient beliefs, betel leaves have the power to repel evil spirits in each prospective bride as well.

Then afterward Nisa and Zein underwent the next custom that is "Negotan nincak/endog nincak"

The ritual of stepping on a raw chicken egg by Zein and it was implemented as a hope that he would get offspring because the two had united. Later, Nisa will wash Zein's feet as a sign of her affection.
