Two hours after the arrival of Eko's body, the tomb for him has been excavated at the behest of the local RT chairman. With tears in her eyes, Puji and Gendis delivered Eko's body to her last bed. Darmo himself tried to toughen up. The man was at the front, carrying the boy's coffin.
Azzam, Zakaria and Major Indra followed from behind. The hat they wore made the Eko family not recognize the existence of the two. Major Indra asked Azzam and Zakaria to keep their distance, not to get too close to the tomb. He did not want the Eko family to realize their existence.
If Azzam and Zachariah met the Eko family, it was feared that they would ask about Eko's death. If news of Eko's torture were to spread without any evidence, then the position of Azzam and Zachariah would be a danger. Both men were expelled from the academy.
Praise fell to the ground as she watched her husband and some neighbors drop Eko's body into a pit. Gendis did not stop crying while calling out Eko's name. The older brother who was so dear and proud of him had now left him for good. Only tears could Gendis release to voice her grief.
Azzam fell to his knees as the gravediggers began to hoard his friend's body with the ground. His hands scooped up the ground beneath him, while continuing to shed tears. Zechariah was not much different, his tears kept dripping down the ground beneath him.
The ustadz leading the funeral chanted prayers for Eko, who was adored by all present. After the funeral was over, one by one the residents left the cemetery. Darmo guided his son and wife back home. The three of them looked empty. Something precious has been lost from their lives forever.
Once Eko's tomb had been abandoned by the families and mourners, Major Indra invited Azzam and Zakaria closer. Azzam gathered before Eko's tomb, his hand holding a gravestone bearing the name of his friend. Zakaria cried while hugging the mound of land that was still red.
“Eko. I promise you, I will uncover everything. I make sure the person who has made you go, will pay for everything,”, Azzam said in between his tears while grasping the ground of Eko's tomb.
“We will continue your struggle. We will also keep Seno.”
“I will take care of Gendis as you wish. I'll also take care of both your parents.”
“I, Azzam and Seno will be sisters to Gendis and children to your parents. Let us carry on your responsibilities.”
Major Indra was moved to hear what Azzam and Zakaria had said. Their friendship is so close. The man then remembered Seno who was still unconscious. I don't know what would happen to the boy if I knew Eko had left him for good.
Chief Major Indra looked up. The sun is beginning to shift west. It didn't feel like they had left the academy long enough. The man approached Azzam and Zechariah, and helped them to their feet.
“We haven't met the Eko.” family
“Later..there's a time you guys met. There will be a time when you will meet the Eko family and reveal the truth that happened. But not now. You better go home first. I promise I will help you all I can.”
Hearing Major Indra's promise, Azzam and Zakaria agreed to return to the academy. They will seek evidence and witnesses for the torture Gusti committed. Azzam promised, Gusti and his two friends will get the right punishment for his actions.
Meanwhile, at Eko's residence, the neighbors were still gathered in the funeral home. Guji friends together help prepare for the event tahlilan later tonight. Praise herself still sitting quietly in the front room. The woman still did not believe, her son was no longer in this world. She kept crying while calling her son's name.
Darmo, still grieving, sits in a bale accompanied by his neighbors. The man just silently listened to the chatter of his neighbor who was astonished by Eko's sudden departure. Moreover, the body of Eko when repatriated has been bathed and pardoned. Like something they cover up.
“Pak Darmo, do you believe what coach Eko said?”
“Believe or nda, I was forced to believe that Eko's departure was due to an accident while playing futsal.”
“Do you want to find the truth?”
“I'm just a little wong. Can what I am? I can only nerimo. Eko... Eko.”.
Darmo's cries that had been detained finally broke as well. A neighbor close to him, embraces the man and tries to calm him down. Everyone near Darmo fell silent, not knowing what to say. They can only pray that Eko is calm in his new place and the family left behind is given fortitude and patience.
