"Are you going to continue sleeping, Chris?" ask Blaire. His tone implied that he seemed to need a friend to talk to.
Christian can also catch Blaire's body language well. The man then looked into the room, where Ainsley was already soundly asleep. He then closed the door tightly, and stood with his back against the wall. "Why has Miss Shuterland's attitude changed so drastically on me?" the tananya half muttered. "He didn't even scold you when he saw us kissing in the hospital."
"You already know the answer, Chris," said Blaire. "Mother has indeed released me, especially after she saw how much responsibility you showed when caring for Ainsley."
"Then, how's next?" ask Christian again.
Blaire was silent for a moment. He seemed to be considering, and thinking about every series of words he would convey to Christian. "I was confused about something" Blaire said.
"About what?" tanya Christian stared fixedly at the young woman who had been wearing sleeping clothes, equipped with a pair of fur sandals patterned panda bear.
"About Aaron" Blaire replied slowly. His voice sounded deep, and just like a whisper.
Christian immediately corrected his stance. He then leaned on his left arm, with the position of the body facing Blaire completely. "What's going on?" ask the man later.
Blaire was still doubtful. He returned the father's gaze from his son for a moment, before deciding to turn his gaze in search of strength in order to survive the gray-eyed owner's temptation. "Aaron .. he knows we kissed in the hospital. This is the second time he's seen our togetherness that .. gosh, Chris ...." Blaire looks so upset. "Do you think I'm to blame?"
"Why should you feel that way?" Christian asked back.
"Aaron wasn't angry at all. He's even acting normal, as you saw earlier this afternoon." Blaire then fell silent for a moment. "I smelled a woman's parfume on her clothes" she said.
"Did your future husband also have an affair?" ask Christian so straightforwardly.
"Hey, why do you use the word 'also'? I didn't cheat on him. I just ...." Blaire was running out of words. He then took a slow and deep breath.
"The fact is you don't resist and even enjoy every time we kiss" Christian said calmly, but made Blaire even more uncomfortable. The girl looked down, hiding her shame. What Christian said is true.
"Why should you push yourself if you feel uncomfortable? I think Aaron must be at the weakest point of his love life right now. Loving someone who does not have similar feelings for us. Even if he's looking for an escape, I don't think it's a mistake. Aaron is a handsome and well-established man. He is friendly to everyone. Imagine if a situation like this continued until you got married." Christian was still with his gaze raining down on Blaire's beautiful face.
"Marriage without a foundation of love. You might be able to push yourself. However, the man who becomes your partner is a living human being and has a brain. Aaron's not a stupid man. I'm afraid that if something like this continues, the pain that Aaron initially received will turn to you, Blaire." Christian doesn't usually talk at length.
"I'm confused. I was determined that I would not withdraw the words I had spoken. You know for yourself that I've taken the decision to continue with our wedding plans by the middle of this summer." Blaire looks worried.
Christian continued to look at him with strange glare. The man was still holding on to his position like that. "All decisions are in your hands, Blaire. No one has the right to impose his will."
Christian took a deep breath. "I think before it's too late, it'd be best if you spoke up and discussed this more seriously. Reassure yourself again for the big decisions you will make. After all, I am Ainsley's real father, and I love you so much. Do not make things that should be easy, be complicated and convoluted. It will only make your life feel more difficult and uncomfortable."
After saying so, Christian then straightened his body. "It's been too late, Blaire. You better get some sleep and rest. Don't worry about Ainsley. I'll take good care of him."
Blaire, who had just been silent listening to all the words of Christian, did not intend to argue. He nodded, then moved to the door. Blaire opens and looks into the room filled with Ainsley's toys. Most of the toys were gifts from Aaron.
After making sure that his son slept comfortably, Blaire decided to return to the room. "Good night, Chris," he said before passing in front of the man in the black t-shirt.
"Good night, Blaire," Christian replied. He delivered the blond girl earlier, with his eyes hard to decipher. A moment later, however, a smile was drawn at the corner of Christian's lips. "I just want you to be happy, Blaire," he muttered before returning to the room.
......................
Early in the morning, Christian woke up. He had even helped Ainsley who wanted to go to the bathroom. All that Christian did was not involve Blaire at all. The man actually proved his point, saying that he would make up for the five years lost as long as he was nowhere near the child.
The kitchen was beginning to sound. Blaire is preparing breakfast by herself. Viktoriya is still getting ready to go to the store.
"Good morning, dear," replied the blond girl. He paused for a moment the activity he was working on, then approached Ainsley. "Gosh, you're good-looking and neat. Look at this hair." Blaire smiled broadly at the appearance of her son.
"Dad combed my hair. He said he had to stay tidy until later in the afternoon when he came back here again" Ainsley replied, making Blaire laugh.
"Ah okay. I'm not gonna mess with him. I don't want to have any trouble with your father" joked Blaire. He looked cheerful in front of Ainsley.
Blaire's attitude, that did not escape the attention of a Christian. He then approached the mother of his son. The man then asked something. "Since when have you been so good at pretending, Miss Shuterland?"
"From the moment you left with no strings attached" Blaire replied lightly.
"All right." Christian has no other answer. He only said that one word. Moreover, since Viktorija has appeared in the dining room.
"Good morning everyone" she said, looking so fresh and cheerful. "Hi, Ains. You were so handsome this morning. If I were a five-year-old little girl, then I would have fallen in love with you already" the middle-aged woman joked as she kissed her favorite granddaughter's forehead. Ainsley just knitted his eyebrows. He did not seem to understand the words of his grandmother.
"Breakfast is ready, ma'am. I'm sorry you had to run the shop by yourself" Blaire said.
"Ah done. Forget about that. Anyway, I have to get used to it. If you're married, I'm not sure that Aaron will let you keep working" Viktorija said, sitting on one of the chairs on a wooden dining table that looks very distinctive. "Join to breakfast with us, Chris." The middle-aged woman turned her eyes to Christian who was still standing behind Ainsley's wheelchair.
"No need, Madam. I'll be right to the store" Christian subtly refused.
"I'm going to the store too. If you want, we can go together there," Viktorija replied without looking at the Mexican man earlier. He was preparing the dishes, then filling them with breakfast menu available.
"My mom's right, Chris. You'd better have breakfast with us" Blaire said with a meaningful look.
If he had received such treatment from Blaire, Christian could not refuse. He smiled faintly, then pushed Ainsley's wheelchair near the table. While sitting near the child.
"It's your breakfast, Ains." Blaire thrusts food in a special dish in front of her son who is increasingly drowning blocked by the height of the table. "Gosh, I can't see you," the girl joked with laughter from all.
"Is Mom mocking me short?" ainsley protested while scowling.
"You're not short, you're just not as tall as we are" Christian said, making Blaire and Viktorija laugh again. The warmth was so felt, at the dining table at breakfast at that time.
Moments later, Viktorija and Christian have said goodbye. They leave together. Blaire could not imagine the awkwardness the man felt when he had to interact with his mother.
Time has shown eight o'clock exactly. Aaron has not been there yet. Normally, the man would stop by to greet Ainsley as well as drive them to the tavern. But not for today. Blaire didn't want to be so bad. He thought, maybe because for some time yesterday Ainsley was in the hospital, so Aaron forgot his habits.
The girl then grabbed the phone on the table. She then contacted her future husband. "You didn't come by here?" ask Blaire astonished.
"Ah sorry, Blaire. I left for Glasgow early in the morning" said Aaron briefly.
"I wanted to talk to you for a minute, to discuss our wedding plans. You didn't forget it wasn't that mid-summer was less than a month away ...." Blaire paused her words, when she heard the voice of a woman. What he said was not very clear, but Blaire was still able to catch a bit of the greeting of the woman across there.
"Aaron, where's the towel you were wearing?"
"Whose voice is that?" ask Blaire full of probes.
Aaron did not answer. He simply turned off his phone connection, making the curiosity in Blaire's heart grow.
