Are You My Brother ?

Are You My Brother ?
A Wisdom

That evening, after I drove Sherly home, my sister and I decided to go back to our new home, which was a long way away. A special day has been created. My brother was the creator of it all. I'm really satisfied with that special day.

The evening before the Azan magrib, my brother and I had started to leave for our new home. And as a result, it did not take long, just when the Azan reverberated we had reached home. Remember, the trip was much better than my first trip to my old house at the time. A gripping night trip that will never be forgotten.

When I was at home somehow my heart was knocked to perform congregational prayers in the mosque. After that, I always prayed at home. I also went to the nearest mosque from my house, which, although not close, was quite far from my house.

After performing the congregational magrib prayer, I did not go straight home. In the pulpit there stands an ustad who may every day always give his tausiyya to the pilgrims. Whether intentional or not, his tausiya was as if to offend me. The grafting - the word that came out of his mouth as if - would force me to follow it. The tausiyah conveyed by him was about friendship and the consequences of breaking off friendship. Obviously it offended me because I had completely cut off my friendship with friends who had hurt me before.

" Even friends in just 3 days should not. Continue what about me who has held grudges for so many years. How many sins are there ?" My mind when it hears the tausiyah of the ustad.

I kept thinking about it, even until the old man ended his tausiyahya. I was in the mosque for a while and then I went home. Through that, I really got a meaningful impression.

" It seems I have to mend my bond with them. No matter if they are the guilty ones. The important thing is that I do not have a great sin" I said as I looked at the star-filled night sky.

The next day on Sunday, I confirmed my intention to visit one by one the houses of friends who had done me bad. But I need friends to accompany me to visit many houses. I tried to take my brother on that noble mission.

" Sister...." Call me while knocking on her bedroom door.

But there was no answer from him. I tried to knock on the door and call him again, but still there was no answer. Out of annoyance, I banged on the door until it made a very loud noise, and when my door banged, the door opened by itself.

" Hadeh, it's not locked?" I muttered, who then opened the door with the width of the new one half open.

I started to enter his room. On the bed there saw my brother sleeping soundly. I know he's awake, but that's my brother's job on the day off. Waking up in the morning and sleeping again, as if - would have been his habit.

" I can't believe he could be a Director" I muttered as I looked at him.

Because he could not be expected, I also decided to go alone to the house of my friends. When I arrived at the housing complex of my old house, I remembered the figure of a woman who was always there for me when I liked or mourned. I took the initiative to ask him to accompany me to the house of friends. My friend, his friend, too. Because we were a school.

I took my foot to his house, when the weather was not friendly. Black cloudiness adorned the beauty of the morning. But inevitably I have to carry out the noble mission, because I also do not know how the circumstances of the day - tomorrow.

" Assalamualaikum" I said, knocking on Sherly's door.

" Greetings waalaikum" the voice of the old woman answered my greeting. Maybe she is Sherly's grandmother, because there are only 3 people in the house, namely, Sherly's grandfather and grandmother and Sherly himself.

Soon, a pull from the inside opened the wooden door. And there was an old woman who was none other than Sherly's grandmother. I kissed her hand and asked Sherly for whereabouts.

" Is there no Sherly ?" Ask her.

"Sherly is taking a bath, you just wait inside" Grandma Sherly replied in her distinctive raspy voice.

" No need Grandma, thank you, I'm waiting outside" I replied.

" Yes, Grandma" I answered.

The grandmother then went into her house, leaving me alone in the room. I saw the sky getting darker that morning. Looks like it's going to rain. And sure enough, when the beautiful girl came out to see me, the drizzle had already hit the ground. It seems that the ice chunks above there have begun to melt and produce points - points of water that increase rapidly.

" Oh, use the rain again" I complained.

" Husse... Don't talk like that, rain is a gift from the creator. You should thank him !" Reply Sherly.

" Yes Ustadzah is beautiful" I praised him.

I can't believe the rain is getting any more - so. Those drops of water had turned into a torrential jumble that drenched almost the entire area. The wind is not inferior to water, it exhales and flies leaves and small objects out there. Unbeknownst to us, the water had already begun to wet the terrace of the small house. Sherly thoughtlessly invited me into her house.

" It's getting faster, inside !" Bring along.

" I'm here, it's not worth it if a man is alone with a woman who is not his muhrim in the house," said my sok alim.

" Who says alone, there will be grandparents, come on in," Invite him again.

I can't refuse his request a second time. Honestly, I just saw the area inside Sherly's house for the first time. It is far from a modern word. The wooden house has begun to decay, the furniture is still very simple.

I was welcome to sit on the old wooden chair in the living room. Accompanied by his grandparents, we also talked to each other including talking about the purpose of my arrival there.

" so..... You haven't been at peace all this time ?" Ask Sherly after I tell her.

" I have forgiven him, but the heartache is always there. That's why, I've always had a grudge against them to date. But I've come to realize that revenge is useless, so I want to make peace to create bonds of friendship" I said at length.

" That's right, Son Candra, you better fix your friendship with them !" Grandpa Sherly's.

" Yes cake, sure," I answered briefly.

Soon enough, the rushing water that hit the earth was already signaling it would end. Only the sound of water droplets falling onto the roofs of the houses.

" The rain has stopped, we better get going now" Sherly said.

" Okay, Grandma, Grandma, we say yes first" I said goodbye to Grandpa and Grandma Sherly while kissing her hand.

That day seems to be a day of peace between me and all the friends who bullied me once. A lasting peace that will create true friendship. Although it is still my hope, but I am sure it will happen.
