Alterin Saga: Biohazard
Episode 3: Evacuation Building

It's just a matter of time they're gonna break through this door. People panicked and pushed each other out the back door.

"Rave, what should we do now?" ask Miko. His hand held tightly to my right arm.

I was actually quite panicked and confused by this situation. Just then, suddenly someone pulled my left arm back. Me and Miko were dragged until they arrived in front of the toilet.

"Sam?" I was amazed to see it. He was dressed like a city office clerk.

"There's no time to explain. We need to get out of here, right away" Sam said.

"But how?" ask Miko.

Sam looked around, then said, "Follow me to the rooftop."

Sam pulled us back through the panicked crowd. They crammed and sometimes until there was a fight. Finally after some time, we arrived at a stairway that was crowded by women and children.

"Excuse me, we're going through" Sam said politely. But it seems like decency needs to be put aside during situations like this. Look, one of the old ladies came forward and challenged Sam.

"What do you want to do? Above is full and crowded. You'd better be on the first floor" said the woman.

Sam complained, "Mrs, we have business up there. I have to take this husband and wife to the office above. This woman is pregnant"

What say? Husband-wife? So that's why Sam wears the officer's uniform. Looks like Sam succeeded, the woman relented and let us pass.

A few steps after coming out of the crowded stairs, I asked Sam. His plan was too perfect, as if he knew what was going to happen.

"Sam, are you hiding something?" my many.

Sam did not turn his head, but he continued to answer, "What do you mean?"

We continued to pass people along the aisle leading up the stairs to the rooftop. Some of the children in this hallway were crying out of fear. Looks like they already know what's going on down there.

We finally arrived at the rooftop, overwhelmed. The reddened night sky is still visible from here. The night wind also blew, making the temperature around it become very cold. Sam walked over to the wire fence on the edge of the rooftop. He looked at the two of us who were still standing in front of the door leading to this place.

"Close the door, Rave. Let no one come in here" he said seriously.

"You know what that is?" sam asked, he pointed to the center of the explosion which was a great distance away from where we were.

"Chemical explosion, isn't it?" my answer. Miko was just glued to her place while staring at the center of the explosion.

"No, it was an explosion of Projects" Sam said, he seemed to know what was going on right now.

"Projects? What'sthat?"

"Projects are people who have the ability to control things. In short, they are superhuman. Projects is a government-owned genetic engineering experiment aimed at balancing life on earth. Unfortunately, one of the Projects got out of control and escaped leaving the facility" Sam said.

"You mean, they blew up the Industrial District?"

"Not them, but only one person"

"You know something about all this, don't you? Explain to me" I held Sam's shoulders and shook him.

Sam just let out a long sigh and said, "You still don't remember, huh? Listen, Rave. You, me, and Miko, we are Projects. But you're the only one who lost his memory after what happened a few years ago."

"That's right. We both took you away from the facility after the scientists there decided to exterminate the Projects" this time Miko spoke.

Miko pointed at the center of the explosion as she looked at me, "That place is the Project's hideout that went out of control a few years ago. The scientists labeled it as 'Biohazard'. Because of its ability to control the cells of living things"

"How many projects has the government created?" my many.

"There's ten. Half disappeared somewhere when we all ran away from the facility. All have certain abilities. But some were still in the process of development at that time."

"We have to go, Rave. This city will be destroyed over time. Are you coming or not?" ask Sam.

"I. come. But, how do we get out of here? This place has been surrounded by those creatures."

"Creeper, that's what it's called. I've already contacted two other Projects. They said they'd be here in half an hour. So that long, stay alive."
