His mind was muddled throughout the ordeal, blocking most of the ordeal in his mind. He knew only one thing could bring him peace after all this was over…
“You promised..” she couldn't help but whisper on the sidelines of her moans as she felt the man pushing her deep into her. Leyla arched her back as she continued walking, her hands clasped her biceps, her fingernails pierced into her skin due to the reluctant pleasure flowing through her veins…
Matthias looked at him, lustful eyes looking at him with an urgent attitude to voice his thoughts. He was too drunk in euphoria at that moment, feeling his warmth envelop him, pressing down on him tightly within him. She removed her grip on her hair, and used it to cover her flushed cheeks…
“You promised to show mercy.” he continued, letting out a panting groan as the man hit him deep in his sweet spot, his hand hastily grabbed the purchase on the wide shoulder of the man, “Please…” he pleads, unable to voice more reasonable words.
Despite being too preoccupied with the feeling veiled within her, Matthias still had common sense about her, and understood her completely. He could not help but chuckle as he sped up his pace, snorting whenever he approached towards her.
How could he hate her?
She looked so charming, pleading for the freedom of her beloved Uncle Bill while wriggling the pleasures beneath her. It didn't matter to him why he agreed to deal with her at this moment, her eyes still shone beautifully like jewels to him.
He watched as he struggled to support his weight on his arms, grabbing it blindly as he hooked his arms from the back of his neck, bringing their faces closer together. He could clearly see the tears in the corner of his eyes and he began to pursue his pleasure upon seeing them.
She could cry at any time, if she delayed answering. He lowered his head back while groaning mischievously, his eyelids closed as he lost strength as he felt warmth flowing into him. His body lay limp on the floor, leaving Matthias breathless with sweat on his eyebrows as he floated above him.
He could not help but admire her. Leyla still stubbornly refused to look at him, but that didn't matter. Nothing had changed in the desire he felt towards her, even seeming to be getting stronger.
Again, again, inevitably he thought while pulling the woman towards him, his hand clasping the woman's disheveled hair firmly, yet gently. He caught a glimpse of fear in her as he did so, before he finally turned to look at her.
And he ripped his lips once more as they began their intimate dance again.
Really, this is a fair deal, Matthias thought to himself.
When Leyla woke up from her deep sleep, the entire room was filled with bright light.
He grimaced as the sunlight hit his eyes, flashing in tune with the amount of light. He could feel his body ache, the parts he did not know would hurt making himself known as he carefully sat on his bed, before leaning on the head of his bed.
He had half a hope that everything that happened last night was just a cruel nightmare, but the stiffness in his body proved otherwise. She blinked back the rest of her sleep as she turned to look at her reflection in the mirror near the dressing table.
Last night he dragged himself half-conscious back home. When she finally reached her cabin, Leyla had just locked the door before falling into a dreamless sleep in her own bed.
He was anxious to wipe away the traces overnight on his body, but he was so exhausted that he could not even lift a single finger after hitting his mattress. The best thing he could do last night was to go home without driving himself crazy from last night.
Unknowingly, his eyes traced his body, observing the ***** that the man had left on his skin, the dried up bodily fluids made him feel unkempt and sticky all over his body. Seeing them once again made embarrassment creep deep into him and tears flowed considering the memories had been violated in the most humiliating way.
'It's okay,'
Leyla said to herself while trying to catch her breath. He dragged himself into the bathroom, and started rubbing his body.
'It's not a big deal, not if you know why you should do it.' he kept saying to himself.
He just continued to rub his skin raw until reddened and his shame replaced with numbness when he saw dirty water flowing into the sewer. Leyla slowly walked out, robotically wearing a few clothes before trudging towards the dining room and sitting by the table, not staring at anything…
Lately he thought he had to forage for food before going to visit his Uncle Bill. After all, he needed to gather his strength, he was unable to show any signs of his exhaustion.
He immediately went to take the food that was brought by Ms. Mona yesterday, arrange some of it on a plate and put it on the table. He just chose some lighter options. Although he knew he needed to eat more, for the time being he was unable to find strength within him even to swallow.
Despite not feeling hungry, he obediently stuffed some food into his throat, forcing himself to swallow with the help of water running down his throat. As soon as he finished the last slice of bread, he saw a strange pile in the corner of his eye.
He had been so unconscious in the past few days, he had not noticed it. It took a while for him to realize that the object had been waiting for several days, given the thin dust gathering on its surface.
Curiously, Leyla approached the pile of letters, removed the rope around her and took the top envelope to see who the letter came from. His eyes widened and his hands trembled as he recognized the handwriting written on the paper…
'Kyla!' he thought in shock, his heart racing as he looked at the man's handwriting on it. Immediately he checked the other letters, flipping one after another with renewed urgency. Leyla dropped the letters haphazardly onto the table, examining them to the last…
Everything from Kyle.
He braced himself on the edge of the table, adjusting his breathing as he glanced towards the many letters addressed only to him. Where did this come from?! Leyla stared at them in shock for a while, before tearing up the earliest letter she should have received.
Tears welled up in his eyes and his hands trembled as he began to read the first of the many letters Kyle had sent him. It has been there since the beginning of the last autumn.
His eyes were fixed on the first line of the letter, holding back sobs…
[Leyla is my favorite,]
“Thank you, Duke. I honestly don't know what else to say. Thank you very much."
Bill gave a huge thank you as he bowed deeply to the Duke in front of him with a face flushed with embarrassment. He looked a little worse, his last few days were difficult, but still held a lot of hope that everything would be fine. And he was proved right when Duke dropped the charges against him without requiring compensation.
He looked much brighter than before.
“I will never be able to repay the mercy that you have shown me..” he fell silent, tears welling up in his eyes because of his incredible disbelief for the miracle shown to him. Just then, he saw Leyla enter through the entrance of the police station…
He could not help but beaming happily upon his arrival.
“Leyla!” He greeted her with great enthusiasm. Several pairs of eyes around them were drawn to the commotion, looking back and forth from Bill and Leyla, including Duke and the lawyer who was with him.
Leyla froze as she stared at Duke's gaze for a moment before looking back at her uncle. A sense of trepidation filled him as he hurriedly went to his uncle's side.
"Uncle!" he greeted back, clasping his arms tightly as if he was afraid to let go. "What the hell is going on here?" he hurriedly asked.
“It looks like a congratulations should be given to Leyla,” the police officer who was with them started, with a beaming smile, “Duke has just dropped all charges against your uncle.” he explained.
Leyla tried to act as if it was a surprise, but the smile on her face stiffened as she turned to face Duke.
“B-so?” he asked slowly, his head turning his head in jerks before he fully faced the Duke to give him a respectable head bow as a thank you despite the deep anger filling him upon seeing him, "M-my most sincere thanks to you, Duke." He thanked me reluctantly.
There was a stream of emotions swirling around in his mind as he and his uncle bowed in thanks before him. His hands became damp as he grasped his uncle's arms, feeling his body getting colder with each second passing him nearby…
From a distance, nothing seemed wrong to the others despite Leyla being awkward. People only considered it his innate shame. No one else noticed his belligerent emotions, at the very least, no one else other than Duke Herhardt was aware of them.
Matthias and Leyla's eyes met once again, as her lawyer spoke to police for some last-minute details as per her instructions. Leyla's eyes looked at him with a deep sense of disdain, and Leyla returned her gaze full of challenge, while staring silently at her uncle with a subtle threat.
If she wanted to keep their little affair a secret, she would have to know how to hide her emotions, starting with stopping her hands from shaking too much.
There was a slight bulge at the corner of her lips as she looked at her tiny little hand. He could have easily left it all up to his lawyer to smooth over the details of Bill's release alone, but he wanted to come.
She wants to meet her brash employer, Leyla Lewellin.
The memories of last night flooded his mind.
Leyla then remained curled up on the floor while hugging herself. The nearby flame light shone on his stooped figure, emitting a soft orange glow on his pale skin, filled with scars, thanks to him. His trembling breath echoed behind the cackling flames.
Matthias picked up his discarded pants, pulled them up smoothly and put his shirt back on before sitting on a nearby sofa to continue admiring Leyla's naked figure. He liked the dark contrast of the marks left on him. It fed the hungry beast within him with deep satisfaction.
Unfortunately he could not see her face from her place because she still refused to see it.
His long golden key stuck to his back with the sweat he had accumulated. His handprints, from the rough way he grasped his hips and thighs, reminded him of how gentle he felt in his hands. He thought of calling out his name for her to look at him, but threw away the thought, replacing it with cigarettes…
Still, he couldn't find himself to turn it on.
Inevitably she saw how she stubbornly refused to budge from her fetal position, still turning away from him. It gnawed at his nerves, he had half a mind to take on his form and force him to do as he wished…
But that's not what he wants from her.
Losing the urge to smoke, he simply threw away the non-lit cigarette once more, before he stood back up. He walked towards his adjoining bedroom, his brows furrowed in slight regret at not taking a few extra minutes to bring him to his bed.
Matthias felt a little guilty because he experienced their partner on the cold hard floor, not on his plush, padded mattress. He came back to check on her, and watched as she became stiff hearing the sound of her return.
He simply scoffed at the girl's childishness, grabbed her coat hung on a shelf and threw it carelessly onto her prone body. He grimaced because of that sudden contact, but remained motionless. It began to become difficult who was insulted among them in his mind.
Trying to control his emotions, Matthias could only retreat for a moment to his bathroom to calm his emotions. He irritates her just as much as he satisfies her, which leaves her with no idea what to do next.
She takes a short shower, determined to ease the pain still lingering on Leyla, but when she finishes, and comes back out to hug Leyla, she finds herself alone and confused. Leyla was no longer visible.
He has escaped from her.
He frantically searched around the pavilion, before he finally realized that he had left and left without goodbye. He looked at his discarded blouse, crushed with his buttons torn and strewn across the marble floor. If he looked closely, he could also see some strands of his golden hair left behind.
He also saw his jacket hanging haphazardly on the shelf and could not help but laugh amusedly. Does she hate the thought of being with him so much that she would rather risk looking completely naked to come home?
She was partly grateful she had not chased him back then, because she knew her patience had already reached its limit. If he met her once again last night, he was sure he could treat her more harshly than before.
Therefore, he just stared at Leyla in front of him now, reassuring himself that he had taken a wise decision last night. It had only been a few hours since he had buried himself inside of her, and he could already feel the same excitement he felt towards her last night when he found himself losing his master.
“You made a noble decision, Duke,” the police praised him, bringing Matthias back to the present. “Really, you deserve respect and praise as the head of the Herhardt.” Family
Matthias simply thanked him briefly, ending the conversation effectively before immediately leaving the police station. It didn't take long before Leyla, Bill and the other police officers started moving again.
Bill follows when driver Matthias opens the door for him.
“Duke, I will never forget this kindness until I die!” Bill says a big thank you, “Really, I won't do it.” He solemnly declared, bowing one last time to her. Matthias just stared at the gardener's nephew, a dark glint in his eyes.
“Nothing, Mr. Remmer.” replied as he watched Leyla who looked fed up imagining her uncle saying thanks and singing her praises. “I look forward to seeing you again at Arvis.”, he concluded, before finally getting into his car.
Leyla had refused to smile again. She could not help the small smile she sent her as the car door closed between them. Really, he would soon see her again in the same state.
He'll make sure.
When Duke finally leaves the police station, Leyla is relieved to flood his body due to his disappearance. They both carried out last-minute checks on the charges that were dropped before they left. Leyla joined hands with her uncle, resting her head on his uncle's shoulder. They chatted for a while, Leyla asked what she missed before finally speaking up.
“What do you mean we still live in Arvis?” he asked with a slight frown, “Why do we stay?”
Bill could barely contain his excitement as he hugged her comfortably. He finds himself deeply confused as they make their way back to their ancient cabin in Arvis.
“Oh, actually that's all Duke did,” he replied timidly, still smiling widely in relief, “He told me I can still work at Arvis, and continue to stay in the cabin.”
"What?" Leyla was unwilling to ask stupidly. He hoped they could take this as an opportunity to move on. “But uncle-” Bill gently raised his hand, wordlessly pleading with him to let him continue.
“At first I wanted to reject my dear, really. I feel so guilty for my negligence that I cannot afford to go back to work there.” He admitted, “However, Duke only told me to consider this as penance for my mistakes, and to work harder in restoring the greenhouse back to its former glory.”
Leyla could only feel a growing fear in her stomach.
“He also told me that my skills and expertise were an important part of the restoration, and I thought about it and agreed to it. I am a gardener and have worked in greenhouses for many years. After all, who better to fix my mistakes than myself?” he turned to Leyla, looking for some sort of approval.
“Does Madam allow you to return to work?” Leyla asked him anxiously, and Bill only smiled gently at her unrest.
“Duke told me that Lady Norma welcomed me with pleasure, and Lady Elysee has granted their wish.” she answered him, “Ah, how lucky Duke Leyla is! He is our savior!” he praised.
Leyla could only agree stiffly.
Rescuers…
Uncle Bill sings praises to her and calls her their savior. Leyla just wanted to shout out her contradictions and ruin their image of her. He was a vile and cruel man, and everyone had the right to see him as he saw him…
But at the same time, he wanted to save his uncle from the unbearable guilt he would feel if he knew what he had to do in order for him to be free once again. He couldn't do that to her.
Therefore he kept his mouth shut, doing his best to hold back his anger until he could calm down.
Uncle Bill went on to tell me about how deeply he felt guilty for destroying the masterpiece over the past few days. And perhaps, if he helped restore it to its former glory, he would feel a bit of peace as he passed through it.
“Really, that is the only way I can repay the kindness he has shown us.” Bill's done.
“I understand, uncle.” Leyla answered softly. If only he had known their debt had paid off, but he would have carried the secret to the grave if he could.
“Really Leyla, you don't have to worry too much anymore.” Bill tried to calm him down, “I promise to be careful from now on, I will take better precautions.” he sighed, stopping in front of the Arvis gate before pulling him into a gentle embrace.
Leyla could only see how her uncle's spirit slowly returned to her, and hugged her back. Despite the embarrassment, she was glad she came out. He never wanted to see her as empty as he did again.
Suddenly a frenzy rang out nearby, getting louder with each second. The two of them moved away and saw what was happening, and Bill could only laugh cheerfully, seeing the servants rushing to greet them.
"Billing! You are really back!”
“Oh, thank goodness!”
“We missed you, Bill!”
They gathered around Bill, reached out, hugged, and touched him in any way they could. Leyla only took a step back, giving them a wide berth in order to be able to meet her uncle enough. He watched them happily welcome him back.
Their excitement was contagious so Leyla could not help but smile calmly at the sight before her. He turned around, his eyes staring towards the beautiful and complicated gate that seemed to be closing in on him.
His smile was gone, his eyes returning to a dull state as a golden emblem reflected in his eyes
