“Temen-temen.. see nih...” Ody entered the class while raising his head. He deliberately jerked his new shoes, “papaku just bought shoes. Here buy it with that dollar, then buy it in Australi.” Ody pointed to his shiny shoes. Classmates surrounded him.

“Wah.. what's the price, Dy?” ask Friska, who always won't lose to Ody. “Don't know, Ka. But obviously expensive dong, well.” Ody tidied the hair that was given the cream that belonged to his father. All the children of grade 4-A of the Maharaja Elementary School surrounded Ody. Bored, Ody went outside. He saw one student sitting on a long bench reading a book. Ody was curious to see the student.

“Duh, how is he silent anyway? How different from the others everything on contact me?” ask Ody in my heart. His eyes were looking for an opportunity to see someone who was engrossed himself on the bench of the classroom. Ody recognized him, his name was Fatih. A quiet 4-B class student who is always a class champion. He only spoke occasionally. But yes, the word out of his mouth is only one sentence, making him not have too many friends.

Ody then approached him, “Hai.. assalamualaikum.” said.

“Waalaikumsalam. hi too,” reply.

“Again?” ask Ody. Fatih shook his head, “no, just read his book Enyd Blyton aja...great deh,” he offered his book to Ody.

“I don't like reading that, abisnya not understand the same sentence..” reject it, “I like the book that has the picture,”

“I have a picture story book. I'll love you later, yeah?” fatih. Ody frowning, “love? Seriously nih?” Ody asked in wonder. The other friends usually just lend, but this one..

“Iya, I want to give to you, because the books in my house have been a lot. Hehehe..”.

It did not take longer, Ody was immediately familiar with Fatih. They talk a lot until it does not feel the time to show seven o'clock exactly. The entrance bell also reads.

“Udah enter, I want to go to class first yes,” say Ody.

“Iya, let's meet again right at rest.” Fatih.

Bu Mila's explanation of Indonesian history did not attract the attention of Ody. I don't know how many times he yawned because Ody did not like IPS. Every now and then his friends giggled at the eyes of Ody who lived five watts. Occasionally, Ody's head stumbled at the table. But Ody kept trying to concentrate, hoping that the bell would ring soon. Ody's stomach has been asking for food. God granted Ody's prayer.

A few minutes later, the bell rang. This afternoon the sun was quite hot. Ody walks outside the classroom wiping his sweat, waiting for Mang Karyo who has not come to pick up. After a while, it appeared that the car Mang Karyo was driving stopped right in front of the school gate. Ody opens the car door, but his eyes are still on someone. He saw Fatih walking alone towards the gate.

“Fatih!!” he shouted, then approached the cepa-haired student.

“Iya, what's up, Dy?”

“Go home with me, yuk.” take Ody. He himself felt strange. Never had he been this good to his classmates, but to Fatih he felt different. Fatih he thought of as his own brother. “Ng.. do not need me to go home alone kok,” refused Fatih.

“But your home is far away, continue not to be picked up, again. We are together, is our house in the same direction?” obviously Ody.

“But later ngerepotin.” Ody laughs, “no.. come on..” Ody pulls Fatih's hand.

On the way, Fatih laughed a lot at Ody's guyonan. It turns out that Ody was fun. He is so supple and friendly. Only one lack of Ody that Fatih disliked. Smiling in response to Ody's rant, an idea suddenly flashed in his head. The car stopped at a red light intersection. Fatih saw that there was a grandfather selling newspapers. Fatih opened the car window and called out to the old man.

“Buy the newspaper yes, Kek.” said Fatih. He picked up a newspaper and gave twenty thousand to Grandpa.

“This is the change, Son.”

“No need, Cake..take for Grandpa aja.” subtly push Fatih.

Grandpa's eyes glazed over, “ma. thanks, Son. May Allah SWT grant all your prayers yes, Son.”.

“Aamiin.” Fatih said the words of the grandfather. The light turned green. The car is running again.

...ADVERTISMENTS...

“Tih, how do you give a lot of money to Grandpa?” ody protest. Fatih smiled explained, “ya is okay if we are his intention alms?”

“Yes, but does Grandpa work?” ask Ody again. He was curious about Fatih's other attitudes with children in general.

“Kata Mama, alms that make us more cheap sustenance. If we want alms, it should be like a hand. If the right hand thanks, the left hand can not know.” explained Fatih.

“if we want alms would be good if no one knows unless we are equal to God,”

“Oh...” Ody stunned at Fatih's explanation, “continue if no one knows not fun dong, Tih? What's the point of us giving alms then?”

“Hmm...” Fatih thought for a moment, “soalnya if anyone knows enter dikirain we caper! Hehehe..”.

Fatih laughed, Ody also laughed. Today Ody is happy, there is one valuable lesson he learned from his new best friend. “Oiya, which block is your home, Tih?” asked Ody, when the car entered the housing complex of Bumi Pertiwi, where Fatih lived. “My house is in block C. Straight away turn left, my house is also on the left,”

And before long the car stopped right in front of the house painted blue. Fatih opened the door, “thank you, Dy.. Assalamualaikum,” pampitnya while closing the car door and then running into the house. Ody was again stunned to see Fatih who was always grateful even though his house was smaller than the house of Ody.

“Thank you, Tih... have given me a valuable lesson today,” Ody murmured in heart, then closed the window glass before the car drove back to his house.

Eventually Ody arrived home. After Zuhur's prayers and lunch, Ody ran to see the calendar. Three more days is his birthday. He has never celebrated a birthday with his friends. Even if there is, it is just lunch together at home. This time Ody wanted something different. He approached Mama who was sitting on the sofa of the family room.

“Ma, Sunday tomorrow right Ody birthday well?”

“Oh yes? Wow.. Mama's child is already big well now.” mama embraces Ody sitting on his lap.

“then you can dong, Ody ask Mama?”

“Bby, invite your friends to lunch here, regular kayak well.”

“Hmm.. not that, Ma.” protests Ody while pouting. He put on a bete face. “Keep what, babe?”

“Hmm.. Ody wants to celebrate his birthday at the restaurant! Kayak in tivi-tivi it.. Can ya Ma? Beautiful mom deh..” woo Ody. He recalled an infotainment show a few days ago about an artist celebrating his son's birthday at a restaurant. Ody wants it that way too. After all, he was used to seducing his parents if he wanted something. If so, Papa and Mama will always grant his request.

“But if Mama is not wrong, Papa has planned to celebrate Ody's birthday whereaaa is, Mama also does not want.” said mama. “Oh yes? Where is it, Ma? Which restaurant? Asyiikkkkkk... tomorrow Ody invite many friends, Ma? Hehehe..” Ody soaring with excitement.

“But Oapa pesen invited his deket friend Ody aja, can not be much,” errat mama.

“Yah, Mama..” Ody is singing lips, “exclamation, ah...” Ody steps gontai towards his room.

In his room, Ody accidentally saw his cell phone lying just like that on the bed.

“Hmm.. Maybe Mama fell asleep here, kept forgetting to put down hp..” Ody murmured in the heart. For a moment Ody pondered, “wait. I have an idea.” Without waiting for long, Ody accidentally pecked papa's mobile number. He wanted to ask what Papa's plan was for him. But Ody was disappointed after he finished calling. Papa's in a meeting, Papa's gonna call again.

It's a bright Sunday. Ody and his family are getting ready to go to a place that is still secret. Papa and Mama were excited to put the parcel in the trunk of the car. Meanwhile, Ody is less than satisfied. He occasionally glanced at Fatih beside him. After school yesterday, Ody invited Fatih to stay at his house. Yes, he only invited Fatih to celebrate his ninth birthday. In my heart, Ody was still wondering, “Papa want to go where the hell?”

Idly Ody entered the car while pouting. Once everything is ready, Papa drives. Fifteen minutes later, Papa turned the car into a small alley that could only be passed by one car. Papa stops at a small house with a signboard ‘Baby orphanage and Toddler’ in front of him. The parlour looked more like an ordinary small house than any other parlour that Ody used to see. Ody is full, “Yes Allah.kayak gini yes, where they live?” he bowed. Fatih, Ody and his parents entered the parlour. Papa talked for a while with one of the caretakers. Then, they walked into a room where the children were gathered.

In the room, there are dozens of toddlers who are busy playing in their respective beds. Ody's gaze was fixed on one of the toddlers who continued to cry. His skin was pure white, his eyes narrowed. But it seemed to be fighting over affection with the caretaker who was only three people. Ody approached him, “Adek why? How do we cry? Do not cry yes..” persuade Ody while rubbing the little sister's back. Instantly the little one laughed, revealing his teeth that had not all grown. His hands flailing, like Ody wanted to carry.

“Hm... Sister can not be fat, mendingan we play outside yuk,” Ody hold the toddler's hand and invite him outside. Outside, there was a small swing and that was where they sat together. Fatih followed Ody. He entertained his new sister. Fatih also read the story from a picture story book he brought.

Both of Ody's parents followed from behind. Ody says, “Ma.. Pa.. Ody wants to have adek.” Mama and Papa were shocked, so was Fatih. Papa seemed to want to explain something, but cut Ody, “jadin Kiki adeknya Ody yes, Pa?” ask Ody while embracing a toddler who turns out to be named Kiki.

“But really? Intar nyesel loh not be an only child anymore. uh, hehe.” chirped Fatih.

Ody smiled, “No, Tih. Precisely I wanted to have a new sister, let at home added rame. Can you, Pa?” ask Ody again. Papa and Mama looked at each other again, then nodded. “Bby dong, what is not for your dear child Papa..” replied Papa. At once Ody was happy. “Still Pa, Ma...” then Ody glanced at Fatih who is still engrossed with his book, “thank ya buddy.” Fatih close book, “sama-sama, friend..”.

The bright blue sky was as bright as Ody's heart at the moment. A very special birthday, even more so today officially he has become an older brother.
